A bit impossible to expect mid-august completion date since you have not confirm any ID/contractor. IMM is one place where there are many IDs/reno contractors but personally me never approached any from there so cannot comment. If you are only looking for contractors, you can refer to this list of approved HDB reno contractors. As for ID, they are everywhere, quite difficult to say where most are located. For furnitures, again they are everywhere but below are a few places where there are some concentrations: IMM (as you mentioned) Furniture Mall (Park Mall and Beach Rd) Sungei Kadut Courts (if you like the convenience of getting your furnitures and appliances under one roof) Furniture Warehouse Eunos Technolink and Enterprise One at Eunos/Kaki Bukit Balestier Rd and Geylang for tiles/lights/bathroom and kitchen stuff.

Go to Mayer at Great World City, look for Angie. She is a very nice lady, gives clear explaination of the features of the products, not pushy and very friendly. We bought our washing machine, hob and microwave from her.

Besides wasting electricity (need to switch on all the time to be effective), it is also noisy. If your are worried about smell, then you should not have an open concept kitchen. Or else build a glass divider.

Lcd Tv! Which Brand Is Good?

I think Samsung has a very successful marketing campiagn, such that some salesman in electrical shops tell me that even aunties can tell them that Samsung is the best and that they don't even need to promote Samsung brand. But are they really the best? There are some who says that there are only 2 panels maker in the world and the rest of the world take from them? But there are some who says otherwise. So who is right? At the end of the day, buy what you like and can afford. -
Mbr Layout Suggestions?
TYM replied to gingar's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
My MBR is roughly about the same size as yours and it is definitely not big enuf for a WIW and a king-sized bed. From the floor plan, it may look big but I think you will need to look at the actual rm before making a decision. Also, some of the space is "lost" in the short stretch of "corridor" in front of the MBR toilet. Why cannot open the windows if you place the bedhead against the wall under the windows? Is your bedhead so high? As for the wardrobe, my wardrobe will be from Closet Design. Something like this. The interior can be designed such that the air-con ledge windows can still be accessible when required. IMO, new HDB MBR/BR are too small to have a WIW, unless you join 2 rms in one. Wardrobe space is more impt, it will never be enough. -

But that will be ugly, a lot of brown tracks on the grass patch leading to the market. I tot given that our estate is still only a few months old, residents should help to take care of the nice environment. Went to my unit a few times ever since I go the keys and already can see some craked tiles and scratched lifts, probably due to the movements of heavy stuffs and renovation works going on. -

Cannot really see the dimensions of your MBR but dun think you can squeeze in a king-size bed and a wiw. Looking at the space, looks like the only place where you can have a wiw is where raincole suggested. But why a wiw? You will be sacrificing wardrobe space and the walkway for your wiw will be pretty narrow. I persuaded my FW not to have a WIW and now our wardrobe will be about 10ft long, room also look much spacious. Personnal, I would do a U-shaped or L-shaped wardrobe along the same wall. The wardrobe will cover up the air-con ledge window, but can still be accessible for aircon servicing. This is what I will be doing for my wardrobe. As for the kingsize bed, the bedhead can be against the windows (half height windows I assumed). With some nice window curtains, I think it will be pretty nice. -
Was at Lightzone in Balestier in the afternoon and thats what the sales staff told me also. He showed me a sample of the ballast and they have the kangaroo logo and the "Made in Australia" wordings also. But then, he did cautioned that even imitations can have these two things printed also, so now I also dun know how to verify.

My understanding, for HPS, yes if you are using CPF to pay for your house. HDB - HPS CPF - HPS FAQs Another thing that is compulsory when taking HDB loan is Fire Insurance. HDB - Fire Insurance -

Anyone Know Where To Buy Nice Leather Rocking Chair?

Can try Soflex for this type. -
I think HDB has forgotten her roles and her Vision and Mission. 18 years ago, my parents can buy a 4-rm HDB flat for $62K, today I must pay almost $300 for my own 4-rm flat (but of much smaller size). With the combined income still set at $8k (unless we take bank loans, which is another set of problems), I am beginning to wonder how much longer can the lower/middle inccome earners "afford" to buy HDB flats, no thanks to its ever-increasing prices. Recent newpaper articles already reported young couples planning to get married and set up homes may have to hold back plans due to the property prices, HDB included. Maybe it's time HDB be more transparent and reveal the actual costs of new buildings, and how much profit is made per unit (incidentally, not its core mission).
