  3. Heh. That is one of the few perks for buying a 30-yrs old HDB flat. LOL.. yea.. we are grateful for that.
  4. oh.. I get what u mean. We made some concessions on the swing-chair hanging location due to our L-box.
  5. I know I said before.. but wanna say again, I luv ur view!
  6. Hope you have a fast approval for your WC relocation !! Btw, care to share roughly how much it costs to relocate WC? I'm considering of doing so in the future, to make space of a bath-tub in my toilet..
  7. ## Since we're not installing a hood, we decided to have a chrome plate attached beneath the cabinets above the stove.. to protect the laminated cupboard. Initially our contractor wants to charge us $70 for it, but we managed to bargain for free in the end ## Rubbish chute is so shiny it can double as mirror in the kitchen
  8. Thanks Bluesummerayz. The swing chair is one of our favourite buys.
  9. Solid Surface Table-top installed (week 3) Also installed the kitchen sink and hob. And I like color contrast of the black colored table-top to my green-white cabinets. ## we chose to install frosted-glass doors below the sink instead of laminated wooden doors, cuz sink area definitely will get very wet easily - bad for wood. ## Honestly, we were abit disappointed on the quality of the solid table-top. There were already 2 patches of lighter shades.. and generally, the surface is not really as shiny as we expected. Probably, solid surface material is kinda dull by nature? No complaints on the workmanship and sink, hob installation though.
  10. I also want a bath-tub in my toilet... but my toilet is so small!!
  11. The addition of the picture really makes a difference to the feel.. It goes very well with the wall colors. The black mirror.. is that acrylic mirror? once again, I like the curves of ur dining chair.
  12. Wah... Open Concept Toilet! I like.. Would be even perfect if there is a bath-tub!
  13. yes yes.. small world! Hahaha.. I saw sharon's blog too.
  14. Yeah! Tmr is 摆家乐! so excited..
  15. ## The main door somehow always jammed against the door frame while opening/closing. We got our contractor to file the edge of the door FOC. Also helped us to change the main door lock. ## Our swing chair is here! ## Initially intend to place it at the balcony. But decided to hang it up in the hall instead as I reckon that would be more comfortable. The swing chair is another dream item for WTB. Glad we found a reasonably cheap one! ## got our contractor to screw the hook onto the ceiling. He was so worried it would cause damage to the floor of the unit above us. As you can see, its is rather high.. We have yet to buy a longer chain for the swing chair. For the metal frame, we will keep it as it is really a waste to throw/ sell it to karang guni Maybe use it for future baby hanging cradle?
  16. Kitchen Cabinet Carpentry in (week 2) Was glad that our color scheme turned out well! This is our only carpentry for the house. ## check out the lines..
  17. hiya Kobelala, we don't know there is such an option.. our laminated flooring was actually completed more than a month back already..
  18. I had this concern too that LED downlights might be too dim.. In the end I stick to PLC but installed less lamps to save on energy costs. Me also prefer house to be brighter Btw, you got quite a few impressive looking lamps in ur hse!
  19. Floor Laminating (week 2) "OMO" (one-man-operation). The worker from Vista spent 3 days doing up the flooring for my living hall, dining, store-room and 3 bedrooms. Here are the pics! ## There was a big gap (about 1cm) around all the door frames. Feedback to the worker and he commented such a big gap is necessary to cater to the expansion of laminated pranks, esp the sq area of my flooring is quite big.. Hmm.. we are no experts to laminated flooring so I guess we just have to take his word for it. I also found out that someone else in RT also in same scenario (and his supplier is different from ours) It also later dawned on us that the laminated flooring at the main door kerb might be damaged during town council monthly water-cleaning of common areas. you know.. those water guns used by the HDB cleaning contractor are super strong.. Asked our contractor to tile-up the kerb area but he going to charge us additional $200 since he need to get his tiling workers to come down again. So much for just that small area?! Haiz.. In the end, we decided to just take our chances and not change anything. We also managed to get quite alot of pranks from the Vista supplier as backup, FOC, in case we might want to do repair in future.
  20. I just painted my own house. It is tiring work, esp the ceiling. If you're unsure whether your fitness can take it, can try out one room by urself first Also better to have someone whom has experience in painting, to be your guide.
  21. I'm one of the many ppl whom is not a big fan of Ikea's wooden products too. (seen too many examples) But I know Ikea does carry some furniture series which is NOT made of chipboard wood. I guess you probably can bank more trust on those.
  22. I went ahead to plaster my ceilings. And I know alot of ppl did so too.
