  1. heh that's why I say sometimes conveniently forget. I think if Cloudy went to him about it he will "probably" suddenly remember ba
  2. *agreed* bo pian have to budget budget on these. Anyway it does still look nice and since it's cheap why not. At most after a few years change... changing looks now and then is also quite good.
  3. ya! the study table is a good idea le... any idea how much it will cost? Looks like I can head down the ikea liao!!
  4. AND one last thing... the costs of packing and moving... Unless you own a lorry and have many friends to help.. moving will also cost quite a bit.
  5. Very. Cos we have a short period for reno and a smaller budget. So very stressed really. the only good thing is that 3 of us are free during the period for reno so can go and see every day.
  6. WAH seems like a very eventful Saturday!! plenty of stuff done!
  7. Wah say!! white white living room!! super nice! that's what I want tooooo All the tiling done liao wor... so good. hhaha one of the benefits of having a "old bird" ID. whooohoo!
  8. mmmm a contractor quoted me $1250 for whole house up to 5 colours, including door, door frames, pipes....
  9. Wah I like your wardrobe and the kitchen! I'm glad you didn't get rid of the broken marble.. it's so rare now..
  10. ya. 68k is a lot of money.. reno dun really count that much in valuation of flat... mmm Good luck ok? must work within budget.
  11. WOW the dining table and chairs very nice!!
  12. MmMMMMMm I'm not saying that he's not honest ok? But sometimes people will forget? or make mistakes? or sometimes "conveniently" forget.... So maybe you might want to show him your contract and just ask him to absorb the difference ba. mmm
  13. eh? Living should be able to overlay with Homo tiles ba.... can what. got people do... esp since it's on the floor it's safer. But you must check now that the current tiles dun have hollow ones. If got next time the layer below pop then the upper layer will also spoil, no matter what it is. mm I also agree that toilet wall dun overlay. Cos toilet moisture level very high, the tiles below usu not good liao then if you overlay on them.. your new tiles might suffer.
  14. .......... 2 posts only and... well... Huang is the hanyu pinyin of Ng for some hor?
  15. **Contractor Confirming Update** For people who PM me on who my contractor and ID is, I cannot answer you yet cos I'm not confirmed. Anyway I do think it's more advisable for you to suss out people who already have some work done with the contractor... When I sign up with the person it means I'm comfortable with the price and the person... doesn't mean that the person wun give me problems right? So maybe it more advisable, if you're looking for someone, ask those who have half-done reno. As for me I went to visit a home with a contractor yesterday. I really like this contractor but her price is a little more than what we planned for which makes it really hard for me. But like many of you say, it's important to go with someone you feel secure about and for quality. The work I saw done in the house was good. The tiles very nicely laid. But the carpentry wasn't done yet and the contractor offered me to see see next week. House belongs to a forummer by the way. heh heh. This coming Monday,we'll go see another person's work and then I'd have to decide already. Buying a place, moving to a new place is such a nerve wrecking exp. First round if the viewing and the choosing of the unit, then the Contractors, then the Actual Reno process, Then the furniture, then the moving part. OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
  16. EH I think the HACKING a lot of money le!! I hack about 110 sqm including kitchen floor + kitchen cabinets is about 1900-2500.... yours is $4400.... I will jump at such price le. My cement screed wall for paint finish is virtually free. Carpentry cannot comment since no dimensions given. but if it's way above your budget I suggest you take out the carpentry like shoe cabinet all that. Next time then do. Some things can slowly do ba.
  17. WAH I like the sofalabs sofa! and you're right at $700 with extra cover is ok ma. NICEEE What is the material like ah?
  18. hehe I'd have to agree. A combi of each other's tastes would reflect a real house for two.
  19. If you really put ceramic tiles you must make sure your ID soak them for about 2 days before laying le. otherwise they will pop easily. One of the reasons why people choose HOmo for the living. I think if you dun have pets, Laminates are a good way to go.
  20. I agree too ba. People have to earn a bit. Dun earn who want to work? He earn a bit he also happier and will do everything properly. That's human nature...
  21. Yes the pink sofa is unique!! NICE! and I see the stacks of boxes behind... happy packing!
  22. WAH I like the bathroom feature wall tiles! Now tiled up liao?? and the laminate you choose is nice!
  23. hahha we dun have billions.. but my bro's shoes are big. Some are Nike Size 14 sports shoes... take up a lot of space and cannot fit into off-the-shelf shoe cabinets. Need to custom make the shoe cabinet to fit his shoes.
