  1. Hey @owlNbear so nice to have you dropping by! yes man i cannot wait till i complete my reno and hopefully the results would be as satisfactory as yours!
  2. are your cats toilet trained?!!! and i'm sorry to hear about your contractor woes but for all that it's worth, your house turned out amazing! i especially love the bathroom and kitchen i hope mine will be half as nice as yours may i ask for the doors you installed for the concrete vanity - what materials are they made of?
  3. looks like it's worth every penny to me! haha i really wanted to change my toilet bowl too but my fiance insists on using the existing set until it spoils.. i hope u will be able to share the contact with me for changing out your toilet seats if u ever change it!
  4. hello @Bernicelogy thanks! I'm not sure if it is possible but perhaps you can try giving my contractor a call for more quote options! i understand from my sister's friend (who owns a condo) that generally condo renovations come at a more hefty price tag..i am not sure why the premium price - maybe because of the premium housing option and condo regulations? in any case i hope you find a package that is within your budget! hello @Cynthiakhorr you can contact Nick at +65 9690 7887. You're welcome! @lifeissimple oh i really hope it's worth it then! i guess their branding is there and the quality should not be compromised (i really hope so considering we paid it at a higher price compared to other vinyl companies) but then there's other reputable vinyl companies who are just as good. nope i bought it during their anniversary sale which took place sometime last year. hello @Starrain sure will update more when we are further in with our renovations. hahaha thanks the deer pic was something i koped off pinterest LOL when i googled baby animals.
  5. very very nice 3Ds given by your ID! I'm really liking the peranakan backsplash..so tempted to do it myself but my chosen laminate is already a little complicated looking so i guess it wouldn't go with such beautiful tiles. and nice feature wall too..quite different from the usual brick design. I don't really understand what you mean by it being a wall coating and then engraving though..do u mean stucco? is it cheaper than a wallpaper/bricks?
  6. wow very nice updates!!! i'm loving your sliding doors for both your kitchen and MBR toilet did you change your toilet bowl or are you planning to? looking forward to more updates!
  7. hahaha choosing tiles can be a major headache..i completely understand having just gone through it myself. i really liked your contractor's choice of black subway tiles! i have seen some completed renovations with black subway tile as back splash and it gave that extra oomph of glamour but white is always the classic heh. Looking forward to more updates and seeing how your tiles come together! Ooooo I really like your bathroom tiles too - when i was at hafary, even my contractor didn't realize these tiles were from the same family because the grains and patterns were so vastly different and yet it looks so nice together!
  8. Sure, will update when we have made further progress with our renovations. At the moment we are still confirming our carpentry. Looking forward to your t-blog too when the time comes!
  9. Hi @rxgn I will be leaving it exposed and slotting in straw baskets/similar to store toiletries/cleaners. Sorry I'm not comfortable sharing my quote, hope u understand. If it helps, my renovations are between 35k - 40k range.
  10. @Zech Koh ohh semi open in the sense similar to just a bar counter? i thought of sliding panels too but figured i wouldn't slide open the panels very often hence i decided to leave it fixed haha. it's great to keep your options open though! looking forward to your reno process when the time comes! @psyche7 hey you can contact Nick at +65 9690 7887. You can refer to the below reply for my reno process with Nick so far, although i would say it is still a bit premature in the renovations to evaluate him. Thanks for the compliment too @huggermonster hey you can contact Nick at +65 9690 7887. My honest opinion is that Nick is a reliable contractor who you can count on to to do a good job with co-ordinating for your renovations and he is mostly prompt in answering my questions (although sometimes he does leave me hanging for awhile because he is not sure how to answer) and definitely not one of those contractors who will MIA after collecting your money. However, he is different in the sense that he will be very casual and upfront with you about everything, including payments and discussing about renovations. He explicitly states up front that he does not give receipts for payments and even his quotations to you may not be super detailed (there was one time where he forgot to include additional work costs into his quotation..end up he would have lugi-ed if not for my honesty ahha)..but that's part of his character. Recently, he also did not pass me the drawings for my carpentry despite a few reminders because he's busy with quite a few ongoing projects (on the plus side, he is always on site with the workers). He's not the type who would also send frequent photo updates and I didn't expect that from him as i would prefer to go down and check out the progress in person. With that said, he can provide design inputs (although in the end I followed my own designs instead) and will talk about potential problems as you are discussing about the renovations for your house and I liked that about him which is why I chose him. Yes, he can also liaise with Evorich for us as he also works with them, though we have yet to do that. In conclusion, I would say that he has his flaws but he's good for us. Perhaps you can check back again with me when we are further in with our renovations. Hi @Starrain i just checked with Nick and he said that it's normal glass. I was quoted less than 1k for a half height L shape glass panel with aluminium black frame. Hope this helps. Hey @lifeissimple yes actually this was a rather impulsive buy during the Evorich anniversary sale (I think it was a marketing gimmick lol) - i bought it at $6psf nett. Did u manage to get it cheaper?
