Basic will be doing things like laying floor tiles, doing some kitchen cabinets, light box (just the minimium to put things) etc.. Not basic would be extra things like toilet vanity, feature walls, extra wardrobes (on top of put things, make the place look even nicer) etc.. The more carpentry the higher the cost!!

1 week definitely CAN EXTEND!! U call and ask, if cannot, kick up a fuss.. Really, no use being nice.. Nice customers always kena 'makan' by the bank one.. Its those mean and evil ones that get their way.. That's why I tell my hubby 'hao ren mei hao bao one in bank'.. Haha~ I wanted to take leave but Vincent says his workers will be doing main bulk of the cleaning.. Then I ask 'even drawers'?? He says yes, don't know real anot.. But me and hubby and friends prepared liao.. Really chop some of my friends to help out.. Keke.. Time flies, its finally Vesak day now!!

I see I see!! Good le, can save some money.. Flooring is one of the main contributors to reno cost.. I find carpentry stage very slow moving lei.. Take pics when u r there har!! Hehe~

hahaha.. like can't wait right.. same feeling.. my hubby will tell me in the afternoon when i'm in office if there's anything being done so that i don't have high hopes in the evening when we are popping by the new place..

do u intend to hack any walls? coz i find yr mbr like a bit small, maybe can consider hacking away the wall for the study room and moving the door frame to the front so you have a bigger mbr!! can do a wiw, mini living and study in the original mbr and your bedroom in the study room after hacking the walls.. just a suggestion!

haha, i'm a very paranoid person so at first i also worry like siao, scare my id disappear la, scare my id any charge my variation order la, scare my id very bad attitude la etc etc.. haha.. i think frontier so far overall designers are quite good (like my id vincent and ronnie, but i think sebastian and marlin is fairly new so abit less 'zai').. but i know their boss is a responsible chap so this kind of things do rub-off on their staff.. yup, vincent is really good at hand drawn perspectives!! sad to say their computer perspectives are pretty lousy.. haha.. so i ask him to hand draw all my perspectives instead.. bad experience don't have la, just that, ids are still ids, earning a living so they do quite a no of units.. but to us, its only ONE AND ONLY UNIT so though we find it important, they tend to be a bit forgetful, careless now and then.. keep a close eye on things to ensure what you want is executed and for some reason missed out, at least you spot it and can rectify it immediately then wait till handover then do rectifications work.. Saw Kelvin going to collect his car one of the days I was at IMM (Vincent pointed him out to us as I told him Kelvin very popular in forum one) and he is quite uncle lor.. Expected someone more dynamic since he do so many units!! Haha~

very sticky situation coz, we went to liang court showroom to see the models but my id went to buy it from a higher-rank manager at the joo seng showroom coz this higher-rank manager can give more discount (20%). hence, we cannot blame the first salesgirl though she know we want to separate but did not tell us we cannot coz we did not buy from her. whereas the joo seng manager did not know that we want to separate it coz the vincent never tell her since the first salesgirl did not say cannot. complicated hor. vincent tells us not to worry coz he will buy it over if really cannot but i oso don't want him to get stuck with something he don't need. tried couple of alternative ways like persuading them to buy back at a discount which om rejected. now waiting for the place to be ready first then open up the box and see how does this sofa backrest sliding mechnism works. ya, don't worry about the skirting, sure look ok one. my one oso at first i find it horrible coz of the black cement. but after painting, looks great!

Hi! I got this Rinnai oven for $690, they having a promotion for this model at the moment I think. Erm, in case you are enquiring coz you are thinking of buying mine, I'm sorry coz I managed to talk to Lookz again (bought thru them) and Catherine (the girl whom attended to me) finally finally finally managed to convince the Rinnai agent to take back the oven. Topped up another $390 ($1350 less 20% = $1080) to buy the Teka one. Finally solve this problem. *phew* Lush is located at Centro Bianco building located along 73 Upper Paya Lebar Road #02-01 (Tel: 6858 5882). But you can never find this building along the road coz it never say on the building itself lor! Haha.. You try looking out for U-Home signboard as they are occupying the first floor and has prominent signages. Its really cheap! I find its the best buy! The light comes in 3 sizes - very big (forget what dimension), my size which is medium (60cm) and small (40cm). For the respective sizes, its about $800+, $300+ and did not ask for the smallest size coz I was looking for medium size one. I can't recall the exact amount but its around there. Lightcraft shop front displays the biggest one that's why we asked how much is it. Worried too expensive mah then no point asking if it comes in other sizes. When they say the biggest one is only $800+ then we enquired further and heng they have the size we want. Close up of the light flowery pattern (sorry ya, still in wrapper). Can go Lightcraft look see as I find they have a lot of choices compares to all those I went to see at Balestier and at really good prices. My bedside table hanging lights just delivered, not installed yet, also very cheap and I think quite nice. Show you the pic after its up on Friday! A lot of activities going on for the place this week. Today the carpet is up and some of the wallpapers done. Carpet looks good but some boo-boos on wallpaper, very tired, sighs. Will try to post more pics! Work was crazy today being eve of public holiday, if only don't need to work but I need to service my renovation loan.

