Mould Bugs On The Walls And Roof
marshmallow replied to edelweiss's topic in Home Maintenance & Repairs
i'm getting these bugs in my kitchen, but there is no mold in the kitchen (at least from what i see). but kitchen is a high humidity area anyway... any good idea to get rid of them? -
haha same for me... i always neglect my own thread leh hahaha wah can squeeze in so many wardrobe! my mbr is so small that i wanna squeeze also cannot
-
yea that happens to me too... but i'm very auntie one, becos NTUC Plus can only accumulate points if the purchases is more than $20, so every time i will buy just nice to around $20 hahahaha that sort of control the amount i buy~
-
hi! nice to see you here hahaha yea we are quite near, i'm on the fringe of JE - just one "drain" (read: canal) away from csingeu's side of JW~ i'm not a great cook la~ just aspire and learning to be one hahaha
-
no la you can't say they charge you 3 ft more like that, you can only say their per foot run price is more ex~ 1st one is charging $220 pfr and 2nd one $165 pfr~ but you need to see what are the things these 2 different contractors will supply. pole system? etc? $220 pfr is quite common for normal wardrobe (with doors) but i can't comment on open one no info on this aspect~

depends on your spouse... my hubby, for one, violently object the idea of clear glass toilet.......... hahahaha let your contractor try first. if cannot, then i supply you some ideas on alternative for swivel wall. haha~ -
i will plan the whole week's menu first, then when i reach supermarket, may make adjustment depends on what's nice and fresh there... or simply, what's available there... every time i want to cook corn soup, somehow corn will be sold out. then when i want to make lotus root soup, lotus root will be sold out but there are tons of corn around sometimes if i didn't think ahead, i'll plan on the spot when i reach supermarket in NTUC, the packets come in different sizes... so i have experimented and know how many grams of meat etc we eat for a meal, then will buy the appropriate weight of meat/veggie if bigger packet one e.g. celery, then i plan the menu such that i will eat them twice a week, but not on consecutive days and will cook in different methods so at least it won't be exactly the same....

Congrats bearlyn!

erm if you don't know how much per foot run, how you know they charge you 2ft more from the total sum?

hahahaha i see! dunno if (3) can be done with making a hole in the existing wall? but... hmmm dun you think if you do (4), the toilet is very "transparent"? you're staying alone now so it's okie, but what if in future more pple are staying with you? or you're going to use frosted glass? i guess HDB also worried that so much hacking will "disturb" the structure of this old flat and cause problems to upstairs/downstairs neighbours~ but anyway, let your contractor handle them la hahaha -
exactly my sentiment.....
-
hahahaha "wind" and "heaty-ness" are two different matters... you can be heaty and still have "wind" sigh, talking about cleaning......... SIAN

80 x 80 tiles is easier to be uneven becos it's one big piece, it's harder to ensure that whole piece is even as compared to a smaller surface area (60 x 60 or 30 x 30). is not a workmanship problem but is a tile manufacturing problem. that's why 80 x 80 tends to be more expensive too as they will have lower yield during manufacturing and QC (harder to make = more rejects). but, if you can, use 80 x 80 cos the floor will look nicer and more spacious for tiles turning yellow, it's something like oxidation esp if there is sunlight i think. you can't reverse the process. and kitchen with white floor.... hmmmm you can read my complain in my t-blog (Page 7 or 8 i think). BE PREPARED to clean on a daily basis~ and if you are using glossy homo tiles, don't mop floor with bleach!
-
actually not good to step on cold tiles directly (even aircon not on) cos it's easier to bring "cold wind" to your body and cause rheumatism in long run. that's why even at home, it's recommended to wear slippers so parquet is good in this sense~ i wish to have parquet floor hahaha... miss the one at my parents' home.... actually $499 is quite ok leh. ikea most simple 2-seater one already cost $359 i think (or more... can't remember) star furniture feedback is quite good so far~ nice brick wall! though i will never do cos it will be a headache to clean... hahahaha

even when quotation is very detailed, when actually get the job done there will still be surprises, sometimes is not anyone's fault - slight top up is inevitable. for example, contractor does work halfway and suddenly found that there is problem in some area. he really needs you to pay more to make good that problem, we can't say quotation agree liao we won't pay him, rite? but key point is contractor/ID should be truthful and transparent to you about what happened, things can always be discussed if contractor brings up beforehand. May, i haven't seen a project that is completely without variation... haha

well at least, the most critical one i.e. the wall between kitchen and living room can be hacked. you can have you big island! hmmmm if it's really difficult, i think the 2nd option is to forego (3) and (4).... actually i see no purpose for (4) leh~ -
wah they are SUPER nice pple! while i think it's difficult to bring up kids, i also can't stand those who don't discipline their kids at public places.... even if they were busy talking to ID, they still shouldn't let their kids run around like that mah! it's not their house yet leh~

hahaha my fren threw it away... he said the design is hideous hahahaha well, HDB can't possibly please everyone yea i also very curious how the design is like...
-
what's the use of showing you the 3D from the beginning if it is different from the quote? have you gone to look for your ID's boss and bang table? i think the problem idealistic has is, the ID always doesn't tell him top up etc before hand... at least for Henry, he usually tells you upfront about the possible top-up so we can consider whether to top up or not (same case for my reno too). if he tells you not nice, you tell him back that you like it this way... hee hee hee

Flat Inspection Before Completion Date
marshmallow replied to skyvers's topic in HDB New/Resale Flats, Executive Condominiums
hahaha what he meant was, he expected other things to be taken away but he wouldn't imagine they removed the built-in wardrobe as well. can they reuse the built-in wardrobe in new house?? and my colleague got a shock cos they were expecting to keep the built-in wardrobe..... my colleague is a very nice guy. he really sian 1/2 when he saw those stuff removed, but he thought he wouldn't pursue the matter....
