  1. Going to the Managing Agent for interfloor leak is barking up the wrong tree. Pls read this... http://www.bca.gov.sg/BMSM/others/strata_living.pdf Many times, I find that there are a lot of ppl who dun quite understand how things work.. and perpetually bark up the wrong tree, and eventually this will give others the impression of being trouble makers.
  2. Unless specifically mentioned in the S&P, sold "as it where". Which means.. no one is responsible.
  3. http://www.nancyquek.com/mcb_rcd.html MCB actually stands for miniture circuit breaker. Above link got some info on their purposes.
  4. Encountered same problem before, and is the wiring problem. To confirm.. u on all the aircon to max.. hoping to get a trip. When trip.. u go feel the wire or the MCB. Chances are.. it will feel hot. Could be wire, or it come be MCB. Inverter if got problem.. it simply wun work upfront. The fan move the moment is started. not 15min later. But after 15min.. it tries to achieve max output.. resulting in trip. Anyway.. even if really dunno.. troubleshoot by elimination.. is to change wiring first.. is cheapest ting to start
  5. Ask Capenter build a cabinet with a mirror in front? Can create a lot of useful storage space behind the mirror to store toilet paper, extra toothpaste, soap, cleaning detergents, etc. Can also use the cabinet to install the cove lighting. The sliding door of the cabinet is the mirror. Alternatively.. ikea mirrors quite value for $. They also got bathroom cabinet with mirror.
  6. These days.. HP got 3G + broadband.. can also watch movies.. so ... HP better hor.
  7. Eh.. seems like is pantang issue leh. Me wld think this wld not be the biggest of marital issues yet. Seriously.. need to address the pantang issue early.. it can become a big issue further down the road. Anyway.. last time.. me do own clothes.. she does hers.. not because me dun do for her.. but because my clothes are like sandpaper, her's like toufu. Wash together like sandblasting.
  8. Concrete slab for counter top are all custom made and cast on the kitchen floor and manually lifted up to the countertop. The term "Precast concrete" is referring to mass production pieces and requires a crane to install on site.
  9. Me think.. yr tile is homogeneous? Some good quality homogeneous tile.. is as hard as granite, and thus need to use those rock drill bits, meant for granite. I encountered the same issue last time. The normal masonary drill bit is hopeless with such tiles. Need to use those drill bit meant for rock, and it's suppose to be used at slow speed, with water coolant, and also patience. Still.. this will take a lot of time and patience, and tons of drill bit. Take note.. when the tip gets too hot, it loses it's sharpness, so need to dip in a cup of water often. And.. these granite drill bit is not meant for hammer mode!
  10. Technically is correct, as long as the holder is the same.. and there is no ELECTRONIC control like dimmer.. by simply changing the bulb, and change the plug (or use adaptor) will work. But then again.. caveat emptor hor.
  11. Do not use PVC. Is very old fashioned, used in early 90s. If using homo tiles, ask tiler cut 45 degree on both tile so get only 1 narrow seam down.
  12. http://www.shellgas.com.sg/site.html?page=16 Opps.. it's not a cert. Me check my file.. is a "LPG system check" chit with serialised number. In case if go boom.. can claim their insurance..
  13. The supplier of the tank gas who installed the gas hose and regulator for u wld have given u some sort of certificate about certified installation. Can ask them to come again to take a look. Teka installer no licence kind.. so can't expect much.
  14. I have seen the full range at big branches like Thomson Plaza, Great World and Marina Sq. Comes in a blue and orange packaging, made in some Europe country.
  15. My personal opinion is that if u are asking such questions, then this house is not meant for you. Such houses are "as it where is", and no one can give u added assurance. Even a Volvo in the hands of an Ah Beng with a SYT beside will not be safe.
  16. HomeFix got a section that has wide range of such adaptors. Metal ones.
  17. Best Denki also got sell but Sim Lim Tower basement or lvl 3 still much cheaper lor. Most are 110V but usually can tolerate 10% tolerance. For lamp shd be ok, but not for those who using some high tech Tesla Coil defence system.
  18. Town or tank gas? Tank gas .. check age of hoses and also to cut off all end and reclamp on new section of hose. Sometimes is also regulator, not clamped properly to tank or got dirt in tank nozzle. Town gas.. call the installer or licenced gas worker. Gas not only fight hazard.. can kena poison
  19. for me, I prefer less doors. reason is this.. when need to seach for long lost things and relatives inside the fridge, is better to open 1 door then stand back and search. If got many door, then very lechey. Many door is for better temp control, like.. got relatives want to deep freeze for 10 yrs.. then dun need to open door so often.
  20. OTP is a standard document used by a lot of ppl daily. Just because it does not state in the OTP u are using, does not mean there are no other applicable SOPs. Anyway.. anybody can do anything they want. But when things go wrong.. all industry players and lawyers play by the same set of rules.
  21. A 4ft flourescent tube is more energy efficient that a "energy saving bulb". 4 ft tube typically produce ard 70 lumen per watt, compared to ard 60 lumen per watt for CFL. Even if we talk about 4ft T5 vs tornado type, it's 93 lumen per watt vs 73 lunmen per watt. Furthermore, 4ft tube got large surface area, so need a lot of dust to bring down the efficiency. CFL... dun take a lot of dust to make it less bright. When talking about T5 for cove lighting.. take note hor. cove requires tons of light. T5 produce slightly less light but much lower consumption. May end up using a lot more T5 tubes. Normally cove use extra bright normal 4 ft tubes.
  22. Yep.. agree with Pink Petter, sofa along the wall where the proposed TV console is, and TV console to be integrated wif shoe cabinet, ie.. shoe cabinet below facing door, TV on top facing sofa. Rectangular dining table along wall opposite W.C 1. If got guests, can simply pull out to middle of hall. Fridge better to be in corner next to HS. Proposed location will cast shadow and make the HS corner dark. If really wanna be creative, me wld redo the W.C 2 corner wall nearest the HS, so that it is a 45 degree slant. Enter the toilet in a 45 degree angle. This allow the kitchen to have a wider entrance, and also shorter for Bedroom 2 to go toilet. Also makes the cross airflow better. Also make kitchen corner brighter. Anyway.. think need to do something about the number of shoes u planning to have.
  23. Normally.. if no specific theme.. then skirting shd follow floor colour. Actually.. can go IKEA to look see their showrooms. Sure got similar colour scheme. then can see whether end result is actually what u were tinking off.
  24. Err.. design got theme one mah.. unless ID = Phua Chu Kang, then any colour also can. Country theme = White door, Bali = Dark Brown. Jap = Gray Black&White= Black KTV = pink Childcare = Yellow Hotel 81 = ?? Personally.. I think shd follow same colour as yr skirting colour.
  25. There is no such thing as "surrendering the flat to a bank". Banks by law cannot hold non bank related assets. Bank will auction off the property, and any shortfall, will be a debt u will have to pay off.
