For my master bedroom, though at first we kinda decided that we wanted pole system for our clothes storage but decided that maybe it can't even fit the hanger and we will have to brush trough many of our clothes when going in to the room. It's very upsetting because the depth of the recess area to the door is only 45 cm. we kind of rejected the idea of having a 35cm deep wardrobe that ikea has because of the thought that we can't really hang many clothes with such little spaces but I decided to go down and check out how many can it hold. these are my findings CAM01386 by asy_moshi_moshi, on Flickr this is the look of the 35 cm deep wardrobe and in 1 rail i managed to put 18 clothes with the bulkiest wooden ikea hanger CAM01385 by asy_moshi_moshi, on Flickr then i put all the 18 clothes to the normal clothes rail that the 60cm deep wardrobe usually can have and this is how much space it took (100cm length) CAM01387 by asy_moshi_moshi, on Flickr it takes maybe 2/5 of the whole wardrobe! and as for the 35 cm deep wardrobe (100cm) it has 2 rails which makes them not so mich different from the 60cm deep wardrobe with the same length. Therefore, we decided to get the 35 cm deep ikea wardrobe instead! yayyyy

Hi Minnie thanks a lot for ur compliments... We engaged Glen from Atelier Concept Pte Ltd n I have to give it to him for being so true to schedule n getting everything done to what we wanted... When rectifications had to be done he agreed to do it n perfected areas for me which really made a difference.. He also gave us many complimentary items n isn't the nitty gritty picky kind who charged on every little details.. Tried to accommodate our requirements n needs whenever possible.. Would like to take tis opportunity to thank him n convey our gratitude... Overall with extra add ons etc it all summed up to close to $30k on reno.. Excluding accessories n items...

If i am a bachelor now, my Reno theme will be the complete opposite. Imagine Steampunk meets Pop Art meet Industrial. As my wife cannot stand it, we decided Common Bathroom shall be under my charge while she gets to decorate the Master Bathroom.

All hacked walls plastered smooth. I was told by New the rounded corners for the Kitchen base is a norm for her as I was expecting a squarish finish.

Kitchen drawings. I must say the real Kitchen turns out almost like the drawings. Will show them later His and Hers wardrobe. I wanted a WIW with pole system and New included a surprise for me later. Hubby's wardrobe comes with a side cabinet for his collection of caps.

We had our wedding photos taken by Awesome Memories photography and was impressed with their house done by New. I think they have a blog here as well with a baroque theme. Will find it and share later on. We asked for New's contact and the next as they say, is history. We like New's candidness and honesty and decided her as the one. Somehow, we feel really at ease with her and we gave her full reign to design and all. The thing we like about her is she always reply us almost immediately and updated us often during the reno. These are the drawings that New did for us. We absolutely love them!

Hi hi! So you've stayed in one before. What made you decide on EM again? The bigger area? I like EM since young (childhood days) but never really thought of staying in one. The exterior of the EM Blk looks kinda old.

HDB implement numbers of law recently, best example is to have all Hacker to have licensed to hack! Please check with your hacker to ensure that they have the physical license before engaging them to avoid unnecessary fine from HDB There are ID & contractors out there who "borrow" HDB permit from licensed contractor time to time, this month onwards, all application has to be acknowledge by house owner so if you have signed up with "A" company and yet the permit stated "B" company, please report to HDB immediately for clarification or you will be getting yourself into trouble... ID/contractor may have tell you that its company has a few company name to avoid GST or so, it maybe true but DO NOT believe it, ask your dominated HDB officer who is taking care of your Block to ensure you are doing the right thing: Dear Registered Holder From 1 Apr 2014, flat owners will be required to complete the acknowledgement form as part of the requirement for renovation application. HDB Registered Renovation Contractors (RRCs) will be required to attach a copy of this duly signed acknowledgement form during the online submission of renovation application to HDB. We would like to remind all RRCs that they are fully responsible and accountable for the renovation carried out in the HDB flats. Under Clauses 14 and 16 of the Terms of Registration of the HDB Registered Renovation Contractors’ Scheme (RRCS), there shall be no lending/assignment of the HDB renovation registration. HDB RRCs are not allowed to submit renovation application on behalf of any person or company who are not registered under the HDB RRCS. HDB will not hesitate to take punitive action against the errant renovation contractor. RRCs are required to be mindful of the need to comply with all rules, regulations, instructions and requirements of Competent Authorities (eg MOM, BCA, URA, FSSD, NEA, PUB, EMA etc) in relation to renovation in HDB flats and to take measures to ensure the safety of workers when carrying out renovation in HDB flats. In addition, RRCs are advised to adopt crime prevention measures against housebreaking and theft and ensure proper disposal of renovation debris/waste when carrying out renovation in HDB flats. LOVE the curtains!! Super good job! Thank you for sharing. And your WIW?!?! To die for. Honestly! Super talented! I have been thinking of crown mouldings too, even though mine won't be a French-style home. I'm not really into the cove lightings stuff. So it's refreshing to see your home! I have never done this but - could you PM me your quote? Or maybe I could PM you if that's easier? I'm just starting my research, we're hoping to get our home less than a year from now! Oh yes and I have a question (for everyone who's ever gotten the keys to their house) -- approximately how long before collection were you notified of the house's completion date (not the probable one)? When you agar-agar see the painting start? Thank you, thank you! x

Updates... Got the keys to our house 2 weeks earlier than expected. Seller was supposed to rent the place two weeks from us as their new house is not ready, hence as a gesture of goodwill and kindness, we rented it out to them at the minimum rental cost. Less than 24hours before 2nd appointment, seller messaged me to inform us that they decided not to rent the place from us and we can collect the keys during 2nd appointment. Tsk tsk... can be more considerate a bit or not? So.....anyway, we went down to the house with ID, window/door vendor, aircon vendor and tile vendor for site recee...spent a total of 4 exhausting hours there with them. We got quotation on the spot from the window/door vendor as well as the aircon vendor, and spent time with them selecting material as well as discussing about trunking and how to hide them. Spent another 1.5hours discussing the powerpoint and lighting placement. Decided it was time to start shopping for electrical appliances, and decided on the below models, still sourcing around for best price... Samsung 60" TV (UA-60F6300) Chose this coz it is selling during clearance sale. Samsung fridge (RL4013UBASL) Chose this because of the stainless material and minimal look. Wanted a side-by-side fridge, but after going thru the pros and cons (i.e need to reduce storeroom space)..decided to go for a 2-door instead. Bosch Induction Cooker (PMI968MS) Chose this coz my place does not have any gas pipes. Wondering 2 "point" is enough? Have been living with 3 "points" all these while... Bosch Hood (DEE918PSG) Chose this because it comes in a bundle package with the above induction cooker. Karcher Steam Cleaner (SC3000) Heard good reviews from my gfs....they say MUST BUY...lol (to be continued)
