Hi Alvin,

How was yr renovation? Who is yr ID? I have just signed the contract with Fuse Concept. Quite worried about the design as my ID dont seem to know what I want. Also we have differing taste when it comes to colour coordination. Pls share with me yr experiences.

Hi Sparrow,

Think the ID is Steve and Keith, written in the blog above.

Hi everyone, am new here..just found out about this forum..well i have just signed up with Fuse Concept..Id is Steve and kelvin, was wondering has anyone signed up with them before..so far i have a extemely good impression about them with their daring designs and working attitude.. my quote is arnd 40+ K abit on the high side for me..but for the design and items they are giving me really feel its value for money..hope someone could give some comments thanks once again..btw anyone here stays at JW area Blk 600 +.. i just got the flat through a WIS//

I signed with Fuse Concept after a 4-month long hunt for a ID. I have started renovations last week and so far things are looking good.

I think the most important thing is you must be able to get along with your ID and that he must share your sense of design for your house.

I think my ID has been fantastic in this area. He knows exactly what I want and has been able to propose designs that really captures the spirit of what I want.

As to add on my earlier comment

Word of advice for those who is thinking of taking of Fuse Concept. Take quotation from the electrician and compare the pricing before letting them start the electrician works. = /

Best is find your own reliable electrician.

Realised each ID of fuse concept may have their own electrician /aircon man or shops they tend to buy things from.

I went through the electrician sub forum of renotalk and realised that some of the forum users (alot) in fact are being charged 3k plus for their electrician works. I think it is very hard to judge whether we are overcharged or not. Maybe the point was moved from here . My point is each home electrician works are different so perhaps first-timers will find it hard to judge.

So as long you find the price is reasonable, everything is fine. ;)

so as long you feel in 'safe hands'!

It's important that you trust your ID . also in the hope that IDs can deliver to their promises.

As a first timer who is renovating, i was very lost whether my ID can deliver but so far so good. A little hiccups here and there but it's halfway done now and and i truly (at this moment) feel i made a wise choice in choosing Fuse concept and choosing my ID. =D

oh u think one is the senior is and the other is a junior, the theme for my place is modern, spacious look... now waiting for the 3d drawings to come out..cant wait hehe... of coz i also ask for discount already but i guess all this they already give allowances already..anyways feel their design and what they are giving me are value for money..hopefully someone here has used them before and can give me some input...but overall they give me a very professional feel from them..

Hmmm AlvinW my ID is not them so can't really comment. How come they so good give you two IDs? What's your theme for your flat?

I think most importantly the ID must be able to understand what you like and also be able to bring out value of your $$$! haaa.

as long it is so no body can tell u it's not value for money.

Fuse Concept is not the cheapest around but i think they have pretty good IDs in there. great designs. Can ask them for discount on the quotation one. dun be shy... in singapore u must bargain. bargain for price den bargain for free things...

"Other ID firms are just quoting sky high prices giving me normal space planning or the usual ideas. Sometimes i ask those firms questions like "so how would do up the cabinet or wall feature" and they would plainly tell me "designing part can come in later, we can go thro many designs to fit the one you like; don't worry can do any design".

hi people,

im very new to this forum. juz check it out since im also intending to renovate my house so that i can call it a home..ehheh. juz wanna share my experience while looking for perfect id..heheh

i really agree with mercury that some other firm (or should i call them contractor firm??) they are like 'trash can' everything also can attitude but i believe they are more keen on getting us signing the contract coz after that we can do nothing but have to proceed with the contract.

im now looking for ID to do my place and from what i see after so much surveying, ID should propose everything to us from concept to materials, colours, style, etc as these are their specialities and furthermore they understand the design intention. i understand all these when i actually just look see look see at the higher end design consultants. i even had a chance to go thru one when a fren of mine engage one of them.u noe those consultant firms who specialise in design. i also understand from my collective survey that designers should understand the construction when he/she propose the intented design may it be feature wall, cabinet etc as they are the one who will direct the contractors to do it. these id will show u wat they call storyboards or watever it is called and even the construction drawings. very convincing and i felt very impressed and secured as its could be considered stated black and white that the intended design could be done. the best part when they show the 3d computer generated drawing of how your house would look like and from there we could alter things that we want to change. its all in the paper before its done up and we could expect the outcome. BUT THE SAD THING IS THAT THESE FIRM COME WITH A PRICE :sport-smiley-004: sianz.

im still looking ard...will be getting my house somewhere late this year......

Hi All,

we met up with 6-7 IDs and only Fuse Concept was able to make us sign on the spot. Totally Wowed over (no not the kind of WOW Windows Vista gives but rather the wow APPLE gives.. hee) by the ideas and details of the design he was able to provide. We thus decided to go with them and sign on the dotted line.

Perhaps it's because he was around the same age so we were more comfortable with his ideas rather the boring & conventional ideas proposed by the other ID firms.

The main point is we wanted our home to be special.

Pricewise, they are higher than mid range but i feel with the in-depth design and advice they are proposing it is pretty worth the money (at the moment at least... haaa wait till my renovation start den see how it goes).

Other ID firms are just quoting sky high prices giving me normal space planning or the usual ideas. Sometimes i ask those firms questions like "so how would do up the cabinet or wall feature" and they would plainly tell me "designing part can come in later, we can go thro many designs to fit the one you like; don't worry can do any design".

My ID from Fuse Concept was more well prepared than this. from design to details on the cabinet to materials, he could clearly explain and even showed us materials that he would be proposing. He took 2 weeks to come up with the design. Other firms made us wait for 2 weeks and give us quotation only. kao.

Wonderful! My ID actually convinced my wife to keep the balcony that i wanted to keep.

Oh well, words mean nothing. Pre-Sales talk is always like heaven.

Let's hope when my home is all done up and ready, the photos will convince the potential fuse concept customers to sign up with them. =D

Stay tuned.

Hi pilot,

its kinda confusing here on those comments on him, you seem to be another happy home owner with Andrew?

simply put - the designer and the client both has a role to play in order for the project to progress well. YES i am another happy and satisfied new home owner, with Andrew as my interior designer. :sport-smiley-004:
