Hi perfecthouse, Actually price between contractor and ID is definitely not the same! An ID can easily charge you 5 to 10k more as compared to what a contractor might charge you for your renovation...simply because an ID will help you plan your layout, help you design your house, give you advice on colour scheme, manage the arrival of the items you have ordered, come out with 3D drawings...so if you decide to hire a contractor, you have to do all the above on your own (and Ho Bee is a contractor..) Hehe, glad that everything went so smoothly My husband and I also experienced his "speed" when he was renovating our house...hacking also finished within 1 - 2 days...then tiling also done very fast haha...but the quality of workmanship remains high Do create a t-blog and showcase the process of your reno! I, for one, is very interested to see!

Hehe I would say...go with your gut feelings It is important to find a contractor whom you can relate well to...cos you will need to communicate with him quite often during the renovation. As for discount, it's quite hard to get one from him. But he has the habit of rounding up the money amount...like it is 2300 he will just charge you 2000. Then might be able to get some freebies here and there la...but won't be a lot Well, you pay what you get for...for us, we never regret spending that bit more cos no hidden cost and no headache at all during our reno.

Oh I think that's quite normal and to be expected cos he is a contractor, not an ID. For us, we decided to hire him because we were prepared to design all the layout of the house by ourselves. So we told him the design and he would add his ideas here and there, but like what you said, it won't be much. So do keep that in consideration while you are choosing your renovator. We were not considering ID because we want our house design to be purely ours (we also dislike smooth-talking IDs who will psycho you to do this and that and in the end increases the cost) and also because of the pricing.

Our reno with him was over 4 months ago actually haha... I would rate his service and attitude a high A...he is humble and pleasant to work with, even his sub contractors are all very nice people as well. After our reno is completed, we noticed some cracks on our wall and they came over to rectify it immediately. Then their plumber made a mistake that caused us to pay $80 (long story haha) but his wife refunded us the $80 after she got to know about it. And most importantly, their workmanship is superb and we didn't experience any delay...the house was completed on the day he said would be completed...he always gives me the impression that we can trust his words....so definitely thumbs up! I am very grateful to Ho Bee because my reno was completed without much hiccups

I used the 0.8mm one and so far no problem of unevenness. Mine is all white. Actually I think it depends on the skill of your carpenters. My carpenter told me some IDs or contractors will shun away from doing glossy white cabinets because they lack the skills to do so and will cause unevenness on the cabinet when it is done...

I just used them for my housewarming recently Service was good and price reasonable :-) The only complaint was the food turned bad really fast...one of the vegetable dishes turned bad in 4 hours time...and some of my guests were late so they ended up eating sourish veggies...which I didn't even realise until I tasted it myself!

Looks like he is quite fast and trustworthy...so just relax and enjoy seeing the transformation of your house!

Hehe...that glass of milk is for my hubby...he is in charge of packing the cookies...and while he is doing that the cookies kept 'disappearing' together with the milk...

I am considering getting an exercise machine to put in my hse...otherwise no motivation to lose weight... Worse is cos I haven't had my photoshoot + banquet yet...dun wan to look like a fat bride next year T_T
