What Type Of Stacked Shelves You Use For Your Store Room?
TYM replied to andrew77's topic in Living, Dining & Storage
Used this before, the metal frames, bolts and nuts turned rusty. And the edges of the metal frames can be quite sharp if you rub against it when getting something from the shelves. -

Ikea's shelves will do just fine. What heavy stufff do you reckon you will keep in the storeroom? -
Still open? Hmm... then mayb can go again.

There is a shop outside IMM Giant selling, but dun know abt their pricing.
-
Yes, Choo Chiang sells them. We got a few Legrand brand boxes from them.
-
Tks. Space planning wise was done with our ID. As for the furnitures and fittings, we bought them on our own. Dun want to feel presurised and obligated to buy if ID were to bring us around, prefer to look see look see slowly.

Dec 08. Running around this past week to confirm a few things. Wow, new TV liao . -
Mayb i should correct myself by saying this citygas heater is not a storage heater. Yes, u need pipings for this. And you dun install this in bathroom like an electric heater, but in an open ventilated place.
-
This city gas heater is a normal instant heater, not a storage heater. It works like a central heater providing hot water thoughout the house. For new flats, the pipes are already laid out and concealed (marked out by the red and blue tape on the wall). So all you need to do is to install the heater at a specified location (usually the kitchen or service balcony) and you will have hot water throughout the house. For old house, you will need to run the hot and cold water pipe youself, to where you want hot water. And the heater will have to be installed in an open well-ventilated space, usually the kitchen also. And dun expect instant hot water the moment you turn on the tap cos the cold water in the pipe will have to be "pushed" out first before the hot water reaches you.

Laundry In Bathroom
TYM replied to AlphaLost's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
Besides space contraint, i think the other problem is rust on the washing machine since the bathroom is usually wet and moist. Also, the washing machine will require a power socket, not sure if HDB allows the extenison of one into the toilet (I remember cannot). As for hanging of laundry in ktichen, i think that is the contraint of living in a high rise unit. Can always remove them when cooking. Else where do you suggest to hang them? Bedroom? living room? I see people hang their laundry in their living room, bedroom, all over the shop and i think this is more unsightly than hanging in kitchen. Else buy those portable laundry rack and hang them along the corridor. -

Not trying to pour cold water but even with the many normal rubbish bins provided by TC, there are already rubbish everywhere, what makes you think that people will spare the extra effort to sort out their garbage before disposing. But I do support your suggestion thou. -
Good buy (cos we also got ours from them ) Which one did u get?

Pretty quiet recently . Busy with wedding prep recently, no time to join in for THUM. Then no choice but to wait for garang guni to come by again. -

Those green colour plastic bags given out by SembEnviro to collect recyclable stuff indicate that they also collect electrical applicances. We usually put our old newspaper inside the bag and leave it outside our unit on the collection date indicated on the bags. The next collection date is on 27 June. There is a phone number on the bag, 1800-2786135. I also heard a garand guni shouting the other day, but can hear only, cannot see where is he. -
Not sure whether HDB update the renovation portion of MyHDBPage cos during my reno, I also checked MyHDPage but got the same blank page as you, even though there was a black and white reno permit from HDB. But the financial portion of MyHDB page was updated thou.
