Can understand how you feel when you are preparing the big move and stocking up of the house. The few months of our stay were wallet-bleeding exercises as there were just so many things that we had to buy. My suggestion is, if you intend to hold a house-warming, get your relatives, friends and colleagues to buy household gifts. Set a wish list of the essentials you need and get them to buy off that list

Actually the floor looks quite ok... May I suggest instead of overlaying part of the house, perhaps don't do anything to the flooring and use the money to revamp the common bathroom or redo the kitchen cabinet? You may want to paint the floor skirting yourself (maybe in brown) to give it a fresh look?

Hi, there was no final inspection as Alan didn't want to see us. He knew he would receive a big scolding as he left us to coordinate everything from the 3rd week of our renovation. Since you are still on talking terms with him, please insist on a final inspection for a proper handover

Hi would anyone know of a plumber that knows how to fix a USA kitchen faucet?

We are facing problems with the pipes for our kitchen tap. We bought the Delta tap from Amazon and it is based on US fittings. Does anyone have a plumber to recommend, preferably one that is familiar with US tap fittings? (I remember seeing it on one of the threads but just couldn't recall the exact one!) TIA!

Hi yes we recycle old plastic bottles (see-through). You can use an old funnel to aid pouring or cut half of a mineral water bottle and use it as an alternative to the funnel

Haha the painter disappeared once they thought the job was over... We didn't managed to get them do the touch-ups. Yes the harder you leave the paint in the original tins, the harder it will be to open their lids. We have to pry the lids open ourselves and transferred them into bottles.

We are keeping our spare tiles and paint too. Surprisingly we found another use for the tiles-put them inside the chinchilla cages and they love it cos it is cooler. For the paint, they come in handy for DIY touch-ups! Best to re-bottle the paint as they may dry up in the original tins. We keep a small bottle for each color only - easier to keep!

Hi Trish, sorry only saw your message now. Maybe ask Gwen (My Home Vintage) to keep a lookout for you... Also she has a nice collection of dollies which I missed out recently. For the LPG gas, Bukit Batok is not piped gas-ready. So no choice
