Abusive Child Care Teacher
pinkpetter replied to clockwork's topic in Pregnancy,Parenthood and Education Matters
poor clockwork. But collecting evidence is the only way lor. then in that case you detail what your son tells you and bring it to MCYS liao. Whatever you observe also. I would put them out of business really get their license revoked since it doesn't seem to be one teacher only... -
YA really vomit blood le they totally ruined the atmosphere! the place is suppose to be relaxing! The Masseuse was very nice ba very friendly... tot needn't wait too long. It's those javanese massage kind? Mace>> highly likely

I must really let this off my chest. Just pardon this poor auntie here. Today Auntie (me la) finally decided that my backache was too much liao decided to go for massage to ease the pain. Mind you, I put off this appt for months already so this is well-deserved. Anyway tot could spend money enjoy a good relaxing massage right? WRONG. 1 minute into lying down, another customer went into the "cubicle" next to mine. The spaces are divided by curtains only so everyone can hear everyone else. And this girl (can tell from the voice and content of conversation) was talking on the phone at the top of her voice. Machiam her handphone spoil so she must talk more loudly. Auntie REN thinking that she will put down soon. She was telling her friend how to come to the massage place. and she Chup the space next to her for her friend... and then she waited. and made her masseuse wait also. She insisted she and her friend must start together. WHY??? So inconsiderate isn't it? The lady earns by the number of massages she does. If delay her time she cannot do so many. Moreover now ramadan she later have to break fast, lagi cannot delay. But then not Auntie's problem so Auntie tried to continue enjoying massage. Her friend came in about 10 minutes later just as loud... Friend: HEYYY Girl: HEYYY why you cannot find? Friend: Ya lor. So I take this space ah? Girl: Ya. Your first time here? Friend: Ya but I think I've been to another outlet in Bukit Timah one.. Right right you all have one in Bukit Timah. Girl: Eh dunno le. Friend: OH NO I have to go out again! Girl: huh WHY? Friend: I left my slippers outside. Girl: never mind la everyone also leave outside ma. Friend: My slippers cost $700 ok! (and went out) ......................................................... $700 le. Can buy sofa/hack tiles/make partition/ laminates.................. Ok Auntie no money. No right to complain right. People parents got money what to do? Who to blame? so Auntie just try to enjoy her massage. Then when the girl came back they continued chatting during their MASSAGE! OMGGGG And they talked about going overseas. Apparently the rich girl with the $700 slippers went to Bangkok recently with a GUY friend. She claimed that she went with this friend becos she want to save on accomodation. SAVE on ACCOMODATION in THAILAND when you have $700 SLIPPERS?! means sleeping in the same room with a man who is only a friend. Kinda gives the wrong impression isn't it? Just to save on accomodation which is relatively cheap? (I can get $30 a night for a single room at those Thai guesthouse) Makes Auntie wonder whether the slippers is Sugar Daddy buy one.... Anyway on the way out, Auntie spotted her Ferragamo slippers. Just pissed that my massage was ruined by kids who can prolly go every day.

Abusive Child Care Teacher
pinkpetter replied to clockwork's topic in Pregnancy,Parenthood and Education Matters
whoa... this is serious. Firstly, it is NOT ok for teachers of any level to slap/hit the children. However I'm glad you are asking here and that you asked your son to demo to you what was done so you want to clarify. I guess that means that you're a very reasonable parent who understands that children might exaggerate things or mistake some things. Moreover you even try NOT to back him up... That said... I guess there wun be smoke if there's no fire right? Since you have tried to speak to the supervisor but to no avail then I'd say you'll have to "gather" evidence. 1) Speak to other parents. Either you go down when it's school's out time and approach the parents of the kids your boy is friendly with OR try to get their phone numbers. I'm sure after so many years he would have made quite a few friends and you probably know a few of them already. It'll help if more children say the same thing. 2) Try to go down 5-10 minutes earlier before school's out. Watch from outside. If you can do it for 1-2 weeks continuously I'm sure you can catch something. However, taking photos will be a big no-no cos the tr might turn defensive and say it was out of context etc. Just take note of what happens and write down in a notebook what you saw and when it happened. 3) If your boy comes home with marks, take photographs and date them. You might also want to write down the days and the various complaints he had that day. So that when you are presenting this "evidence" to the sup, you have detailed accounts and not just plain "heresay". To prevent baseless complaints, you might want to only write it down when your boy is out of sight. So that he will not think that he can just complain every single day whether or not it really happens. 4) Once you have gathered enough parents/evidence, arrange an appointment with the parents involved, the supervisor and the teacher herself. Present evidence. Remember to take note of what the supervisor says and when she is going to do it. If she says the teacher will be counselled, ask her when. Give deadlines. Like the situation must improve by December or something. The bottomline is .... if they don't do anything about it, send a photocopy of all evidences from every parent to MCYS. I believe childcare centres, private or govt are under them as they need proper licensing. I believe you can get the contact here. http://app.mcys.gov.sg/web/corp_contact.asp At the end of the day, the easiest will be to switch childcare centres. But as it is, there are long waiting lists at centres now so trying to look for a vacancy might not be easy. Good luck! -

