Yup yup.. Considered that as well.. So won't be doing a lot of that brown tiles.. In fact, we are still contemplating if we want to do a panel of that tiles at the shower area.. Good news is that, the tiles are pretty dark, so the dirt won't be seen that easily..

Actually, we are quite torn between the LSH and Hafary selection.. The Hafary selection has a more refreshing feel.. And the tiles can create a leafy shape.. It's very nice! LSH one is the safer kind.. Because it won't go too wrong.. Just afraid that it's too ordinary.. haha.. Now I'm thinking of how to place the dark brown tiles if we choose the LSH one.. hmmm..

We didn't go to the other stores.. But from all the feedback that I got, LSH is slightly more old school while Hafary is more new school kind.. Both are very popular compared to the rest..

Think you should go to take a look! Simple room lights cost slightly less than $100 to $200+ on average... The dining lights are around slightly less than $200 to $300+ on average... Didn't check on downlights because the downlights in my home are done up.. The price tags there are all bluff ones, you need to ask the sales assistant and the uncle that we met today told us a lot of stories abt the lights... And he seemed very willing to negotiate on the prices if you talked more with him.. Our fujioh hob (glass one) and hood costs $700.. Cannot rem model number.. Maybe Smartie can provide..

Today had a busy day selecting the toilet tiles.. We went to both LSH and Hafary... Without fail, we carried two big bags of samples back.. Now after some filtering, we are left with one combination from LSH and Hafary each... Tough decision.. We also popped by Edison lightings.. It's has a surprisingly good selection of lightings.. esp. dining lights.. And seems to be even cheaper than Chan Huat for some.. But we still controlled ourselves first and decided to continue looking around first.. We went to Poh Joo at Lavender again, prices are really cheap for a lot of things, but the things there just doesn't catch my eyes.. After some comparision, I recalled that Universal Union has a better selection of things and prices are only slightly higher than PJ.. So we went back to Universal Union for the 2nd time to buy all the remaining toilet accessories, Joven heater and rainshower.. Their prices are very attractive and surprisingly has 30% off for many items NOW.. So for those who are interested in toilet stuff, you may take a look there... Initially, we only wanted to get the toilet related stuff there, but we found that their fujioh hob and hood are also relatively cheaper, so we also settled this headache there as well.. 1 bird kills 2 stones! Since we were already at Geylang, we went to Lighting Centre again to look at our fav crystal light for the MBR.. After some discounts, we cannot helped ourselves but bought it.. More photos coming.. Really? Sounds juicy.. hee.. I only know that he doesn't like Hafary because Hafary will charge him a min. of 10 pieces of tiles each time if he needs to top up.. and they are more particular abt payment of the tiles.. LSH allows him to delay longer when comes to payment...

Finally, there's one who chose one time and chop! rare find here.. hee.. I will definitely find something I like.. But just dunno how long is my thinking process..

I see.. Uncle soon didn't mention this store to me.. He keeps saying try to choose LSH, they are good friends.. So LSH does not make life difficult for him.. LSH is more flexible..

With Boon Keng MRT, it's not that ulu anymore.. Intially, we saw something that we liked, and they want 20+K above valuation.. It's a house that I will hack almost everything.. So we gave up... I find Uncle Soon really very nice.. but he's really too busy now.. The checking has to be everyday on our part I think.. Or else certain mistakes are hard to rectify...

So in the end, we explored further and further till we reached Bishan... Congrats on your home sweet home.. Ah Soon will definitely be much cheaper than ID, but you need to project manage yourself and ID shall be the wifey...

For practicality, the one w/o island wins... It's nice to have a island if you have sufficient space to move around.. I'm trying to draw out my reno concepts now.. But none of them can be as nice as 10% of yours..

I roughly know what I want.. Not many places I can play with in our home... So toilet is one of my major playground.. Shall choose carefully.. So many times ah... We are not going to SL.. Only Hafary and LSH as they are nearer to my current house... Uncle also told me to slowly choose.. Worst case is that our reno schedule will be delayed... Uncle is really very chin cai leh.. My plan now is to go to both Hafary and LSH on this Sat.. Lugged some tiles back and mull over it.. Then confirm on Sun.. Since it's only for toilet, our scope of work has already reduced..

I can sense the frustration with your contractor.. Think he just doesn't know how to do his job well.. Since we are the customer, we pay.. So we definitely have the right to choose.. If they are able to give us valuable advices, it will definitely cut short our thinking process..
