bessiebeardsley 1 Report post Posted September 25, 2020 I bought a really cool net and only the net is working really good. I put it all over my house and it is awesome really. The problem is that you cannot bring the net with you when you go somewhere and that is when you have to use something else. I did not want to use any mosquito repellent and I used the electric one because it at least has no chemicals that are bad for the skin. It emits ultrasonic sound waves that bugs hate and it works pretty well, but still some of them get through. There are even some repellents that can kill mosquito larvae and I found out about all of those on Bugs Zapper. There is a lot of cool info on how to get rid of them on their website. Other options: 1) Buy from Taobao - I got the magnetic screens and self-installed. Relatively easy and you can choose the types of mesh. I installed it on main door gate and all windows. I find the quality very good and the installer friendly, responsive and price is good. Besides keeping mosquitos/insects away, the insect screens are near invisible, removable and washable. Moreover, it Protects against UV light and keep the sun glare away. Check them out! The velcro ones are good if you never intend to wash them (coz once removed - they're very difficult to re-install and they dont look good). As for the magnetic ones - these work even over aluminium window/grill frames. How? there's one extra strip of magnet (one side is 3M tape - pasted on the aluminium frame to provide the magnet to stick with the actual insect screen). Hope this helps. Have a question for thise using it.How is the net in terms of alllowing wind and air flow into your house?The net holes look rather small & i am wondering if the house becomes stuffy after installation.Thanks in advance for your commentsAir flow isn't a problem. Everyone always comments how breezy our place is. But, the netting does get dusty ..... so you need to clean every 6 months or so,otherwise airflow could be blocked. We used a company called Magnetic Screen and it is great. We've had it in place for over 2 years now. It is easy to open and clean, and certainly keeps out all the insects and a lot of dust. dean 5 Report post Posted May 2, 2015 same! my friend also recommend me the magnetic ones..hers is velcro one, she told me 1 big roll only $5.. must ownself cut and paste on the window edge.. not sure how it actually works. haha.U can buy fibre mosquito net from homefix $17.50 and magnetic strip 3metre 10cm and brown tape from daiso.I only bought 1 set old version 1.5m x 1.5m $39.00 too short for bedroom windows so i used it in 2 toilet windows.From http://magneticinsectscreen.blogspot.sg/?m=1 Velcro strap not lasting.
