  1. maybe it's just your body constitution no good nia just do breathing exercise, something like what pregnant woman learn deep breathing expands your lungs. dun need workout, can just sit down and take deep breathes enjoy your trip and take many many pix please me also want to go there leh
  2. electric hob pro - won't be so hot when you cook, more sleek in design, needs less space, no need pipe gas con - consume a lot of electricity, uses specific woks and pots, can't use claypot if you rarely cook i.e. instant noodles once or twice a month, then electric ones should do. i cook at least once a week so going for piped gas cooker. dun like cylinder gas cooker coz got to find space for the cylinder and the feeling of dread when cooking half-way no more gas
  3. this is a really headache if you complain to cpf, the company will kenna but if they found out who complain, then your wife will kenna too (kenna sack) if dun complain, then the company will just go on delaying... maybe your wife want to talk to the finance side and ask them how come like this. highlight to them that she needs the contribution to pay for the flat installment. if still cannot maybe want to consider complaining but best to have a second job ready
  4. not really more expensive leh its display price is $3.2 but i got it at $2.3 but if contractor/ID go get it the discount will be given to them instead there are quite a few that looks like marble but i just liked the design of this particular one actually my flat is still under rectification works by HDB so today they will be doing the acid wash. if the stains on the kitchen / toilet tiles cannot be removed, they will hack and relay for me. then my own renovation got to wait liao loh. got my keys on 05 Mar leh
  5. hi, you can check out this shop at eunos/ubi area called bedz & co it's opposite the nissan showroom price reasonable but service not that great friend just bought a solid tropical wood dining set with four chairs for $300 including delivery and assembly
  6. haha, i have absolutely no idea wanted to ask around to see if it's good before going down to the showroom but if i'm not wrong it's around the price of corian tops i.e. $140 - $160pfr
  7. the question is how was the question posed did they ask if they can shift in on 8 Jun regardless of the progress of resale transactions? or did they just casually ask if you will move out before 8 Jun? if they just brought it up casually and did not say anything about them wanting to move in by 8 Jun, regardless of 1st appt or 2nd appt, then there is no question of good or bad. it is not part of the term of sale, they did not say that they will only buy if they CAN shift in by 8 Jun. what kind of buyer is there??? but then again, since your parents felt that they want to do this favour, just go with their wishes loh. respecting parents decision is a good boy/girl
  8. yes it's porcelain, also commonly known as homogenous got it at hup kiong, it's 800 x 800 display price is $3.2 now my heart really pitter patter leh my bf just called to say that the tile contractor told him they are doing the washing today whether i will get new kitchen/toilet tiles or not will depend on what is the outcome this evening
  9. it's a synthetic material which is made of mainly quartz check out www.buildersshop.com.sg for more info
  10. Hi, now exploring material to use as kitchen countertop had decided on blue pearl granite but silestone seems to solve the problem of needing sealants anyone?
  11. groove lines that those grooves on the wall that demarcates a 'hackable' wall during paint works, did you patch it up? cost $150 to patch it up for my case, thinking should or should not...
