  1. For cooker hob and hood, i bought from Jerome aka Zero from RenoTalk. For kitchen sink + tap, basin + tap, water closet, rain shower, shower mixer and all bathroom accessories, i got them from Heritage, Bacera and City Gas Gallery.
  2. My budget less than yours, yet the only thing that remain in the bangala dom from original are the walls, the rest all new stuffs.
  3. Yes, there are. My guess your plumber use brass joint, normally use with copper piping on your stainless steel pipe.
  4. Actually i rather like the gas meter inside the house... can you imagine they run 2 copper gas pipes (1 in and 1 out) all the way from your kitchen through your living room and you cannot conceal it using false ceiling or L box?
  5. The plumber should have use joint instead of bending the steel pipe... maybe can ask him to redo? If i'm you, i will put my sink above the drainage pipe and water supply as the counter space (about 1000mm) to the left can be of better use, 1000mm counter space is big enough for a table top dish drainer or use it as a preparation table for raw ingredients, can also use it as a serving table before carry it out to the dining table. You make the wall behind the sink short for exposing your sink (if it is full of dirty dishes and plates) to your guest?
  6. If you intend to use the mid section as shower area, you can extend 600mm into your bedroom as vanity dry area. I would suggest you dont hack away the wall between WC and Bathroom... 1 person can shower while 2nd person can do business, and the smell will not spread into the bathroom.
  7. Can i know your purpose of hacking the wall between bathroom and bedroom? If you wish to open a doorway, is only 900mm; if want to extend your vanity area, hdb only allow additional 600mm and must be dry area.
  8. We are also using Hettich Quadro V6 drawer runners and Hettich Sensys hinges for our kitchen cabinet (10 drawers; 6 big 4 small) and walk-in wardrobe (with 4 big drawers). There are 2 big 2 small inner drawers for the kitchen cabinet we are using Blum inner drawers with Blum cutlery tray and utensil dividers as the Hettich one is not nice. For top cabinet we will be using Blum lift-up system. In fact we planned to use Hettich Sensys hinges in all our custom-made furniture. Btw, can i know where you bought the Simple Human grocery bag can with bag holder?
  9. Cat5e already can support gigabit speed; why you need to spent on Cat6?
  10. Can you ask your ID why never give you soft closing hinges and drawers for all your cabinets? Ask them why they give you white PVC instead of polyester laminate for the cabinet internal? On 2nd thought, no need to ask your ID if you are happy with the price you paid and the material and workmanship they provided.
  11. For horror stories at the Expo, please refer to this LINK.
  12. I like what you done to your place... frankly speaking i love the wood feel but somehow i felt you went a tad bit too far. Scandinavia is modern contemporary yet with a touch of minimalist, less is more but more is messy. They are people that appreciate natural. The changing LED cove lighting is interesting but i dont think you can find them in Scandinavian homes.
  13. Contractor from City Gas coming to my place tomorrow to run gas pipe for gas meter, cooker hob and gas water heater. My main con will be there to make sure they follow my project manager's instruction.
  14. Ikea kitchen cabinet is not bad if you know how to properly use it. It comes with legs as the cabinets are make using compressed wood chip that will expand and rot away if soak in water. Even those high class expensive imported kitchen cabinet also almost same quality as Ikea, the only differences are the counter top material and hinges/drawer/pull-out/lift-up system. However Ikea has catch up too using soft closing hinges and drawer made by blum. In the past, the really cheap kitchen cabinet from Ikea are usually fixed with postform counter top (made using compressed wood chip, will expand & rot if soak in water or constantly expose to moist), the better ones use solid wood (easily stained, scratches from knife and utensils, burn by pot just remove from stove); only recent years they start to use Himac LG 100% acrylic counter top. If compare to the higher end imported European kitchen cabinet which uses the non-pores quartz, water & oil proof marble or granite and soft closing with complete servo-drive with full auto close feature for drawers and top cabinets, which may cost $20,000 for 10 ft; Ikea is just $5,000 for 10 ft.
  15. If they tell you they have no money for the repair, will you pay for them? You must consider if no repair the human waste pipe will burst sooner or later and you will suffer the most.
  16. beat better than getting human waste water raining down in your toilet when the damage pipe burst. the money is really well spend.
  17. CASE is a toothless tiger; don't waste your time with them. Just file with Small Claims Tribunal (SCT), chances are they have no choice but to refund you every single cents including any additional cost, if they dont pay, you can apply for Writ of Seizure and Sale, go down to their expo showroom to seize all their showroom piece.
  18. no need to drool lah, really is to each his own. i like to spend on furnishing and usually got them at cheap price, just like my renovation. maybe next year i lend you my trade passes for the IFFS/AFS, Deco Asia and The Hospitality Show.
  19. Hensley no more carrying this brand... if the new owner want to keep my old Suter, then i'll bring my aunt to Teka to select her sink when she wish to overhaul her kitchen.
