wow ! 24 ports. you are running a serious computer setup there Will you be keeping the devices running 24x7 ? can share your cooling strategies for the modem and switch ? i am thinking of installing a ventillation fans (similar to those in desktop pc), 1 inflow fan and another outflow fan to keep things cool

there are several owners that hack whole stairs. I think kooky even changed the orientation of the stairs.should not be a big problem. the advise to see your neighbours' is a good one. take a look at how theirs are constructed. it will give you a good idea.

the LED downlights and the water faucets please, if its not too much trouble. I am contemplating the lights issue. and may copy your idea of cove light in the stair well... btw, did you install ceiling fans in the upper floor rooms ?
