Yep.. the light holder (term used by lights shopkeeper) has got good and lousy type. a shopkeeper taught me how to see the difference and how a good one even if spoiled by lousy tube or prolong use will still be safe and usable for donkey years wheareas a cheap one after maybe short circuit or prolong use will no longer be able to use anymore and may even pose some safety issues when changing of light bulb. I also got attracted by the $18 downlight with 2 tubes initially until i got to learn the above.. and for long term sake still feel more investment is needed rather than to look for those on sales which translate to lousy light holder even if they are giving you osram tube and atco ballast. Try to walk around a few stores and try for yourself and ask more qns to the sales staff. Though not many are willing to teach..

Maybe you can try calling this shop Lightz D Shop @ 6398 0251 they seems to be very well versed in lights.. though the boss (i think) quite proud but lights quality are good..

actually it's a bit difficult to compare by prices purely by the brand of the ballast and tubes they provide and the single or double tube. The quality of the holder plays an impt part too.. got to take a tube and try to pluck into the downlight holder and feel for the difference..

Can somebody advise me.. recently i installed powder coated window grilles in blue same as the colour which HDB had provided for the windows. However the 4 corners of the window grilles and the keys lock knob is in white colour. According to my supplier, those areas are in PVC hence cannot be powder coated to be uniform with other areas. Is that true? Pls

Did you install Blum soft closing for all drawers and doors for your kitchen cabinets? It's like $100+ per runner right? Was it in your kitchen cabinet quotation package or you got to top-up to get the Blum?

My ID told me the same thing too.. quite impossible to cut the glass to fit the edges around the hood area. There will be many jagged edges of the glass which will look unglam! Alternatively is to stick matching laminates of your kitchen cabinets on the wall tiles to give a nicer finishing.

A 7 feet high shower screen would ensure rain shower doesn't spill over to the dry area.

hihi LGG Mom bought the orange kebaya at Katong Shopping Centre. It's the one along East Coast road at the junction of the new condo development, Seaview and Amber one. The basement there's one Peranakan shop that sells two kinds of Kebaya, the cotton cheaper kind and the more expensive emboidered kind. The cheaper one is $50++ and the other one is $200+ I think. BUT HOR... after my mom bought she regretted a little. Cos she went to Geylang Serai during the Hari Raya season and saw SO MANY there.... and for cheaper also. If you're buying for special occasion... there are handmade ones at Siglap Centre. VERY nice and good quality and each one is unique cos you pick out the patterns and she make customised complete design for you. But..... it does come at a price. Thanx! yep for a special occasion.. budget around $200+ so shall pop by Katong Shopping Centre peranakan shop where your mom bought.