  11. Hi @Zech Koh our renovations are between 35k - 40k. Our glass panel between the kitchen and dining room will be fixed, are you planning for a fixed or sliding type?
  12. your kitchen island and herringbone flooring! the marble is such a pretty grain, are you also using the evershine brand which @bykaraanne is using too? gorgeous!
  13. omgggg i love all your furniture choices too! yes i agree with your ID on your coffee table, the gold will be lovely against the setting of your house your ID is going to customize a dining table for you? i personally like the american walnut grain more! Gorgeous wood grains! The ebony one is a little too complicated-looking/messy to me haha. i wanted a suar wood dining table at first, but eventually went for a marble-top dining table with wooden legs..you are starting to me make me regret my decision LOL. and you got me really really excited about your journey! can't wait to see how it all looks together!
  14. congrats on finishing your renovations! your house looks so cozy and warm and i like your choice of tiles for your bathroom too! may i ask where you bought your tv console from? i love the walnut shade and legs!
  15. congrats!!! you definitely deserve the feature and you have my vote
  16. thanks for your detailed reply Kara! really really appreciate it
  17. Hi @lianaalin thanks! The reno is still halfway through so the flooring is currently protected with the cardboards so i don't have a proper photo of the completed flooring yet! yes i completely agree that wooden flooring would make your place cozier and warmer - i love wooden flooring but wanted it to be fuss-free so i went for porcelain tiles which looked like wood My tiles are currently 90 x 120cm which are quite long and may have warping issues - i have not inspected it properly yet. In terms of maintenance, it should be as easy as maintaining your normal tiled floor! However, if you are concerned with warping issues, it would be better for you to go for shorter wooden tiles. I will update again when i have completed my reno! Sure will pm you
  18. I love your place!!! It's gorgeous and truly a dream bachelor (i think it even works for bachelorettes as well hahaha) pad. Super love your laminates as well - i love darker tones of woods like walnut shades but am still afraid of whether they might be too "old-fashioned" so i am still looking around different brands of laminates. May i please ask if you still remember the brand/model code of the laminate you used for your kitchen cabinet and coffee pantry area?
  19. Hi Kara! I was reading about your gas heater and that you chose to take Macro over Ferroli because there were more complains about the latter (and i was going to go for the latter LOL). May i please ask how is the Macro working for you? Is the water instantly hot and remains hot throughout your bath time? Is there any gas smell in your service yard/black spots on clothes from the carbon (??? i have no idea why somebody said there was - that sounds quite hazardous actually)? Sorry for the noob questions because i am currently using an instant heater at my mum's place and have absolutely no experience with gas heaters - online comments are not that informative either. Thank you!
  20. thank you for the advice @bipps ! I have not ordered from taobao before so i will do my research first. i think both gold and silver will go nicely with your bathroom theme, although i am a sucker for rose gold/light champagne gold. i think if you would like your bathroom to have a little pop of colour, you can go for the gold option in my humble opinion looking forward to more updates! i reallllyyyy love marble too!
  21. your taobao purchases are amazing!! other than the defects, i think your vanity fits in perfectly in your bathroom! Your bathroom looks so luxurious now could you please share the link or your customized 1.8m mirror? thanks!
  22. I got the SLM-900 but only because it was the cheapest model available for Fujioh quoted by Ban Kim Chuan hahaha. By the way, if you are looking for appliances, you can also consider Ban Kim Chuan at Bedok heh. My parents bought all their appliances there because their prices are pretty good, and I have checked out courts/lion city before going to BKC and realized theirs are really more competitive. You can ask for Mrs Tan if u r keen! Also, i have not installed my appliances yet, will let you know when i do!
  23. No problem happy to help! I am not sure if your contractor may be able to do it for you at a cheaper price though, no harm asking! Will pm u!
