heh something like this... *source: unknown (will append it here if someone points it out to me* see how the strip runs? These use tiles though. YOu can use the mosaic instead... You can do that for the shower area... Something different ba. If there are budget constraints you can go for a thinner strip? If there's concerns about it being slippery then can have two thin strips and one regular tile inbetween to create more friction. My recess ah? Haven't start. SIGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Yup she's a lionhead lop which is why she's so fluffy in front... LIke a mane. So sorry to hear that yours is gone. I dread that feeling.. sigh. Tampines One? Is there a pet shop there? The one on the top level?

mm not upgraded before so it's at 8.5A... which is why we had such a hard time looking for the system 4. But we couldn't settle for anything less if we wanted to cool all the rooms (we had long discussions about this). So it was pretty easy settling for the air con since we had so few choices.. and not all brands carried the combination we want with the electrical limit. haha her eyes? The two black areas lor. She doesn't bite because she's not particularly afraid of anything. She wasn't even afraid of my bf's dogs. But she has a bad temper. If we irritate her or try to make fun of her she will step on our feet or purposely pee in front of us or stamp her feet very very loudly.

cannot use Jif cannot use Jif!! hahahahah this advice is from personal experience. I was writing on my bed and I accidentally made a red pen mark on the bedframe.. I went to get jif to clean off that part.. The stain came off but that little spot now is much rougher than the rest of the parts!!! hahahahaha spoilt! I daren't tell my parents. lol Luckily it's in a tiny corner of the frame and no one will ever notice.

Eh... I use the leather cleaner from Ikea. hahahahahah just clean for fun. I'm not sure it cleans all that well but so far we haven't had any stains on anything (no pets, no kids in the house) so we don't require the heavy duty stuff. Just that... my bedframe's white so I wipe it now and then to maintain the whiteness.

*SOB* I already told my dad to be home.. in front of the sales guy, Mr Low. My dad asked them a lot a lot a lot of questions.. and even took home some of the insulation thing he promised my dad that they would use. My dad took some home and told them he would be comparing. He grilled them so much on every model and system and type and energy usage.... I told them.. if they didn't send someone skilled and patient to do my place... the person probably need not go home already cos he will not pass my dad's inspection AND the sales guy's hp will probably ring off the hook on that day if any problems crop up. The guy agreed completely... .. harrassed by my father. mm I think all of us will be at home the day of installation so it should be ok. We haven't decided on who will get the casement at this moment. But I think it will likely be me. *sigh* but there are lots of logical reasons actually... Cos my bro's usage is much higher and the casement aircon is non-energy saving.. so I have to check if the wall mounted unit will use more or less energy compared to the casement. And also, my bro's more of a light sleeper and the casement will definitely be noisier... Since I rarely use the air con... I'll probably get the casement, unless there is some installation problem due to the layout of the rooms.

Yah. go earlier.. by 12pm there were people LEAVING with 2 or 3 of the $10 standing fans already....

Ahh then the console should suit you just fine. I'm quite happy with it really. I bought lots of stuff from Melvin too. Most are fine except for the ultra cheap bedroom set in my bro's room but Melvin did warn us about the quality for that one. But since my bro was going to be away for the next 2 years we just got him that set and told him to design his own room when he's back for good. hahahah I agree... I like the good pricing.. and how Melvin is willing to customise some things to suit our needs... heh I hope all goes well for you! *reminds me.. to clean my bedframe...*

ME ME ME... is it too late to vote on the mosaic wall??? I'd prefer... having a a whole strip about 60cm wide running from the top of one wall to the bottom, across the floor to the opposite wall and up the wall to the top. The rest of the walls white.

wah your house looks so cool!! I love the raw look with the lights and that retro divider!! way to go.

WAH red devil!! ... I just frantically went through your blog to look for your completed pictures. hehe clicked and clicked... Your white folding doors look fantastic!! And your wallpaper is giving me ideas man! Such a good way to save by getting your own wallpaper. hehe. Were the goodrich guys professional when they did up your wallpaper?

mm Got my aircon done at the Homeliving fair next to the sales one. Parents and I wanted to look at the appliances they had but we were sickened by the queue... apparently they had a common cashier queue.. so I saw people queuing up at the same place no matter who they bought from... so you can imagine the snaking queues all over.

hahah yes... such a long time... mm When they first sent the TV console one of the drawers had the mirror front shattered due to a small accident on the truck on the way to our house. The delivery guy showed it to us and told us he would bring a drawer back the next day. That night, my dad (the fussiest person I know) measured the TV console... mm He measured the distance of the base to the floor at 4 different areas of the console and realised that ..................... the centre was lower by 1.5mm. .... mm.. not cm. ANYWAY my mom and I were quite irritated as it was such a tiny difference.. but he insisted on making Melvin change the WHOLE console, saying that the centre was sinking. Sigh. So Melvin DID change. It was nice of him la. So far I'm quite happy with the console... but be careful not to put too many things in the drawers... I have too many DVDs in them and they look a little.. stressed. haha I LOVE MY BED TOO! My single white one right? hehehehe

mmm Just a mini update ... a bit sad though... For a while now I've been asking Uncle for his air con man contact... but he didn't pass along to me. So this week I sent out emails to many of the popular air con companies here... and visited a few places to learn about air con and stuff. In the end, we confirmed with Creation Air today. We liked the people we talked to and they seemed to know what they are talking about even after being grilled by my dad. We paid $3599 for LG system 4 non-inverter 3X9k + 1 X18k... and another $700 for a Sanyo casement aircon. So all the rooms in the house will be air conditioned. Silly me... came home and did a search on the company in Renotalk... and found ONE bad experience... and 3 OK ones. I'm keeping my fingers crossed so far then. They'll be coming in to install next Saturday.. so I can update more on the company then. *now time to go reno blog hopping*

These blinds are quite heavy. They have not made any noise so far. Jimmy Textiles

wow nice! Are you going to have a matching glass bathroom door?
-
It's a personal preference honestly. Some people like my family members can't stand having the whole bathroom wet whilst I'm neutral towards it. The bathroom which you frequently shower in should have a screen so that you needn't wash the entire bathroom so often, just the shower area. Saves you some time and water. My common bath is also quite cramped after we put in the screen but it was necessary since so many of us bathe there.
