congrats! u finally started ur own t-blog! Really very retro flat with no MBR, i'm amazed! lesser toilet, lesser reno cost! As for bases, i opted out for fridge base but retained washer base. My washer base its those flushed across whole service balcony, so i dun have the worries of restricting myself to the limited size when i chge my washer in future. The base was mainly becos my washing area's got those small windows near the floor, so did it to prevent flooding shd rain seeps in. My current house no bases, surviving well. Both my new n current place kitchen is leveled with living room, so there's no way i can wet wash the whole kitchen anyway. As for skirting, i think its to prevent u from wetting the wall paint when u mop floor rite?

I also dunno how high the console will be 'high'. i dun have a measuring tape n hub the one dealing w Jason n Ah soon. And whenever i ask, its always "i think i think... " now that the carpentry is in the making, i wished i had the luxury of block leave too! so that i can catch either jason or ah soon so that i can address all my issues and measurements b4 it's too late! chiong home b4 the sun goes down to take a closer look what exactly was wrong w the tiling. Outside common toilet. My grouting seems a little wider than acceptable. I wonder issit becos my kitchen wall tiles r those wavy type. White groutings also became brown already, will they go off after chemical washing? The very misaligned mosaic. Exposed electrical wirings. This is sthg i absolutely feel unsafe abt, esp when its just abv my hob! Find that the electrician that came down today got problem w his eyes. My cable trays are slanted, i was still wondering if it was the aircon trunking that was slanted, or the electrical trunking. Aircon workers measured for us - confirm its the electrical trunking. Not much progress today. by the time i'm there, only the aircon guys packing up. Electrical guy long gone, work is only half done. Clearer pic of MBR toilet. Went with the 1dark+3light combi in the end. Super thick aircon trunking in MBR. A couple of new switches up. So pretty... Last but not least, the view of sealed up kitchen (taken from service balcony).

No leh, still haven decided where to place my dining table. The one in the table is just for breakfast or super quick meal, otherwise table is just used to put things. Gd that ur FS woes are settled! Hob really can forget it since u rarely cook. LOL! R u gonna reno ur recess area as well? Or just putting up gates n grills?

I think shd be possible for 35k leh. Mine got plastering + a lot of carpentry, only $22k. Tell him ur budget lower... then ask him to include more electrical points for u!

Angel, ur PD door is cheap! I've called up the PD door distributor and they are charging $280 (incl of GST or not i'm not sure). I also prefer PD door, am getting 2 for my toilets I'll be waiting for ur curtains lobang! After u, it will be my turn!

ya.. even jason also rembr "xiao mei" everyday go up the house.. same thing, for that reason, we also decided not to go with FS but rather convenience n to our lifestyle preference. Afterall he can say all he wants n no one can validate the truth. Furthermore, FS for individual changes every X no. of yrs, if i'm not wrong. i've notice diff FS master say diff things one... so who to believe? i think pinkpetter must be pulling out her hair now becos of the hob thingy...

u'll be amazed with Ah Soon's quote n prices! if he say less than 40k can do.. most prob is confirmed.

Very nice of Ah Soon to agree to help u out w the aircon shifting! Hob, no choice lah. i think still can cook, just tt cannot cook often ba? I personally dun think we shd relate FS to religion. It is not a religion afterall. I wouldnt mind pleasing my mum if it does not affect my life adversely, just to give her peace of mind. But given a choice, i rather not to know or follow or start blaming whatever comes into my life on bad FS. Having said that, no offences to those who r into FS. Its just a cup of tea that doesnt belong to me.

Chge to a new one ba... wat's another $100 when u have already spent so much on revamping the toilet, right? Ur reno is considered fast leh! my house 13th day already still in tiling phase n plastering phase only. I think our mistake in telling my contractor that we are ok to give him 2mths!

HUH??!??!!? Finish reno already then say? How to shift the aircon and the hob now?!? its ridiculously leh. Y don't he say it BEFORE ur reno? for that matter of fact, i'm also quite pissed off w all these FS beliefs sometimes. It only make things more complicated and inconvenience me so much so that it adds irritation more than improving my life. My mum believes so much in it that she forbids the whole house to use MBR toilet. Now, 2 toilet is as gd as 1 toilet. 十万火急also cannot use. Crazy mother n FS......

try asking those ah neh to help u dismantle? I have a wardrobe left behind by the seller as well, too big to go thru the door and he actually arrange for those sweeper ah neh to come n dismantle n throw. But they came up w/o any tools and we had none for them too, so in the end my contractor throw for us. I think u give the ah neh $10 they will be more than willing to help u with a simple disposal. They can even sell the cupboard to garang guni man!

Thks lucky guy! on a 2nd tot, i better save some $ n close 2 eyes for the pipe. Since its common toilet anyway.. and only 1 pipe in the whole house will be visible to my fussy eyes. Actual truth is: i scare my hub will kill me if i say i wanna chge now! Ur pebble wash really looks more pebble-ish now! The prev one like a bit pebbles not enough. But for layman like us, nvr see nvr compare also wun know the diff.

After much time delay for hacking (i've no idea why it takes them 4 whole working days to hack 2 toilet+1kitchen)... finally things r speeding up. Shocking white groutings... After inspection today, part of it rectified, but they missed out the beam area. Kitchen tiles 80% completed! Left with wall groutings and bases. Some tiles in kitchen seems to be misaligned. My green common toilet. Floor and mosaic not completed. Kitchen wall sealed up completed. Now left w plastering.. False ceiling done. Box up of DB box done. Vent above bedrm and store rm boxed up done. We had so little time to pick our laminates. I have like 4 major items to choose for somemore... 2 tv console, kitchen cabinet, kitchen door. Some of the chosen ones... Was only given lamitak. Anyone has other choices of laminates? Pinkpetter? Taking off white for kitchen cabinet, i wonder if lamitak will turn yellow for white high gloss...

the workers did white groutings for ur grey wall tiles too? I went when i saw the super obvious white groutings in my MBR toilet. They nvr ask b4 doing... urs really like speeding up a lot!

wah!! u started reno later than me and tiles all completed! FAST!!! I think i also must start pressurizing my contractor.
