Ideas For Planters At Balcony

Recommended Posts

Hi

Need some ideas on how to best utilise the planter at the balcony

1) decking to cover planters to increase size of usable space for balcony

2) covering planter with soil and grow grass or small plants

3) put potted plants in them (personally think this will look ugly)

Any other ideas would be welcomed!

Never fill up with soil. Must always use pots in sunken planter.

If the planter ever get choked with and water cannot drain out, it will be very interesting.

Put pots and then fill up the voids with those clay coloured expanded clay granules.

Can mix decking over and pots.. dun need be consistent.

Do not fill it with soil. You have issue nexttime. To pack the whole place with plants in pots so that you can not see what is below. If there is any dead platns just have to replace that only one. ?hope this help

hi, if u really like turf, why dun u consider artificial turfing? maintenance is by vacuuming, it's on a platform, so choking is not a concern. Call Tai Kwang Gardens, says referal from Donald (9 Lives Pte Ltd)

Curious to know have you found your solution to planters at balcony? LAst Saturday newspaper had a feature article on landscaped balconies. I called the designer named in the article and guess what: a similar landscaping for my little balcony will set me back $5k! Using Merbau instead of Chengal wood some more! Am still thinking about it...

Balcony landscaping usually starts from $1000 onwards, depending on the plants you want. Does $5k include vertical greenery?

$5k???!! then i rather buy nice furniture than spend on that.

I haven't really found the solution but I talked to a few IDs, they all say drainage and flooding is going to be a problem, not to mention management approval Plus the high maintenance. We need to find landscaping specialists, will let you know if got any further info.
