Acetone ; speek a la hokkien style = AH SEE TONE those paintshops that sells ONLY PAINT definitely have this. any hardwareshop sells fire water / huay jiu. though some will give you THINNER instead. Spirit is not as strong as acetone...acetone can melt plastics. never use it on plastic/fabrics/painted surface. WD40 don work on rust removal. use the kleen king powder form.

  5. paint shops - as well as big time hardware shops in jalan besar.
  6. never use wooden blocks - go to those huge florists and buy bricks. i bought mine for $5 each. cos my washingmachine sit in the always wet washing area. 宝济丸 = $6 per pack only.

  19. yalor. but i do feel a simple feature wall looks good for covering up/hiding the bomb shelter, cos in some houses bomb shelter were located at at some funny location. hmm some dont call this as feature wall.....decor?

  22. some houses - their furniture costs MORE than their reno hor? simi also picket&rail wahsay fortunate that your dad giving you this advice - I learn it the hard way(creditcards). my house also full of either free(donate by relatives) or cheap furnitures(price we paid). When we first moved in - we dont even have a "presentable" TV, just a 21 inch donno how many yrs old sony from my wife's old house. now upgraded to 29" but free also

    Paint Types?

    for wood. 1) sanding 2) shellac / shee lac - hardwareshop uncles sure can understand it. Need this as the base. 3) varnish(from hardwareshops) or bodelac (nippon paint). forget all those angmoh terms - in sg, pple who sells them WONT be able to understand them.
