We have not signed up yet. That's what Mr Sam said. I think he will only draw a rough sketch on our floorplan to let us have a brief idea of his designs/ideas.

Think tat is enuff for us as we are open to reno ideas at this stage.

We went to meet Sam at their Paya Lebar Showroom yesterday. We have to give credit for him to produce 2 3D drawings - 1 for the kitchen and 1 for the living area .

However, we were disappointed to see the designs as we felt that it is too simple and could be done by any novice ID.

The quotes were on the high side too but this we cant blame him becos of our requirements. If we were to use them, most probably we have to drop a lot of things - no feature wall, no changing to current wrought iron gate etc .

He did not seem too keen to serve us yesterday. Most probably is because we told him we will consider further b4 making a decision.

went to u-home last month. nothing against them.......itls a salesman instead of an id designer attended to us. i ask if he was the one designing, he said no, he will do according to what we want and pass to another pedt to design and get back to us/////???

so when discussing the details of what we want, he seems to be lost and from there i just said i need to come back agian as it's getting late. i mean i'm not looking down on him or what so ever its just that im gonna spend 30k why would i put it in a salesman hand????

1 wk later he called and quoted me ovet the phone, it;s like 8k lesser than what chew interior quoted. end up i still sign with chew as i belive there''s a lot of hidden cost from them. a bit off subject here, we met the designer from chew and he guided us what to to and what not to do, unlike salesman they will do what you want to do, no idea at all. and that's the difference.

tips.....go direct to a id designer, any in-between might screw things up.

we met Sam from U-Home yesterday. We felt honoured as he is one of the directors of the firm. First impression, very experienced guy and able to give good advices. Their quotations for resale packages very reasonable and the best part they cover most of our requirements. We only have to add on a few carpentry work. Saw their showroom, very impressive!

I think now they have promo. If you are sourcing for IDs, i think no harm talking to them as they are very highly recommended in another forum.

Now we are waiting for their quotes and perspective drawings.

Looking forward to hear from them soon!

I just completed my reno. my ID is very very responsible. i have very very tight budget and wanted to 'maximise' and do as much as possible within my budget as mine was a 26 years old flat.

was indeed very surprised at this ID. He is unlike other ID which i met who will try cut your items to be done and do less things or rather coax you to choose the cheaper material and end up dun care if overall it makes your house look cheapo... he is very patient and willing to tell you the way to cut cost yet do not compromise with the overall feel and design of the house.

this is my 2nd home already and i can tell the huge difference as i have been to most reno firms in singapore. p/s: i will go all out to cut cost so i researched almost 6mth before i engage any contractor.

in the long and short. i am very happy and satisfied with the service which my ID provided. if you are interested in his contact, pls PM me.

i have moved in for 2months already. even when my lightbulb blow, my ID send a electrician to look at it very promptly. and he told me he warrant his services for 2 years for every home he is in charge of. basically i am very impress with this young man's committement and attitude throughout my house reno and after service.

just a brief list of items i have done.

1) tailor made and design grille for windows and main door.

2) hack entire floor and pipes and bathrooms and kitchen. overhaul of the entire house.

3) plaster all walls

4) i paint the walls and ceiling myself.

5) false ceiling whole house.

just to share our good experience with U-Home. our reno by U-Home has been completed and handover recently. very satisfied by their service and glad that we chose them even tho' their quote may not be the cheapest. the ID serving us, maintain his good service since the day we met him till now.

during the initial planning stage before we award him with the job, the ID serving us spent hours and hours with us trying to understand our needs and requirements. during the reno, he gave us constant updates as & when things are done/completed so we don't need to check the house everyday. and if we feel that things are not nicely done up when we check the house on weekends, he'll get his guys to rectify the next working day. thanks to his good service, it made the reno experience a good one for first time home owners like us.

Any blog or pics to see yr reno done by U Home ? Wat is your total bill? I sign up with them already . My ID also very patient and everytime we meet for discuss usually more than 2 hrs. He even offer to send the drawing to my office when i not free to meetup with him for discussion.

This week he will be arranging for me to view 2 unit before he handover to the owner. Can't wait to see the result.
