  1. Hi gals, I had an option for MTM wedding gown too...but I traded the option for more photos...hehe... It depends on individual la...some gals want their perfect dream gown...so they have to replicate it from scratch....but for me...photos more important than the gown...hehe...so I chose off the rack... Another reason is I worry that if I make the gown myself...I will have to wait a long time to even try it for the first time....I won't know if the design and style suits me afterall...if I don't like the end product...a lot of time will be wasted lor... But the pros is MTM will fit you a lot better than OTR...I altered mine a few times before I was satisfied with it....
  2. Hi, At my hubby's place, I wore the wedding gown for tea ceremony. Then I changed to kua before going back to my parents' place for tea ceremony. Actually I felt relieved to change into kua cos' its so comfy...hehe...compared to my bustier wedding gown...hahaha...kua also looks nice in photos cos' of the bright colours....
  3. Hi! Just posted two pics on my blog of my purple walls...hehe... Our Cosy Home - Purple Walls
  4. hi ladyluck...you can try visiting the temporary market near outram mrt....there is a stall specializing in wedding accessories there...
  5. hi ladyluck... i am a bit confused....hee...are you the bride? if you choose to be married from a hotel...most probably your family will stay with you the night before the wedding...so that early next morning everyone will be there when the groom comes to pick you...no need to rush...
  6. Ya lor karen77...now I come up with my own schedule...if possible every two-three days iron once...then won't kill myself...but usually I am more motivated to iron on weekends...weekdays come back very tired liao...hee...tempted to log on instead....lucky hubby willing to help out on vacuuming and mopping sometimes... Hubby ever ask me whether I want to buy a steam cleaner...perhaps I should go take a look at Novita...hee..but the sleeve lines must still be ironed by conventional iron right...
  7. hi bunbun & fifteenmay... okie i try to post some pics for you soon cos' i am currently using hubby's laptop...hee...all the pics are stored in my own laptop...i am in the midst of beefing up my blog content gradually...
  8. I am a living testimony of living in purple...hehe...half my living room walls are purple...it acts like a feature on its own when contrasted with the rest of the walls...it also compliments my wallpaper...hee...our master bedroom bedhead is also purple in another shade... Our theme in the house is purple, red, black and light ash grey...
  9. Hi, I love suspended cabinets!! My mum's cabinets already lasted her 5 years plus...still ok...when I had my own place I oso opted for suspended ones...now they are about 8 months old.... The pros about it is it is easy to clean the floor and it makes the kitchen looks bigger... The cons is you will be having less storage space compared to a full cabinet length... Not too sure about the weight it can sustain though but if it can already hold the weight of a sink and a stove...think the way the carpenters install it should be quite safe...
  10. Hahaha...when I saw this thread I really wanted to laugh cos' I realise I am not the only one who think this way! After only being married like 2 months plus I find that the laundry is never-ending too...hee...fortunately now only two of us... The ironing is worse!! Gotta make sure hubby got 5 nicely ironed long sleeved shirts every week...can't seem to catch up fast enough to clear the mountain of clothes leh...hehe...
  11. Hi ladyluck... It all depends on whether your co-ordinator willing to give you lor. Mine gave hers readily without me asking...hee... At my time, I chose an OTR gown cos' I can see the end result of how I look immediately without having to wait for it to be made. Hehe...and yah...during gown fittings...my view is don't get too many people to go with you...just your hubby and perhaps your sis/best friend/mum who can offer you good advice. Too many people will confuse your decision cos' everyone has something to say....most importantly..chose a gown that looks good on you...keep your options open to gowns which you may not really like at first glance but after trying you would be surprised how nice it looks on you...it does happen!
  12. Hi, Usually the bride gets married off in her maternal home (the home she grew up in). Even if both of you have already moved to the new home, she can return to her maternal home the day before your wedding so that you can fetch her from there. Hehe..think this is what most people would do lor...it is also possible to get married off in a hotel room if it is not convenient to CHU JIA from the maternal home...
  13. Hi! I saw the type of sink you mentioned at these two places... Sim Siang Choon Hoe Kee You can also get toilet accessories from these two places. And yes, IKEA also has their own range of accessories too! Happy Shopping!
  14. Hi! Do you mean the cement screed for the areas that you want to have laminate or parquet flooring? Yes, HDB does provide that kind of service for new flats. Just visit the town council office and make an application. It may take up to 2 weeks depending on your estate schedule. Do prepare a duplicate key for them when applying. You can save quite a bit instead of engaging your own contractor to do the screeding!
  15. Hi fifteenmay...wishing you all the best! Hope you can get the dates you want! I had my banquet at Novotel Clarke Quay...if you might be considering NCQ too...just ask me if you need more info....
  16. Hi, You can try DUCK mold remover...quite effective...my mum has been trying to scrub her stubborn shower screen mould (those that resides on the silicon area) for the past few years...but nothing could remove them except this...heehee...now she is very happy...
  17. Sorry for the empty post. Well Wilson, how big is your wall? They usually quote based on the size of your wall and the rolls of wallpaper required. I had mine from Goodrich too (through my ID) and I paid about the same price. It also depends whether the wallpaper you chose is in the more expensive range. Although a bit heartache paying so much just for a wall, hehe, I think it is still quite worth it as they are quite reliable in terms of workmanship.
  18. My parent's home is fully laminate (all rooms and living room) and my mum has been using the same method of vacuuming first, then using MagicClean/ KiwiClean diluted with water to mop. Its been more than 5 years already and our flooring is still maintained pretty well. At my current place, I do the same thing for both my homo tiles and laminate flooring. It always feel squeaky clean after a good mop! A thing to note though, do not leave puddles of water on your floor cos' the water may seep through the gaps. Wet mopping is OK provided you squeeze your mop dry (not dripping wet kind) before mopping.
  19. Hi fifteen may... Probably you can ask for more carpark coupons if most of your guests drive? I had 30% of confirmed tables....but different hotels have different perks lor...hee..
  20. Hi gals, I was a Novotel Clarke Quay bride last December. I held my wedding banquet at their Cinnamon Ballroom. For some pictures of the setup, you can visit my blog. I would recommend it for the reasons below... 1) if you are having a mid-size banquet (fits 20-25 tables) 2) banquet food is not bad (comments from food-tasting and actual day guests) 3) the ballroom is situated on a level of its own (you have your own private space for reception) 4) ballroom has direct access to carpark and lifts 5) service ok 6) price is reasonable for those looking for a hotel location 7) hotel venue is quite accessible for those who take public transport (there is Clarke Quay mrt and bus-stops nearby) 8) parking is adequate for those who drive 9) cosy ambience 10) almost "pillarless" ballroom (one small pillar at the side) Just my two cents worth! !!
  21. Hi! I have been using asiarooms.com to book accomodation for my free and easy trips the past few years. For Bangkok alone I think I have used them about 4 times and they never fail me! Check-in is usually a breeze based on the check-in voucher you print from the transaction. There are reviews about each hotel too...look for one that suits your budget! Hope you have a happy holiday!
  22. Hi, just to share what we chose for our wedding march-ins last Dec.. 1st March-in Song: Open Arms by Journey 2nd March-in Song: For The First Time by Kenny Loggins These songs really touched my heart and they are suitable for march-ins that take about 45 seconds to 1 minute to reach the stage. I got them from a compilation CD album.