hey girl, om is having gss sale. my colleague got the same coffee table at $600 (less 15% off $650 + $50 delivery then round down) so sad lor, i only got it like couple of days earlier, super lugi.. $50 can buy me a set of bowls and plates i'm eyeing at ikea lor.. thank you thank you.. but its all really vincent's design and ideas.. met him just now at my new place, think he's super stressed out with my place.. a lot of last minute stuffs that went kinda hay wire.. like the sanitary people burst a water pipe.. that is like the second time, coz the air con people oso burst one couple of weeks back.. haha.. can consider the idea for your future more extensive renovations!! our living actually i find a bit hard to place sofa correctly lor.. initially, i was having a hard time deciding on my sofa position on my own oso.. like neither here nor there lor.. there was so many drawings i drew to see which is the best positon lor.. keke.. for me is, if i sleep air con, i will get sore throat next day.. problematic.. but i'm those type on fan or air con also cover my blanket until nexk one lar.. haha..

On a more positive note, things are moving along. Vincent had rejected the black glass for my cabinet doors, wardrobe doors and tv console frames last week and I hope the next batch they are sending this Friday is good to go. Hate delays. But of course, choosing between delays and worksmanship, I rather the latter la. The wood coloured laminates delivered were ok so the drawers and cabinet doors are fitted already for the kitchen. As usual, was paraoid again after deciding on the laminate colours that time but guess Vincent is pretty good at colours coordination so his recommendations did not go wrong. Bedroom wardrobe doors were fitted last Friday and the centre portion which uses colourful streaks looks nice against the green walls. *phew* Cushion headboard still not up but the bedframe and side tables were delivered. Wanted to do suspended side tables but Vincent saw some nice designs in a magazine and did those. I like that the side tables are customised but not suspended lor. At least I can carry them and re-use if I ever decide to move. Schedule for this week is packed: - Monday ~ Sanitary - Tuesday ~ Air con - Wednesday ~ Carpeting and wallpaper - Thursday ~ Cleaning - Friday ~ Carpentry for black glass, delivery of mattresses and various appliances - Saturday ~ Delivery of more appliances Keeping my fingers very crossed. Must find time go pai-pai at Bugis for things to go smoothly...

haha.. i know la.. $500 maybe can buy one small wallet.. those long wallets cost at least $600++ lor.. bags mostly above $1000.. my $500 was just for illustration purposes.. keke..

did the points expired for very long?? can try calling and asking them to extend one.. if its like within a month or two.. i like white plates too.. most probably getting mine from ikea, saw them selling in a set for $49.. planning to use my taka vouchers (from the samsung lcd tv) to buy their bedsheets etc instead.. wanted to do it today but also too tired to go down taka so maybe find time during office hours lor.. coz this weekend taka having big sale so card holders got extra discounts.. still sad abt the sofa so not much mood to buy/look/find other things for the house lor.. monday blues once again!! heng got vesak day.. thinking if i should take leave on friday to clean the new house some before they deliver all those appliances..

i find that signing on the dotted line with the ID is like finding yr life partner lei.. really fate lor.. i started sourcing for ID since nov 2006 and only signed in mar 2007.. my id vincent is the second one whom drew perspectives for me even before i sign.. the first ID was from haier living but doing free lance work outside and really so busy so i dropped her.. but i did not like vincent at first sight and was very critical against him and his designs.. it was only like after 3 appointments, he was very patient with us, keep changing his drawings that i find he is really sincere lor.. keep the pictures coming in so that we know yr progress ya!! and good luck!!

haha.. ya lor, will crush u lei.. or can do from outside?? like use something to carry those books down from the window or something?? or throw down from window then use bedsheet downstairs to catch?? faster mah.. my sofa is from om.. its partly my ID/ours/sales girl fault lor.. happily decide without thinking of the details.. very frustrated with myself.. i need to move out of my parent's place by mid-jun so hoping to get everything done.. sighs sighs sighs..

keke.. black ceiling cannot install ceiling fan meh?? i like ceiling fans but hubby don't like.. coz its more space saving than standing fan.. and i'm more of a fan person than air con person, find that the air is more fresh lor.. but hubby is the opposite of me..

he did offered to buy over.. but i think that would be the worst case scenario solution.. i told him to focus on getting my flat completed by this week first.. then after that we open up the sofa (coz its still in the box).. and we see how we can rectify it.. if cannot then we see how lor.. i feel bad if he has to buy over from us.. worry what if he can't sell it he gets stuck with it.. then that day the sales girl know we going to use it separately, she also never say anything.. somemore me and dar also never thot about it coz my parent's place L-shap sofa can be separated lor.. so we really never think of that.. very sad.. moody over it.. coz i feel sofa is one of the most impt piece of furniture in the house lor.. sighs, then the oven he should also buy over lor!! haha.. coz the oven he went with us to order too and he says its stainless steel border.. but i did not want to bring it up yesterday coz the biggest headache was the sofa.. at least the oven still can use and ok-nice.. just not not very-nice only..

singaporeans very rich one lor.. thats why buy LV must Q up.. haha.. i buy at least 2 bottoms, 3 pairs of shoes, 4 dresses and 5 tops a month.. despite that, my hubby says i still always complain no clothes to wear.. haha.. but its good to invest in quality bags la.. just that i find i don't mind spending $50 for one item.. $500 i must think for a long long long time..

