Thank you @Changbp

@OceanEleven Erm, I don't think you want to see that, you'll have nightmares for the rest of your life. But I am thinking of doing a short video "tour" of my place once the reno is completed. I'll see if I have the skill to pull that off.

3D drawings

As you can see from the 3D drawings, I am not doing everything in my apt. I am most focused on my living room, bedroom and bathroom. Living room coz I am quite a couch potato. I like to watch movies a lot and spend a lot of my non-work hours in front of the TV. My bedroom is my sanctuary and therefore, I want it done up very well, coz if I am not in my living room, then I am in my bedroom. And finally, my bathroom, that is the third place I spend time in. I want it to feel nice and comfortable. I don’t cook, so the kitchen is not a big priority. But I needed to do it up as the old kitchen was very dated and did not fit into what I want.

The wall will be much darker, almost black. And I will do away with the floor to ceiling cupbaords. Instead, I will do half height cupboards and create a storage platform in my living room.

Bro,

I like the design you have. Something which my wife n I is looking to do also. I like the colour but the wife just made me promise not to get these colours. I am a batman fan and if its up to me, would like to have dark cave like colours. Still negotiating for it to be in the MBR.

Anyway i saw you intend to do storage platform in the living room. Is your ID doing it for you or are you getting any other contractor/vendor to do? Possible to share with me the cost ? If the ID is good, let me know as well who he is please. We are not getting our BTO that soon(Q32016) but already started looking for IDs. Unfortunately I travel for my work so have limited time to meet up with many IDs. Will be following your progress. Hopefully all turns out fine for you.

Thanks for your kind words @huggermonster. Not sure how much the platform will cost me yet. My ID is re-costing the quotation as it was a add-on after he firts quoted me.

Maybe you can still nego with your wife to have only one wall in a very dark colour and the rest of the walls and ceiling white. That way, the whole house won't be too dark and you will have the best of both worlds,

I'll pm you my ID's contact (with the caveat that while he has not yet completed the reno for me, so far, he has met all my expectations.)

Sorry everyone. Have been quiet coz my flu really knocked me out. Anyway, on to the reno...

Not as much done over the past week. But I don't mind. I am not in a hurry and I would rather my ID does a good but slow job then a quick job which would have problems later on. Main thing done is to build up the enclosure for my wall hung WCs. So evrything except the flush buttons and my toilet bowl will be hidden.

I have also done most of my shopping for the house.

For the kitchen, as I have mentioned earlier, it is not my top priority. Nevertheless, I didn't want to just get any old thing as things like built in ovens, hobs and sinks, if they were to breakdown in the future, it would be a real hassle to change. But I don't really know much about these appliances, so I just listened to a friend of mine and went to Teka to get what I needed in the end.

This is my Teka steamer oven. I wanted to just get a basic oven, but my friends convinced me to get a steamer oven as they say it is healthier in the long run. Also, I wouldn't need to get a separate steamer.

Got the Teka hob. I was actually looking at a hob which coulod put four pots. But I decided that was overkill and got one which can put 3 pots instead. Why induction? Not due to design, but because I don't do any real cooking, maybe heat up water, soups, fry myself a steak , etc. Mainly western meals. Also I feel that it is safer. If I accidentally put my hand on the part where the pots should go, I will not get burnt.

Microwave also from Teka. Haha all my major kitchen appliances are from Teka lah.

I'm stuck at home as I'm not feeling well. So, in between naps, I can update my blog.

I have bought quite a few things already, all with the help of my ID. Actually, I only have my washing machine and TV left. Things like kitchen hob, fridge, shower stuff, all bought. I will update with the purchases soon.

But today, got a decision to make - the top for my dining table. I went to etch & bolts yesterday to look for my coffee table and my dining table. The below is the coffee table I chose. I initially felt that the colour of the legs was a little shiny. But my ID said that since my place is mainly matte and a bit dark, this would be fine. What do you all think?

Today my ID msged me as he wanted to know what table top I wanted for my dining room. This is the standard file photo for my dining table. But I can choose what type of wood I want.

So these are the two choice. The first is American walnut and the second is ebony. What do you guys think?

Just a quick update. Looks like my dining table is done. But, it looks really short. I figure it must be the angle of the shot as it is supposed to be a 180cm table.

Hi bro,

I'm looking to renovate my place really soon and your design sounds bold and great. I'm also looking at a cozy design and was quite impressed that your ID recommended something bold. At least it doesn't look run-of-the-mill. Do you mind sharing your I contact and how much he charges?

I also like this Teka steam oven and induction hob. Does it come as a set? Where did you get yours and how much does it costs?

TIA!
