heard from neighbour a few break in happened at our block recently, decided to play safe and change the lock since reno is finishing. also heard some negative feedbacks abt digital lock (how easy to pick etc) but we like to convenience of it, no chunky keys to bring around. we picked this samsung P718 because we like the push n pull to open feature, no need to turn the handle :D

there is something i wanna warn you guys, my experience with HOE KEE is horrible, beyond words.

we went there to buy cos i heard they offer the cheapest storage heater (Joven), however they mention must be more than $500 to be eligible for free delivery. We wanted to get a new wc for MBR toilet anyway since the HDB one not very strong in flushing. we go ahead & purchase both their in house brand ROZ wc and storage heater.

everything went well until after wc is installed.

20968592252_e8f2c512e3_h.jpg

plumber told me their lid size is wrong, cannot cover fully. so i called up hoe kee, they ask me to bring the cover down n they will try to match the best size n exchange, i agreed.

when i reach there, the customer service guy bring me to 1st floor warehouse & showed me another cover (same model), telling me its a few mm bigger which i can't tell by the way, from the look of my house wc cover, it needs to be at least 10mm bigger. so he go on explaining that this is ceramic so size varies, "are you telling me your product QC is not good?" "no no, i mean most ppl care abt flushing performance only, as long as its good" i was thinking to myself (so i just need to buy a bmw engine but with a broken car chassis is fine).

i didn accept the replacement, he shown me another cover for a different model of wc, clearly its big enough but its too big, the sides protrudes out, its ugly beyond words. he told me "this is the best we can give u"

i don agree and i ask for the show room piece, upon measurement its actually only slightly bigger than my cover, so i suspect it must be the wc water tank out of shape. so i ask "if you tell me all the cover the same, but mine cannot be covered, it must be ur wc problem, if you can't solve my prob, you should change a wc for me" he replied no problem as long as i get my contractor to remove it & they will replace for me but i will have to bear the cost of uninstalling n installing it again.

I'm getting inpatient with his excuses. i started to raise my voice, he bring me down to 1st floor again with the show room piece, i suggested if they can't satisfied a customer's simple request to replace a (right size) cover, they should replace the wc for me plus bearing the cost of installation,

he said"sir, we did let you choose a few piece of cover, if wrong size you can come back again""what? i have to waste my time to take another trip if its the wrong size again?!" "thats the best we can do"

i'm getting angry "why not you bring all the covers & come to my house, i chose the best one & you can take back the rest!" "sorry we can't do that" "how about i take all & test, you come pick up the rest?" i was doing measurement on the lid cover, he added "since u already measure, i can only let you take one" "WTF! you guys are supposed to be the professional, i measure for my own reference, if something wrong you have to settle for me because i purchase your product!"

"ok ok, you can take 2 cover and let us know which one you want" he started to scribble on my receipt, then i saw what he wrote - "take 2 pcs, no more claim" & he signed off.

"what do you mean by no more claim?" "oh, meaning after you take back these 2 piece if can't fit, we also cannot change already" "this is ridiculous! if your product has problem, 100times exchange you also must entertain!" i took his pen & strike out the (no more claim) words, left the shop angrily with 2 covers.

upon reaching home to try, the cover is slightly better but still not 100% covering the water tank, (my hdb covers 100%...)...then i realise its water tank is out of shape, with left side larger than the right side, so doesn't matter wat cover i change, it wldn cover. clearly its product defect.

NEVER EVER buy from HOE KEE again. screw up customer service & product QC. my frd said "y u get from hoe kee? heard their customer service suck"...yeah i knew it too late...

Hi Freb,

Your house looks cosy and nice. I like your kitchen gate which you self designed but where did you get it fabricated? So sorry to hear ur hoe kee experience, think we will avoid buying from them if possible.

Oh sorry to hear of your bad experience. Got my hood and hob from them but only good part will be its not their in house brands. Hope their blanco sinks won't be too bad as well since it's suppose to be from Germany as well.

Guess most companies when they become too big fall for such issues with customer service and product QC. Sighz.