I guess its somewhat true that I'm not confident with myself inside though I seems confident on the outside..

My renovations is having a BAD WORSE NIGHTMARE DAY today. Problem 1 Oven not what I expected. I thot it would be stainless steel for the borders when I saw it on the picture (did not see actual thing) that's why I bought it as it would match my fridge. But its actually like frosted glass material. Sighs, I'm so disappointed. Should have gone for the Teka one which I saw, touch, feel. Anyone willing to buy it at a discount? Problem 2 Sanitary was delivered weeks ago but just realised the following: - Wrong basin mixer, should be shower mixer delivered Specially drove down to do an exchange just now - Missing 2 paper holders Problem 3 Sofa went wrong! This is my most problematic issue on hand. We bought a L-shape sofa wanting to spilt both up - 3 seater in living and lounge seater in MBR. But due to some sliding mechanism the sofa has, if its separated, it won't work. Plus the sides of the sofa which is joint has some hooks or what. Its still in the box and we have yet to open it up but the delivery uncle told us that. Called Vincent immediately and he was also very worried but he told us if it cannot be separated then he will buy from us coz he made the decision with us to get this sofa. That is not what I want. Told him we finish up all the works first then we can open up the sofa to see how it's like. Sighs, very stress. Anyone willing to buy it at a discount? Problem 4 Rug wrong colour. Specially drove down to do an exchange just now Hubby and Vincent decided on the curtain colours last Friday and I saw the sample at night. Realised that it does not match the rug I got from Lush. Though solved it, I hope its matches with the rest of my stuff.

We used to joke in office that we put in so much hours (staying till 2 or 3am on some days), will we go home one day and our kids call us 'AUNTIE' instead..

Haha.. First para is when we were living on our own from jan 2001 to feb 2007.. Second is when I move back pending my new place's renovations from feb 2007 to current.. got timeline easier to understand la.. My parents are traditionalists so do not like to communicate.. They do not understand couple time.. They refuse to look after my son for me last time if me and my hubby wants to go out occasionally coz my dad is a very traditional old man whom nearly suffered a heart attack knowing his first born wants to get married at 20 yrs old as she is having a baby in 7 months time.. So he feels that since I was so stubborn to want to get married despite his violent objections, I should bear full responsibility for my actions so no help should be given by him.. And my mom listens to him.. My siblings always not in so not able to help either.. But lately coz I'm so old already and son so old already plus my siblings none of them are married yet and he is hoping for another grandchild, suddenly don't mind looking after my son so that we can go out. Further, I'm staying here now, its easier for them to take care in the sense that, I can put my son to sleep first before catching a midnight with hubby etc.. Unlike when we do not stay here, I still got to bring my son and his stuffs over which was more troublesome lor..

Ok, I think that makes us 3.. I support the 80-20 rule also.. I mean I love my hubby tons and loads and millions.. I'm ga-ga over him.. BUT I'm not trusting him 100%.. Not coz of his character but I find its the women outside whom are scary.. And I feel most men (maybe except yours) can't handle temptations.. So we still got to keep a look out now and then.. Its not like we are obessively possessive or restrictive or questioning lor.. I tell my hubbby 'YOU CAN DO ANYTHING YOU WANT, DON'T GET CAUGHT BY ME, IF NOT, ITS O-V-E-R!' That said easier than done.. I've been through some rough patches ourselves and more loving now than ever.. I just hope it will stay this way or be more.. Yr hubby is ang mo?? I guess most (not all la, I'm sure there are lousy ones) ang mos tend to be more sensitive to women needs and feelings.. Most (not all la, I'm sure there are good ones) sg men are more MCP and insensitive lor, not that they are nasty la, just not romantic enough or can't detect our moods and do the right thing..

For me, hard to have couple dates with ourselves or with friends coz noone wants to help me look after my boy.. So its always three of us going out or at home for the last 6 yrs.. Only couple time is only when son is asleep lor.. Guess being that way made us drifted somehow.. But I strongly believe that couple time is important and can strengthen the relationship.. Coz we've been staying at my parent's place for the last two months (sold old place, new place not ready) so there's always people at home.. And my parents weird la.. Last time I request them to look after my boy for couple of hours, refuse to but now that I'm staying here, sometimes me and hubby need to go out to look at some furniture, they dont mind minding my boy at home in this instance.. Could be due to if I bring my boy over, got to carry many barangs to keep him entertained so they find troublesome but now everything is here.. Anyways, the point is that me and hubby do go out now and then on our own and I find we seem to relive our pak-tor days and it made us more loving.. Him humouring me makes me tick and me ignoring him makes him tick..
