depends on the film loh go check out home-fix if you are into DIY they have it in different specs e.g. 30% heat transmission, 60% block-out UV rays but the higher the 'heat-block' percentage is, the less transparent it becomes...

actually looking out not so bad right from the photo you post, it looks pretty good

it's just a piece of transparent film that is stuck onto the glass panel depending on the quality, can block out UV rays and reduce heat entering our homes. also, in the unfortunate event that the glass shatters, the film can act as a protective layer and prevent the glass shards from flying all over the place my parents room is facing the west sun directly so likely to go for v-cool i think i took down the contact no. of a guy recommended by forummers will go back and rummage for it

maybe this thread came too late but just in case anyone still interested got someone to hack away the door frames - $300 including patching up of affected area someone else to supply door frame for the original hdb doors - $330 for supply and install door frame

but the colour is really cmi beige floor tiles with bluish grey wall tiles thought of spray painting but it seems that it's not really suitable for kitchen esp heavy users like me colour of floor tiles colour of wall tiles

another thing i learned from the turbo SA is that DO NOT drop anything sharp on the glass, heavy still not so bad reason being the sharp object may have compromised the integrity of the glass e.g. some minute crack which is not visible to the nake eye so next time something heavy drop on it, the glass will crack or worse 'explode'

i had toyed with the idea of getting a glass hob too but read about a forummer's whose glass 'exploded' while cooking think the glass needs to cool down before cleaning coz sudden drop in temperature will cause the glass to shrink too fast resulting in 'explosions' saw the turbo one, cheap but warranty for glass only 6mths guess glass is a volatile material so however careful you may be, it might still break...

hmm, i can't really comment coz a. i have not start renovation, b. i'm not doing tiling works and c. my only carpentry work is in the kitchen and i already know what i want. ah keong only gave advice on why stove should be here and not there, how best to maximise the limited space and how to arrange the drawers/doors/stove. so you already know what you want right? sorry just kaypo, why your shoe cabinet is deep? like that take shoe very difficult right? it's not so much the look but more of practicality

my class is mon, wed and fri hate the fri class esp coz it's like the weekend and still got to go school somemore class ends around 9:45 by the time reach home no need to do any other thing but sleep updated my blog with the photos either i'm too ngiao or my TO going blind liao
