  1. Dear MsBunny! Welcome welcome! Finally new addition to the family of the 2-roomers! Just read your 1st blog post and wow! nice humour u got there! Thought u shd name MsMeow instead of MsBunny? LOL! your floor plan... hmmm.. interesting... but... looks difficult!? no household shelter? what is the foyer for? headache... Let me continue on your blog posts. Hope to share more of your reno journey with our fellow 2-roomers here ya.
  2. not keen on bathtub. got my L-shaped screen to separate wet and dry areas i happy liao.
  3. I agree that it may looks crowded but I thought it maximise the small room that we have. But IF I were to do similar design, I will be using a super single bed and without the top false ceiling. my room size is 3575 x 3150 I can only see 1 side of my toilet is 1915. the other side unidentifiable.
  4. http://www.contemporist.com/2015/04/26/this-teenagers-bedroom-has-a-built-in-bed-and-storage-for-almost-everything/ How do you all find about this bedroom set up?
  5. my only impression is also the one at HDB showflat... But I think the size of my unit is different from the one I saw at HDB hub. Varying did posted 1 picture on post #48. I wanted a L-shape shower screen and the contractor advise that I have to hack and re-build 1 of the door, if not it is impossible to install the L-shaped screen.
  6. I assume your bay window comes with storage? Open via the sette on top? Where did you get the white open shelves and the cost please? Thanks in advance.
  7. wah! u lagi kiasu! Waiting for varying to start T blog!
  8. Actually I think mine still got half a year to go... lol, but I kiasu, now already start talking to contractor to get quote liao...
  9. I am also going to contractor too. 2 quotes both at $15k -_- For tiles, from what I understand from the T-blogs, it is simpler to just overlay. If want to replace, need to go through the water proofing again. Please check with your contractor.
  10. waiting for the after! U got a contractor or ID? Want to start a T-blog?
  11. Thanks for the reply. The reason I asked is because I prefer ABS trimming and in 1 of the other ID's quote, she only specify ABS trimming in the kitchen carpentry but not for the bedroom and living room carpentry. I got your contractor's detail quote yesterday after I post this question and he specified on all the carpentry works that it comes with ABS trimming. I like his detail quote. though it is still above my budget... lol Btw, he includes free 3D drawing now...
  12. Sorry, what do you mean by your login account was changed by RT admin? They can change our password?
  13. Is ABS trimming a norm in the market for ALL carpentry works?
  14. Glad to see your contractor gives you quality works!
  15. I mentioned above that I got my 1st quote from 1 ID at about $18k. That starts myself from thinking... do I want to spent that much of $$ on renovation alone, exclude furniture and electrical appliances...? My answer is a BIG NO! I started to research more and join Renotalk to read about other people's reno journey. Inspired by Benetay's TBlog: http://www.renotalk.com/forum/topic/70245-21k-theme-less-3-room-bto/ Do I need a featured TV wall? How much time I spent watching TV? Is there a need for a TV in the 1st place? Later on, inspired by arnold's TBlog: http://www.renotalk.com/forum/topic/70921-4-room-bto-simple-home/ Platform seems to be a good idea to solve the storage issue? since our floor area is limited, why not look into vertical instead of horizontal? So far, these are some rough ideas I have. General recommendation is: need to spend time to do homework to know what you want and what you dont want.
  16. Hi Cherry Welcome! Mind to share a few pics of your new house by your ID? TIA.
  17. Hi Yelena, have you feedback to your contractors about this problem and what are their answers?
  18. saw this: https://www.facebook.com/stypeconcept
  19. during the batch of BTO, I get to choose between Teck Whye (ready built) and Keat Hong. So I chose Keat Hong. Both in CCK in case you are wondering.
  20. LOL, I know I was lucky. But back then, I was really nervous b4 the selection and every day check HDB website for the balance units not selected. Cos it is my 1st time, I am not sure if I will get the chance to choose a unit or not. need minimum 4 pax to drop their selection before I get a chance. And it is a mixture of high and low floor, so have been having dilemma if I only left with low floor to choose, do I still want it? I also get to choose between 2 different estates, 1 is ready built and can collect keys few months after selection and the other ready in another 4 years. I visited the ready built one and decided against it even though all the units are at high floors because of afternoon sun shining at the living room & bedroom + the block consist of only 2 room and 3 rooms. So I was really lucky to be able to snatch the last high floor unit at the new BTO estate. I was oversea holidaying with family and can only get my cousin to help to select my unit at HDB. phew~ My batch is still consider BTO although they only have 47 units of balance flats thrown out. Dunno also...
  21. yours how many m2? bedroom indeed is smaller, but you have a bigger kitchen. This is my actual unit.
  22. Your experience sounds like 1 of my friend who had been trying for every BTO until he got it, think last year.
  23. ehhhh... i got my unit at my 1st try ;p did not apply in the jul 2013 bto cos dont have the estate i want. My q # is 51. Looks good hor. But only 47 units available. Lucky to get a unit. High floor too.
