Glass Shower Screen With Or Without Kerb
LittleDevil replied to priyalok's topic in Plumbing & Electrical Works
The purpose of having either drop or kerb is to prevent water from wetting the entire bathroom during shower. Guess it exists for functional reasons. -
Share a tip with you guys... You can simply trade in all the free gifts and get the intended item at a lower price. I traded in the free gifts when I ordered my Samsung LCD TV and get the TV at $350 lower than the quoted price. The good thing is we dun have to worry about the redemption.

Sia Huat is having their annual warehouse sale! We were there this evening. The selection of discounted items are quite wide. Managed to find some good deals there... but the Patra series which I am aiming is not among the items. Too bad... Tomorrow is the last day for the sale (10am to 6pm). Do drop by their Pandan Road warehouse if you are keen to stock up your kitchen items and dinnerware.

I think Sungei Kadut Loop is a good place to shop for furniture... many brands have shops at that area. We found our sofa there!

Can Naytoh Wood Doors Be Painted White Colour?
LittleDevil replied to beagle's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
We also don't like the original colour of the naytoh wood door which is a bit reddish brown. So we asked our ID to paint it to white colour. No problem at all. -
Can DIY? Spray paint...

The Ceiling Fan Debate
LittleDevil replied to reload72's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
We installed two KDK and one Crestar ceiling fans. We prefer our Crestar fan cos it has the strongest wind flow. Not sure whether it is due to the widest window opening at the living hall though. -
We paid $180 each for the KDK fans (excluding installation). We bought them at our friend's shop. Mine is charged at $130 per foot run. Since granite is natural stone, there bound to be some differences among batches. Tried to pm you my email but your mailbox is full.

What about using real wood instead of laminates to custom made your furniture? Then the exterior and interior colour will be the same.

He should deduct x ft for the overlapping portion. Can't remember the exact length but definitely shouldn't be 30 ft. -
Is Hanging Light With 3 Bulbs Consider 1 Or 3 Light Points?
LittleDevil replied to gaiusparx's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
Mine is counted as 1 lighting point. -

Down Light
LittleDevil replied to Cap Cay's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
To save energy cost, you can ask the electrician to separate the switches of the downlights in a room into two or three, such that you can choose to open only downlights at a certain zone. Typically a HDB bedroom would need about 6-8 downlights. Living room harder to estimate since it depends of the shape and size. Do consider having wall lights, standing or table lamp to create "layers" as well. When these lights are included, the number of downlights could reduce accordingly. The glass covering will also affect the level of illumination. Frosted glass will be dimmer. No covering is also possible and is the brightest option. -

I saw one bay window from the magazine very nice. It has a bright red vinyl/leather cushion on top of the bay window and the cushion extend up the two strips of wall and the strip at the ceiling is also covered with the same cushion. It sort of frame up the window nicely and definitely looks cozy enough to laze around (if there is no afternoon sun).

Finally found our sofa from Uninova at Sungei Kadut Loop area! We were at that area looking for our sofa during a rainy day and almost give up after trying several stores. When we were walking towards our car, intending to leave the place, then we saw the side entrance of the store. Luckily we went in... and ended our weeks of searching. The sofa we saw is exactly the same colour tone we are looking for. And most importantly the support of the cushion is good. Only thing is it is a 3-seater, smaller than the L-shape sofa we are planning to get. After a week of consideration, we decided to get a separate relax chair or lounge chair if necessary. So we went back to order the sofa! It will be delivered two weeks later. $1.7k for PU 3-seater L shape sofa seems a bit steep...

YEAH!! Our renovation is completing soon! ID will officially hand over our flat to us on this coming Thursday. Everything is done except a couple of minor patch up here and there. Have been busy cleaning our place for the past few days. Our first delivery will be on Mon afternoon - my newly bought wok and pot from CK Tang! ^-^ Beside the wok and pot, we have also bought a couple of things this weekend: DURO lock for our main gate from Home Fix, Clothes hanging extendable rack from CK Tang, bookcases from IKEA and finally our sofa. Enjoy all these shopping. Will be meeting up 3 window solar film supplier later this afternoon for quotation. On Thursday, the storeroom rack will be installed and our dinning set will be delivered. A very exciting period for us.

You can try looking at S&C at AMK or IKEA?
