  1. This may be a industry wide problem with the 3 core power cable used by electrician. So do double check. My air con was installed about 2 yrs ago. cable photo Recently I think I found out by chance the REAL reason for my Mitsubishi air con problem (inconsistance cooling issue after about 1 year) - the 3 core power cable for the air con (between the fan coil & the compressor) was heavily corroded / oxidation just after 2 years due to inferior quality cable used during installation ! The defect occur inside the cables NOT at the exposed end so its no way due to environmental. In fact the exposed end of the cable is OK. I not sure if such cable defect can be a safety hazard. When I feedbacked to my air con installer ( Imperial ) about this problem, They told me they only provide 1 year warranty for the cables and they quoted me $700+ for cable replacement for the 4 air con. The best part was they do not feel that they have done anything wrong. IMO they take end users like fools, no cables in the world is manufactured to last only 2 years unless its underrated or of poor quality. Either way its installer responsibility to ensure reasonable quality and act in good faith. Companies using inferior cables (from China) to reduce their cost, push their mistakes (cost of replacement) to end users AND they do not see any wrong with doing that .... When I checked with Mitsubishi Electric Singapore, they told me that since Imperial is not their authorised dealer, they do not have any control over them. But they mentioned that the replacement charges by Imperial as “exorbitant” imagine this is type of treatment for using them for installation and maintenance for the last 2 years. I was told that such poor quality cables were commonly used in the market 2 years ago until the problem occured later like mine. Even until now, you can get such cables. So this may be a industry wide problem, but the way this company handles the customer when there is a problem is unbelievable. So lesson learnt : 1. Ensure that cable is not made in China and from reliable brand. Do not take your installer word for it. I was told Key Stone (Made in Singapore) was good. 2. Get your air con from authorised distributor or dealer. At least the factory can do something (but not everything) for you in event like this. 3. Go for extended warranty on parts and labour if possible even if its a good brand. My 2 air con have to replace thermistor just after 1 year. Considering I only on my air con at night with regular filter cleaning every month – I do not consider this as good quality. Thnaks for reading

  3. Beware of the cable quality used during Air Con installation ! I have decided to post in forum this to warn everyone since I got my air con contact from this forum and as this could happen you. This may be a industry wide problem which I think is not limited to the company that I mentioned below. Recently I think I found out by chance the REAL reason for my Mitsubishi air con problem (inconsistance cooling after about 1 year) - the 3 core power cable for the air con (between the fan coil & the compressor) was heavily corroded / oxidation just after 2 years due to inferior quality cable used during installation. Parts of the wire became powdery. The defect occur inside the cables NOT at the exposed end so its no way due to environmental. In fact the exposed end of the cable is OK. I am not sure if such cable defect can be a safety hazard. When I feedbacked to my air con installer ( Imperial ) about this problem, They told me they only provide 1 year warranty for the cables and they quoted me $700+ for cable replacement on the 4 air con. IMO they take end users like fools, no cables in the world is manufactured to last only 2 years unless its underrated or of poor quality. Either way its installer responsibility to ensure reasonable quality and act in good faith, if they fail in this aspect at least rectify the problem FOC. Get your air con from authorised distributor or dealer. Its listed on the brand site. At least the factory can do something (but not everything) for you in event like this. 3. 4. Dear All, I am sorry to have written this, but I do feel a need to bring this up to rest of the people in this forum for everyone when they are making their choices in considering this product. Beware ! I have installed a top range of QS for my new house. Comparing psf$ pricing on the laminated flooring around this is considered top grade, Yes installation workmanship was good and product lives up to the expectation of a top grade product. The only comment on the installation is that they did not put on the protection cover and did not do so even after my several sms reminder. But to me small issue as long as flooring not damaged by other contractors. However the after sales service is third class - seem like a company run by one man show with overloaded schedule. I have tried to make appointment since late Nov 2010 with them to come down to rectify some flooring/skirting issues. Did not turn up for a few appointments made well in advance and do not bother to keep you updated even if they are not coming. Due to repeated delay on their side, the damaged on the flooring has spread to a even larger area (by recent heavy downpour), initially was only a small area affect. This product came with 25yrs warranty, do you expect them to be around to solve your problem when something happens ? Not for me, after only 3 months ... For those who thinks that I am QS competitor trying to be funny, do a quick search on my other threads and you will know I have been quite active in renotalk previously. Gong Xi Fa Cai !.

  6. From what I know, if all things being the same a round marble table will be more exp than a rectangle table reason being more wastage and skill to cut round marble .... from what the sales told me. However, there is many different grade of marble material for table in the market, the cheaper one are normally not natural marble... even withnin natural marble there is different grade. And if you are getting natural marble beware that what you see in the show room may not be what you get later on cos marble being natural stone has different pattern. At the end of the day, be regardless of the price, know what you are paying for will be helpful to prevent disappointment later on.
  7. It will be good if let us know what are the additional T&C should be written ... TIA
  8. Why dun you file an official complaint to HN (management), brandt singapore, brandt HQ (France I think) ? Maybe you can ask HN to do a exchange to Bosch FOC ? You need to get hold of the HN sale that served you and reconfirmed his "wrong" reply again. Best you can get it recorded. Tell them that the noise is not acceptable ... But you can do it fast, the longer u used the less reason for them to do any thing for you. Hope above helps...

  11. At first I wanted to used granite for my kitchen counter top and bath room, recently I came across some article on Granite and Radon Radiation in the internet - dun know how true. But I got worry as I have baby at home and thinking of using quatz or silestone. But cost is $200 to $250 per foot run for pure white, too ex. No choice, going back to soild surface. Since solid surface is less stain resistance but cheaper, I told me ID to design in such a way that I can change my new solid surface table top every five yrs - worst case....

  13. Wow ! Thank for this info. I am getting Mit Starmex based on the 4 ticks and quiet operation. Now I need to re-consider again THANKS to misleading standard from NEA ! Power consumption during standby mode is not something new ... I only switch on on my air con at night and for the whole of day time 10am - 9pm - the air con is wasting energy and $. I checked with my air con supplier whom said that by switching off the aircon breaker when not used will solve this problem (without damaging the air system). Is it true ? If yes why did Mitsubish retracted this suggestion ? Can Anyone suggest an alternative air con system with 4 ticks , quiet operation AND low energy consumption during standby ? I need to re- consider my options. Thanks in advance !

  21. Yes I agreed, if already invested 1.5K on the servo system, better get a pro to do it if not if have problem later, you are not enjoying on the 1.5k that you have invested. Also, as Servo system is not common, I think better to get a certified AND experienced person (i.e. have actually install such system before) to do it proper to avoid any learning curve at your expenses. You have to insist nicely, do not trust the your ID too much .... at the end it is you who will be living in NOT your ID.
