  4. materials wastage is bound to occur in any construction works....the contractor can either built-in the cost of wastage into his base price or quote you on the net area/price and add in a reasonable wastage.....to me, what's most important is the total price you, as the purchaser, have to pay for the works.
  5. below payment schedule is what i have agreed with my contractor 1. 10% upon order confirmation 2. 20% upon commencement of work 3. 30% upon completion of all wet works 4. 20% upon completion of all carpentry works 5. 20% upon completion and satisfactory handover. hope it helps

  8. Hi, I'm thinking of using back my old National & KDK brand ceiling fans after my house reno. However, I think I will need to replace the fan speed regulator. Can anyone advise where I may get these regulators (and approx cost) and if I need to use the same brand as the fan or any fan regulator will do? Many thanks.
  9. yes it's available almost everywhere...however has anyone used the cheaper brand like "soundtech". it's seems value for your $ comparing against reown brand like freisland (not sure of spelling) which cost alot more. comments appreciated.
  10. i too have similar ant problems at home. need to alternate between different brands of ant poisons to get rid of them....its neverending & an ongoing battle......
  11. i think its gotta do with the flouride in our water.....my flask of 1day old plain boiled water tends to attract ants.
  12. it's reported that prices have come down but i still see launches selling at above $700psf for leasehold condos in outlying areas.......
  13. Must it be Hickson Decor? I saw in Ikea they have wood stains for outdoor timber...dunno what brand though...
  14. i believe it's water hammer....its got to do with air trapped within the pipes.....no easy to solve if it's caused by the way the pipings are routed. does it occur only when 1 particular tap is on? u may need to go thru the process of elimination to narrow down the problem area. good luck!
  15. are you using a hot/cold mixer tap on cold water only piping?
  16. if i may ask, why are you looking for a filter system for the whole house? .....esp in SG where our pipe water is touted to be of the highest standards....
  17. your SIL F&P fridge is quite old, maybe there's a leak on its insulation thereby resulting in its freezing up. my 14yo goldstar is also freezing up lately.....realised it's due to lack of ventilation at the backside...hence i pulled out the fridge alittle giving about 4" gap between it & the wall.....it's now working great!
  18. hi, i've also been to spacio to shop for my stuffs but in the end i only bought the black glass vanity top set from them. was tempted to buy the other stuffs there too but at the end found them cheaper elsewhere.... so what did u buy from them?
