  1. Hi aubrey, Did Jason tell you the reasons why they are problematic? Do you have a sub-woofer? Where to place it if you have one?
  2. How come the floor trap is on the platform?
  3. Check out http://www.ccm.sg/LocateUs.htm It is Choo Chiang not Choo Kiang
  4. TV console too high not nice leh...best to leave some space on the side for woofer. If you have seen Philips subwoofer for their soundbar or Pioneer sub-woofer, don't think it is possible to fit under the console.
  5. Defrost? My current F&P freezer does not have defrost
  6. Hi, the console suspended by how many cm?
  7. Note that the protection (be it done by you or contractor) may be torn during renovation. You need to dilligently go and patch up the exposed parts.
  8. Maybe you want to have a look at Miele. Heard quite lasting.
  9. Don't waste $$ . Get your contractor to cover for you
  10. Thanks! Will check it out. Been looking for a bottom freezer fridge. Not many manufacturers have them. Normally only European brands such as F&P, Bosch have them.
  11. Did you buy the bosch fridge? What price? Last time I checked was about $2k from Mega Discount Store.
  12. At least the lower portions (see my 3rd picture). Else accidentially got knocked, scratched and dented how?
  13. I did not do any flooring. My contractor covered all (except toilets, yard and utility room) with corrugated papers. If you are not doing door frames, seal them up also. My existing lower kitchen cabinets are also sealed up. My contractor did not charge me for this too. Some pictures:
  14. (1) Note that corrugated papers could be torn in the process of renovation. I always bring a roll of masking tape to tape when I see holes in the corrugated papers. (2) I brought my vacuum cleaner there as well. When I got time, I will vacuum the saw dust and plaster bits up. Big, hard plaster pieces can scratch floors. Pick them up when you see them during site visit
  15. Work done for 18 May 2009: Electrical Hacking again when hand-over is scheduled end of week Shifting of light points for display cabinets Fixing of electrical points and SCV point in TV console
  16. The fridge is a good buy. Right now, cheapest I can find is around $999 at Best Denki. Is it display set?
  17. Had a talk with the contractor yesterday. Gonna shift the display cabinets to the other wall. Else the entrance is "too busy"..got shoe cabinets and display cabinets. Original placement (pic taken on 05 May 09): Today, gonna hack again to shift the light points of display cabinets to the adjacent wall. Will delay schedule a few days for this....
  18. For audiophile, they usually don't do place their devices into our kind of TV console . Not really nice lor Expensive system setup must show off mah...plus some have blink blink effect. For example, the tubes.
  19. Useful for connecting new devices or changing devices. But we don't do that everyday. If have and FOC, take lor. If need to top-up, don't want
  20. Yes, you place devices on that platform. Can stack if they are of low height. Normal players are only 40mm maximum. Didn't go into such details with the contractor and carpenter . Only know after it was installed. If don't like, can pull out and remove easily. I think these stuff are low cost to the contractor, they can provide FOC.
  21. A suggestion: For the compartment, try to do internal width of 500mm. For depth, most normal players have depth of less than 450mm. But you need to cater for power points. As for internal height, depending on the types of devices you want to put. AVR will require more height usually. Normal players should be less than 100mm.
  22. Pictures for illustration. I think your horizontal TV console is something like mine. I am talking about the roller tray in the compartment. Mine also a flip-down type as you can see. The roller tray eats up space and need to take note and maybe tell the contractor if you don't want. Height of console is 25cm. But maximum device height is 12cm due to frame thickness and roller tray.
  23. Work done for 15 May 2009 (carpentry): Dresser with tic-tac door besides the wardrobe TV console (still lacking mirror and a round of polish) For those doing TV console, need to take into consideration thickness of frame and sliding tray. For example, my console is 25cm but maximam height of devices is only 12cm due to frame and removable sliding tray. 2 x Shoe cabinets for wife's shoes only (mine will be in the mini-store near the main door) Had asked for 1 more shelves for the lower portion
  24. Regarding the TV console, the compartment space where you place the devices usually will have a roller tray. Need to take into consideration of this as this tray will take up some height.
