My design & build 4A flat comes with ceramic fllooring. If I got the money, I replace all. The workmanship is so terrible that not only my unit, a numbers of my neighbour/friend's unit floor have very bad crack even after the replacement by HDB. Another bad workmanship is uneven flooring. My girl slipped in the toilet and get a cut by the tile. Now not only flooring, my wall tiles also started to crack here and there.

I think your table frame needs to be 6 legged. If u choose square or rectangular stainless steel tubing, the hairline finishing is cheaper than the BA finishing. For round tubing, the BA is cheaper than hairline. Ask your fabricator to use at least 3mm thk for sealing the leg and use 3/8" thk stud with nylon as glide for levelling and protection to your floor as the marble top should be quite heavy.

Hardware shop that sell wrought Iron like www.kimguanhuat at AMK pk 2 and sheng li at Blk 22 Woodlands link and Diy shop or hardware shops like the one at 888 Woodlands Plaza. One can. one litre is about $30/- Suggest u get the less exp. type like causeway paint from Chye Seng at AMK ave 3. 1 litre is about $10/-.

In industrial, thinner is often use to remove turpentine base paint but thinner 'melt' plastic. Not sure on handle. Suggest u use turpentine to soften it and scrap if off with your finger nail. - normal paint came off easily when applied on plastic surface.

Where To Buy Woods, Timber, Planks, Plywoods, Laminated Sheets
gladyslim replied to KayLan's topic in DIY Corner
Get a pce of unwanted plywood, paint & see for yourself what u get. U use emulsion, a get powdery ply after the water absorbed by the plywood. U use solvent base paint, u get very bad finishing U use solvent paint on the white PVC, u get ....... try yourself. U should get DPVC ply and get the white colour pvc edging to have a complete finishing. -
The paint shop along AMK ave 3 should be Chye Seng paint, a shop for more than twenty years. It carried a higher quality of paint like Nippon Auto paint and causeway paint. I once checked regarding the price difference to those Diy shop and was told that there is a difference in quality. U see the printing on the can is different. Choo Lip has a branch at Blk 531 Amk and Fupizat has a branch at Blk 103 Yishun but these 2 places' price are higher. There is not much difference in terms of price. All goods are normally sold at Rcp. Trust me, I have been sourcing and buying paints and other hardwares for furniture and metalworks industry almost 20yrs.

E-store by power J is located at Blk 1 Yishun dealing in hardware supporting the wooden furniture industry. their paint; Siem Seng paint is just next door. Compare the price and qualities. There are 3 more hardware shop at the opposite row., #01-01 Fupizat, #01-02 and #01-23 xin huat. At Fupizat, u can get steel angle bar, cut to size for your store room. The carriage bolts for fastening is very much cheaper than other stores. Most store sell 10 cents per set but this shop sold me $6/-per gross. U can get plywood & cutting services at #05-33 Cher Huat but their wood is mostly china ply. For stainless steel shower scrren rod ands/s backing for kitchen, go to #06-36. Mirror and glass at #02-18 seng huat. Everything under one roof, so convenient. I get my paints from Choo Lip paint at Yishun central; near to the entrance to the multi carparks. The bottled turpentine is only $1.50, the 1 litre bordelec paint is only $12/- and the 1litre varnishing paint is only $10/-.

Cam lock is known as 钩 锁。 U can get it at the following: Kim Men, seawalk, thye seng, xin huat, power j, fupizat, Blk 22 woodlands link, blk 5024 amk and kaki bukit etc... view this: www.seawalk.com. - Architecture ,- locks - cabinet locks; Jasmine cam lock 607/25; the cylinder core is 25mm long, - jasmine c l 607/30 is lenght 30mm

Wooden door or Steel door? unless u use air brush, it is common to see brittles lines. u need to paint several coats, using good brushes and gently brush without heavy forces onto the surface. Quick dry paint is thinner base which is use on steel surface. Remember to use the same thinner base surface coat. (if u add thinner as a solvent on those turpentine base paint, u get 'jellies', the paint curdle.

Anyone Knows Where To Buy Pu Foam For Making Seaty Cushion?
gladyslim replied to Hseeker's topic in DIY Corner
Drill some holes on the plywood and maybe sew some buttons on the cushion. Simple mounting is to use max bond. U might have problem to flip up your storage compartment if u secure the headbd with brackety becos u might need to make a thicker plywood frame and trimming for the installation. -

I don't know where to get stuffs at very good prices and I never made headbd b4. Just go to any carpentry shop near your area as u are not buying much. U can try www.Renown at Blk 1 Yishun st 23, #06-45. This furniture factory get their stock from Moscan buidling mat. at AMK pk 2 but this moscan does not provide cutting services. There is a wood supplier at level 5 but their stock is from china, I notice there are sign of worms attack on their BBCC ply. As for fabric, maybe try textile centre. Unless u are using velvet, I would say water repllent mat like the scotch guard can be dust off easily. There is fire retardent mat where u see in most typist chair. It is about $20/-pm from Hwa Tat Lee or the cheaper range about $12/- from weng heng but it discoloured. U mount the headbd onto the wall or on the divan set? If divan , u have to use m/s supoort and I suggest u use wing nut with countersunk bolts instead of self tapping screw. -
check with this company fabricating wrough iron grilles. Twin Full Engineering Tel: 68541286

I used to buy 4" thk sponge mattress from them; the cheapest range for single bed size. A few yrs back, it's about $14/- where I ordered one whole lorry, 40pcs mattresses & 40 pcs pillows. For your own use, get the better quality foam. It should be cheaper without the covering. One thing to take note is, it is better to buy the whole single bed size sheet than asking them to cut into size as u need to pay more for the cutting. There is a thread in this forum on diy headboard, see whether there is any better place to buy. Tah Li Thong Foam Industry: 67522626- 28 Senoko Way Hua's Foam: 62893388 - 1 Defu Ave 2 -
Contractors normally stick to their usual supplier at a better price. For small qty or thinner thickness,I will get it from Dama. Others, there are better co to get a better price.
