  1. Oh goody! Will go check out An Huat and if time permits, Unlimited also. Was also looking at TB to see if there are cheaper options but I can't seem to find any similar design. Tried 花纹地砖,复古地砖,欧式地砖 etc but nothing comes close. Looking forward to this Saturday recee!
  2. I like your kitchen wall tiles! A pity about the frosted tempered glass doors - can share how much is one?
  3. Thanks. I can't recall which Tblog but I read that it costs $3.50 per piece but maybe without the sealant? Or perhaps depend on the design and size?
  4. We are heading to An Huat this Sat to take a look at their tiles. Read from one of the tblogs that they supply such floral tiles to the other shops. This is our first tile visit so what should we expect and what should we ask?
  5. Oh dear my HTB also suggested this the other day and my eyes almost popped! Totally agree with you - a fireplace in Singapore is just so ... Lol
  6. For nostalgia reasons, may I suggest printing out this rare old pix of your block and put it up together with a current pix? Then you can show to your guests the 'old/new' looks and it will be a talking point!
  7. Oh my Mr E said these are not exactly Peranankan-style...but still, they are gorgeous and can 'hide' stray hair and fur well LOL!
  8. Silly me, kept looking at all over the web and T-blogs and now I fell in love with this: Peranakan Tiles by Makanology, on Flickr I got a quote for a similar looking floor tile at $5.20 per piece (200x200). Is this the market rate?
  9. Wow all these walls painted by yourselves? Well done!
  10. Ya we heard about it. But we will give him chance, hope the quote comes in at the start of next week...
  11. Wow your house is going to be ready very soon! Counting down?
  12. Hi we are looking at this too and shortlisted it. What color are you getting?
  13. The 1st and only contractor that we have met so far, well he forgot all about the quote! Lucky we took the advice from bleucheeze and text him. He promised to send it over within these few days...
  14. Problem is the supplier, Kohl's. they don't ship to 'freight forwarder' or 'consolidator' addresses anyways I am betting on Ikea KL now for the lamps... At least these will not require transformers to work
  15. Or will they chase the robot? My previous dogs used to bark at the vacuum cleaner as if it was some alien that just descended onto earth. Always a hilarious sight whenever cleaning is done!
  16. And he still hasn't quoted us yet. Later will also call him to disturb him
  17. I read earlier that the shipping will be pro-rated to the exact space you need so if you need 1.2 cbm, you will be charged. Storage wise, no idea but May replied me once that the shipping time from China warehouse to our Singapore home address is 8 days. Why don't you ask May for her number and call her? Then you can access on the spot if she prefers to converse in English or Mandarin. If she is an auntie, I can help to talk. I am quite good at talking to aunties
  18. Sounds like a good buy! Which model did you get?
  19. Oops I mean if time permits, be there when the lights are being installed and then you will have a good look at the positions and decide on the spot before they drill
  20. Hey guys, is there space for 1 more to join in for TB? We are looking at buying some clocks (unfortunately pretty heavy ones as they are made of metal! Each clock around 4 to 5 kg. Also looking at buying some lamps. Let me know if possible? Thanks!
  21. Or when the lights are being installed, be there to see and go with your gut feel. I always do that heeeheee
  22. My mom uses a Dyson baby DC22... May be old model? But the box says "DC22 Animal Powerful All-round Pet Hair Removal"
  23. My mom was using a karcher before and I recalled that it was rather heavy and cumbersome. Now that she is using Dyson, I must say Dyson is more 'enjoyable' to use. Compact but still powerful! Come to think about it, my mom also used a Rainbow vacuum cleaner before and those are just massive!
