This thread is getting more and more interesting... Especially the Kitchen part! Am personally looking for ideas on kitchen too, looking at De Dietrich and Miele range. At first was looking at Bosch too, but heard one of the sales man at Harvey Normans telling me,"Most advertisment you see on the street on Bosch is hand drills and industry tools..." Quite true, so their forte isn't really on kitchen appliances or washing equipment for that matter.

I'm actually very interested in this Blum system. Could anyone here with the system installed share the joy and woes of the system? BTW, will the door leave with a gap after many times of opening and closing?

I'm curious, during this renovation period, will your electricity bills and water bills be tagged into the price that you pay the contractor/ID or do you pay it separately?

Just curious, what brand did you get for the washing machine?

I heard my colleague installed Blum onto his cupboards at home and cost him around $2000+. I also emailed them and they recommend that we go to their autherised carpenters to do the installation.

Your house is looking good! One question, does your MBR toilet have a glass door or is it just open concept showering?

haha, that why I seriously hope they will compensate more to us. From what I have heard from the HDB officer, they say those who are current owners of the HDB at Rochor, regardless of how many times they had bought their flats, will get priority in the new Kallang flats.

You must be a Samsung fan! Most of your appliances are from them! Anyway, would like to ask about your exhaust fan from KDK in your toilet, are they custom built in or comes with the window? Looks like a perfect way to keep the humidity level in the toilet low!

So you mean that if we renovate our new house, we cannot do conceal piping?

Not to say alot, but the Gov did say they will compensate at market rate which will include the COV value. Most unfortunately, it does not seem that way. there's a group of residents that are petitioning for higher payout, not sure how it would turn out.

Point noted. This can be seen from the price which they have given us of between $415K - $475K for a 3 room. I also heard that the en block in East coast didn't turn out quite well and the residents there were complaining, any one with the info care to share?

That one is not quite accurate unfortunately... HDB is using the same trick to deceive us of our compensation.

So the cooker hood is really not very useful? I was also cotemplating if I should install one. I guess the only purpose is asthetic view as the pratical part is not really useful to absorb the oil and stuff as seen from most of my other relatives and friend's house. Opinions anyone?

Just curious, I see that all your water pipes are enclosed in the walls? Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't HDB only allow for external water pipes and not those that are hidden? And also, did you ask the contractor to use putty to cover up and smoothen all the gaps and holes of the electrical trunking? It can prevent insects from craling in and also look very nice!

Looks like majority of the PD door problems comes from East21 from Balestier. Any experience from Eunos branch? Bad or good?

another question, your MBR toilet has a glass door partition to prevent water splashing out when showering? Did you install a false ceiling in the toilet?

About your water heater, mind sharing what brand did you use? And what type of heating system is it? If it's not too much, could you briefly describe how the pipes are run? Water pressure?