  12. actually i find that different tile supplier have different tiles i only went to the shops next to each other on balestier and find that the tiles they have are quite different i.e. what you can find in one is not available in the other why i bought my tiles from hup kiong is simply bcoz none of the others carry this tile... as for the workmanship, if you have a choice who to lay the tiles choose those with reputation for good workmanship if you are not sure or worried, make your contractor check the tiles and need be check them together with him if the tiles pass inspection, then there is no excuse for poor workmanship
  13. find that the price you got is really cheap but what is the brand and how blade? me paying $170 for a 60" 5-blade fanco without lights, $260 for fanco 54" 5-blade with lights & remote and $200 for a 48" 5-blade fanco with lights
  14. thanks thanks really love my floor tiles too kudos to my tiler, heng he is not a worker of the hdb contractor very nice and did a really good job can't imagine if he anyhow do, it'll probably be very ugly whew dun know when the hdb contractor is going to finish doing everything once he hand over must call ms ng to speed things up liao
  15. hehehe, now my reno + furnishing cost has gone up to $25k and still increasing think of all the money heart so pain time for some pix skirting done but the cement still obvious study. the tiles actually dun look so nice with skirting door frame area finally patched up actually quite angry with the door frame contractor that day they asked if we want to fix back the door and we said no coz thinking of getting new doors then we decided to keep the doors and not get new doors so we told them and asked them to come down and finish the work they actually told us that this is the finished work since we are not getting the doors from them! and they charged us $110 for the door frame with installation if want them to come down and install back the doors is $50 each door = $150 jus to put the doors back into the frame got my bf to talk to them and managed to get it done with $100 i still not happy coz it's extra loh, no need to pay them one but my bf say never mind he pay so i said okay loh
  16. is that a woman thing? or maybe we are getting obsessed liao
  17. dun think can finish everything but 19 jun is a good date for me to 'move in' so thinking of taking delivery of some of my new furnitures these will be placed in the rooms where only paint work and grilles are required on one hand, i'm hoping that they won't be able to clean the stains so they will hack and relay all the tiles in the kitchen and toilets on the other hand, i'm also hoping that they'll be able to clean up all the stains so that my own renovation works can start see how undecided i am hopefully i won't regret what i have decided today
  18. went down to my nest again today found that the skirting for MBR and BR2 is still not done and the tile contractor told me last sat can finish got my bf to call him and a tiler appeared almost immediately to do it didn't see if he complete the work before we left coz got to go shopping !! we went down to jln besar to look at (again) at bathroom and kitchen accessories decided on getting 1. 2 x 4ft s/s pole ($35 ea) to hang things at the kitchen holders for bottles ($80), chopsticks/spoons ($38) and knife/chopper board ($58). 2. 5 x handle bar ($43 ea) for the two bathrooms and a L-shaped s/s bar for MBR bath so that my parents can hold on to them. 3. and tada - decided on getting the gas heater from citygas and thus can use the rainshower (set of mixer + rainshower + shower $290) !! also saw a granite-looking sink mixer ($130) to go with my blanco sink 4. misc things like mirrors ($25ea), glass shelf ($28), plastic toilet paper holders ($20 ea) and 3 tier s/s corner shelf ($38) for toiletries and a drainer for plates to be placed at the sink ($55) everything is in 18/8 stainless steel except the toilet paper holders coz the s/s ones are either too sharp or doesn't come separately hoping to get more discount seeing that we are getting so many items then we went to a shop a few doors down and ordered all my fans 1. fanco 54"/5 blades with light and remote - $260 and installation $40 2. fanco 48"/5 blades with three lights - $200 and installation $45 3. fanco 60"/5 blades with no light - $170 and installation $40 4. 2 x KDK ventilating fan 8" - $75 each without installation then in the evening met up with a forummer from sgb who is selling a s/s dish rack. 26" at $40 cheap and good so happy with my purchases today just hope that i can do my 'moving in' on 19 Jun
  19. actually won't lah really depends on the contractor loh i also didn't like any tiles from the contractor's supplier so i went and buy my own tiles and get the contractor to lay but one thing is i went down several times during the tiling works and offered the tilers drinks and brought down a fan for him so he did my tiles swee swee !! but getting tiles yourself must ask for big big discount. upfront they'll offer 20% discount, you can go for another $0.10 or $0.20 off the discounted price, depending on the price of the tiles
  20. think tristesse is referring to hup kiong it's think 3drs down from hafary got my porcelain tiles from them they have the craft stone on the second floor really nice and a lot of choices remember to bargain hard !!
  21. hi yellow, is your sink the blanco metra9? i actually paid a deposit for it too but still deciding between this or the modus m60 the modus m60 price can buy five of the metra9 leh... today spent $2k on ceiling fans and accessories for both kitchen & bathrooms !!
  22. shouldn't be a problem bah my wok is only 40cm, should fit in right? i love the dedicated workspace and the separate area for dishwashing items but the price dun know if get will regret or not... dun know if dun get will regret or not...
  23. you're welcome must make full use of the facilities banks are offering mah me might be using this to buy certain things also i'd only use the 0% IPP if the shop is the only seller of the product and refused to pass the savings on to me even Hoe Kee offers 5% off the retail price if you choose not to use the 0% IPP
