You can still hold it.

Just don hold to those who have big mouth and bla bla bla with FS stuff. :bleah:

Haha....actually I wouldn't mind if someone has 'good' advise. It's just that some folks only know vague FS stuff....then give strange advise....

One friend said cannot have open concept kitchen....something about stove = female, so should be hidden away from view, cannot let it be seen...

Sounds really strange to me.....I didn't know appliances got differentiate between male and female....

I also had a hard time choosing ceiling fan because too many brands out there.

But to help you narrow down the correct brand/models to choose from based on the following requirements (importance from top to bottom):

1) Choose the correct size

2) Need Light or not. If need light, then LED or bulb ?

3) Budget

The following are just minor factors you want to consider:

4) how many blades? (more blades, more wind)

5) DC motor or AC motor (I heard that DC motor is quieter and energy-saving but wind not strong)

6) Design / colour

7) need remote control ?

8) blade material (wood blades I heard is heavier and wind not so strong)

If still can't decide even after narrowing down based on the above-mentioned requirements/factors? then try different brand/model in each room. :bleah: which i did; fanco for living and kdk for mbr

i don't really like fan with lights... doesn't seemed pleasing to the eye..

Agree it may not really look good but the thing is if i don want fake ceiling (L Box) type, i may have to choose that as lights mounted on ceiling will have shadows from the fan.

how about track lights?

Thanks for the suggestion.

That is the main idea but I am afraid track lights may not be able to cover the total brightness of the place so the fan is a secondary idea back up
