    Bo N Go

Hey nunu, take your time to look for the ID of your choice. Then I tell you a secret...pls don't tell your prospective IDs that your budget is $30k. Give them a figure like $20k...cos when u get ur quote eventually, it'll hit 30k. But if you say ur budget is $30k, then you knw lah..
  2. Hey bubblepearl, I really wanted a divider too but in the end Mudster (FH) and I decided against it cos of the cost factor as well. Save where you can, and maybe use the money somewhere else to get something better or useful?
  3. Hi Applefreak, how good was the light sale huh? Hi Hobbes,Is this cement screeding for the purpose of preparing the area for laminate?Ok, both HDB and contractor can do the screeding. Difference is, if you apply for HDB to do it, it'll be done FOC but if contractor were to do it, it'll come with a cost. For my place, my ID prefers that HDB do it, so as to help cut cost. He applied to HDB on our behalf and will be doing the necessary liasing with HDB for the screeding.
  4. Passing by... How are things coming along Ah Kiat? So excited to see your castle! When is work scheduled to be completed? I can't wait for mine to start!
  5. Hi hi the 20% discount is on again! 16-18 March (Sunday) Got my Teka hood, hob, sink and tap for $1080 !!
  6. Hey Applefreak...passing by Okie let me start my vote for the kitchen layout. I wld prefer layout 2 and 3. But.... Layout 2: Like the L-shape of stove but the dryer next to the stove does seem a little odd Layout 3: This is nice. This is the island something kinda concept right? Only consideration wld be the 60cm distance. So seems like I'm just as undecided! !!
  7. An incredible 1st year I'm sure! Cheers!
  8. What a dilemma! Maybe it's best to follow the FSM. I am not a follower but I can imagine the pyschological effect it will have on you in future. For the sake of a peace of mind, maybe you want to see if you can find a balance between aesthetics and Fengshui. All the best!
  9. Thank you for all the good wishes! Seems like it's going to be one roller coaster ride balancing work, reno and wedding prep! I'll persevere!
  10. Good morning everybody Mudster and I went down to our place yesterday cos HDB officer claimed that all rectifications were done. He is not wrong, all rectifications are done but as always the quality of workmanship is questionable. E.g. two of the oxidised taps replaced are leaking, oxidised window handles have been repainted but painting is not very smooth, etc, etc ---- ask Mudster and he will give you a longer list As Mudster and I surveyed the rectifications, not surprisingly we had the same thought up in our heads --- Give H*B another task and it'll be a shoddy job anyway. So we have decided that we will not press the lousy contractors that H*B has hired to damage our home further My ID offered to do any rectification work if things didnt go our way and I am expecting that there would be no extra cost! So on a brighter note, we'll be starting reno work soon! Mudster darling congratulations! Oh wow, just noticed the count down calendar to wedding! Feeling the jitters, already!
  11. Aiyo scary man. They are taking the short cut to rectify the problem lah. What's their problem? First they make the mistake then resort to cheap and unprofessional ways to make it LOOK alright. Ans, when will we ever start our reno? I'm so mad with H*B
  12. Hey Ans, I hope the work on the tiles went fine. Keeping my fingers crossed for you
  13. Maybe Mudster darling, we ought to pay our first visit to the MP. And write a letter of complain to HDB. Yes we should visit the MP. This shouldnt be the way a professional government body shld be working!!! I don't care, I'm going to see the MP! H*B watch out!!!!
  14. Hi Hi, I'll be starting some time in March too! All the best! Cheers to a successful reno!