haha no la I think want to do floral laminates the whole design should go. Floral laminates make simple become more luxurious looking. then if the rest of the house dun go look very funny. yet no budget to make the whole house go along in design so better not. Plus... it's a house with parents and a bro. they will go through the roof. lol only sis and I like. -
yes yes how was the handover? *excited for pictures*
-
mmm bunbun is right too... ye anyway this kind of thing is small matter anytime can do. must wait for table to come..
-
hihi Oh oh forget about the flooring thing. mm I also discussed this flooring thing with many forummers wor. MM think nowadays very few people do granite liao. Mostly do homogenous ba. Not taking into consideration the different grades, (compare normal types)... I think should be Marble most ex, then Granite, Homo, then Laminates. Laminates these days can be very very nice looking also. If don't have pets and kids are ok, then laminate is a good and cheap choice I think. otherwise think Homogenous is a easy to maintain choice ba. Marble scratched will have *heartache* ... might die of heart pain. mmm like you were saying about people who want high COV... if you renovate and spend a lot on renovation then next time when you sell will also hope for high COV. then hard to sell.. Just in case la. but if you dun wan to sell and wan to live forever then it's ok Mine is a resale. Have to redo flooring and kitchen cabinets. mmm can see what I need to do in my signature. but that's basically it. Actually I din even want to do flooring. but the current condition too jiat liat so forced to do.

haha err not yet la. but here's my reno blog not many pictures unlike yours. btw where you get your pictures from ah? -
Hmm you do hacking and re-tiling will take a little more time wor. Yours is almost an overhaul.... If you know what you want and have draft designs and stuff it will quicken the process ba cos sometimes ID take time to come up with the designs and then you have to choose materials also take time. If you alr know what you want then it definitely shortens that time ba. *must do homework* heh Usually they tell you about 4 weeks-8 weeks cos they have other projects going on at the same time so they have limited workers so they shift the workers ard as and when needed. There are pros and cons to this ba. If your ID confidently tells you in 3 weeks and seems very *eng* then it probably means he doesn't have much business, so do you dare to take it up with him? However if he has many projects at hand and looks like he will drag yours... it's also a BIG problem right? have to talk to them and be comfortable with them ba. Feature wall is to make the place look nicer lor. Special. There isn't a need to do false ceiling if you don't want to. but some have high ceilings and they want their homes to be brighter so they have a false ceiling to bring down the lights. Also good for hiding wires. Whether you engage different people or same people is up to you. But if you negotiate an entire package with one contractor you can get discounts sometimes cos they give you the discount on top of the lump sum. But getting different people to do allows you to source for the cheapest materials and labour costs... More work but might be cheaper in the end. MmmmM that's all I know wor. think the other forummers will share more. Good luck le. I also doing my homework

I think the colour combi works great! Very modern and different from the more common black red white. Great choice! ahhh I think the dog consideration is very impt. Like you I have to design my house around my pet too. no point having her destroy things. I love the study and toilet the most. -
Wah thanks for this post. Gives me confidence with them. I talked to them ytd and I liked how they dealt with my quote. Never insist that must have this must have that. Instead they even say.. no need to do some things la and explained why. And they were friendly too so that is one-up. Meanwhile i'm still sourcing... hehe
-
huh sounds bad. and you all really have to make do. but then such renovation usually dun take too long so it should be ok. Likewise cos I'm doing basic reno for my 5 room now. in time to come when we have more cash then we'll do more (like the toilets) heh
-
WAH your recess area is BIG! and your masionette looks so spacious. Some can look smaller cos divided into two levels but yours looks really good! Congrats on your new marriage too! *looking forward to more pics*

I LOVE YOUR TOILETS!!!!!!!! Esp those black floral tiles! I went to the tile shop ytd and saw so many kinds!! Fell absolutely in love with them *envious*
-
Got a few quotations liao... some contractors from friends' recommendations some from the forummers here. Walked into one's office ytd and found him quite nice. But so far all off our budget. Back to the drawing board for us. FYI We're doing the designing ourselves wor so that can save money haha Popped by some wholesale tile shops to see on our own... White Homo tiles which we intend to use for the living. Picture not so clear. Pai seh. Left side one is less shiny but a little whiter cost $2.50/psf Right side is shinier at $3.40/psf .. mm Grey tiles for the kitchen cos we're thinking of having red cabinets. Tot the contrast will be nice. We liked black tiles but were afraid that it'll be a bit dark. Anyway the tile on top is slightly rougher and darker than the one below. Seems that my family prefer the one below. Both less than $3/psf Fell in love with this tile. It has waves! Tot it'll look SO NICE on the toilet wall. It comes in white and neon green also which was FANTASTIC! But... we're not doing the toilets. hahaha so I can just dream dream dream When I went to the tile shop I think I nearly hyperventilated. I LOVED so many tiles. URGHHH
