陈家丽室 Our Home ...

Recommended Posts

Dear all,

Our renovation has just started last week and we are really excited to share the progress of our house with all of you. The forum has been a really valuable source of information and also an inspiration for the both of us.....

After sourcing for many many months, we have finally decided to work with Loyd from Dhome as our ID. His ideas are very refreshing and he is able to do constructive space planning for us even though we had alot of restrictions right from the start due to the fengshui of our house. Also, we were impressed with his previous work and so we hope to create a beautiful home under his guidance.

And here comes pictures :sport-smiley-018:

Here is our original floorplan.... with inputs from our fsm.

And this is our final floorplan... after much discussion with loyd.

The hacking to be done....

More pictures to be up soon......

Hi Rasfene, Welcome to RT.

From the middle plan, I can see you have 2 entrances to the door, is it due to the lift upgrading that they open more door to facilitate leveling with the lift landing?

Care to share your location?

Thanks

Bukit Batok. Yup. We are one of those blocks that will have this second door. The other alternative to the lift upgrading is to have the lift positioned at the middle of the stairwell, meaning we still have to travel up a flight of stairs, which i think is ridiculous.

Hi Rasfene,

Enjoy your reno with Loyd.

Thanks Mickey, we have been keeping close tabs on your blog actually hah.. btw your house is shaping up real nicely!

I just realise your handover date is end April. Must be strict with Loyd if you want to have your ready by then. :)

haha ya... I sort of got a sense of that from your reno. he's not like the detailed guy that keeps to schedules... more like artist? ha... But we really like his designs and his ideas, especially how he did the space planning for us while incoporating our fengshui needs.. and also we have some leeway in terms of the handover date.. (not telling him that  )

Thats the same for us! One of the best thing about the unit is that is big and squarish, unlike some flats with oddly designed living rooms etc...

You shouldn't post that in renotalk. Ha. In case he sees this. :)

And do take note no matter how well the design is, please confirm it can do done. Drawing and execution is 2 different things altogether.

Hihi, a quick update on our hacking process.

The house looks really spacious right now cos we hacked down many walls to make space for a new bedroom and an ultra big MBR.

Our balcony. Hee, guess the workers are really making themselves comfy in the house. :D

As you can see, our storeroom has been hacked away and now our mbr joins up with the adjoining bedroom to form an ultra big space!

New updates!!

Went shopping with loyd last tuesday and bought a whole lot of furniture from OM.

First up, our TV console. Its about 2.2m long cos we do not intend to mount our big big tv so have to get a big and sturdy console.

console.jpg

Our coffee table which consists of 2 separate pieces that can act as side tables as well.

Sofa. Ours is going to be in black instead.

A lounge chair, to be placed in the living room as well. We ordered this in sexy, passionate RED.

And lastly, a pair of cushions in striking zebra prints. :)

Now feeling very light as our pockets are very dry. Doing up a nice house is really expensive!
