  1. I know but the fridge will complete the look. Still at the $3xxx for the large SMEG fridge, we can buy a fridge and a 40ish inch TV. So we will stash this at 1 corner of our brains first hehe
  2. Wow Alan seems to work very fast!
  3. Your dining bench / chairs will be placed in the recessed area of the wall? It does seem quite big on a second look. I also recall that your table is quite 'slim' and if your bookshelves are 'slim' and the tracks are directly above them, then perhaps it should be ok. Furthermore your cute red lamps are not big so won't look cumbersome.
  4. We saw summersann's fridge next: Heavenly fridges *salivating* by Makanology, on Flickr Wow, wow, wow! They have a matching dishwasher and bar fridge too... It is so hard to resist. Luckily or unluckily, their price is a good obstacle for another impulse buy! Now thinking if we should get the smallest one - the bar fridge at $1780. Trying to brainwash myself - it is a want, not a need. We don't need 2 fridges for 2 persons & 1 furry being. Let's see how long we can resist this LOL
  5. We had another fruitful but tiring day. HDB first, then kaypoh & went into Cash Converters and scored a hit with the limited vodka. Then Courts Toa Payoh which is having a post-season + pre-renovation sale & impulse buy: bought a simple black storage long ottoman seat @ cheap cheap $99 (got further $40 off from UOB instant rewards). Don't know where to put so it will be placed near the shoe cabinet for us to sit & wear shoes. Then we went to meet Mr K, finally, after making the appointment 25 days ago. He looks so different from what I earlier envisioned. But surprise, surprise the chemistry between him and us is not bad! So now hoping his quote will be within our budget & before he leaves for his 2 weeks holiday next week! Then we head to Courts Tampines and saw this: Heavenly fridges *salivating* by Makanology, on Flickr Oh our gosh! These are so gorgeous. Mr E & I couldn't peel our eyes off them and errr, their price tags also very gorgeous! And right after these Bosch darlings, we saw more...
  6. Woo black pipes against the white / honeycomb background - nice! We are slowly swing b/w also but for the living room and doors and windows and display cabinets etc
  7. The space for your dining table and bookshelves seem small. I think it will look cluttered for the wall-mounted fan, pendant lamps (the flower lamps?) and the track lights. Too many things hanging from the ceiling? Maybe focus on one key thing that you feel deserve the most attention?
  8. Hi we are considering Alan too for our 3A resale which is also a very old & original unit. We share the same budget as you. Would it be convenient for you to share with me the cost of your renovation via pm? He has given us the first quote which is $10k above our budget
  9. Hi, wondering if you are using induction or burner hob? Initially we wanted to put 1 ceiling fan in the kitchen cos that's where our dining table is gonna be. But we are using burner hob so it seems silly to turn on the fan while maintaining a good fire for some dishes LOL
  10. Did our 2nd purchase for the house today or actually for our own collection Absolut Vodka Rock Edition by Makanology, on Flickr Was browsing Cash Converters for hidden vintage gems and saw this which we missed out when it was launched. Needless to say, we immediately grabbed it!
  11. @ HDB for our 1st appointment - what a wait and this is only halfway to our journey of getting our keys... Then later to meet the infamous Mr K (appointment made almost a month ago - he is so 王牌!)
  12. Let us know when the tiles are here, curious
  13. Like your mosaic! They are 3D, different from what we have seen so far - good choice!
  14. Hi can u also share the link please? Thanks
  15. Bleucheeze collected hers today and you in 2 days. And our first appointment only tomorrow... What an agonizing wait!
  16. Cui but still chio! Would you be touching up on it? Actually we thought of painting the ikea ones with similar green color too! Cos to match the mirror that we saw on TB
  17. Curious about your mint green vintage table lamp! Show us the pic when you have taken it out.
  18. This is a very outrageous way of using peranakan tiles: Different ways of using peranakan tiles by Makanology, on Flickr Over-usage of these may make it look like an altar or worse, ancestral tomb!
  19. Yes we booked our weekday appointment with him a month ago! And have to meet him near his project...
  20. Both equally nice....are your window grills vertical or horizontal? Choose one that matches your grills best? One silly question: if it is powder-coated, would the white color come off over time?
  21. Yes it is like having an empty paper to start so we can paint them in any colors or prints now suddenly many ideas and just for 2 lamps heeheee
  22. How about Ikea? We were just thinking most kitchen accessories from there and probably some from Amazon
  23. Still look so nice... These tiles have a softer look than the usual peranakan tiles and with a pastel blue base, so pleasing to the eyes
  24. Ya bought 2 only cos I have to ask my KL colleague to drive out to Ikea over the weekend. And then trouble my immediate boss to hand-carry them back. He rolled his eyes when I asked him for the favor haha Think we can spray the lamp shade. The accordion arm is made of chrome so doubt it can be painted at all.
