  1. Heehee...finding excuse to buy one for myself, something my wife may not agree...hahaha....
  2. We may be trying out Neo Garden's dinner service soon. MIL can no longer take care our boy for us, so got to leave him in childcare. Everyday tabao food a little sianz already.
  3. I spent $3200 for the toshiba invertor sys4. I got 2 boys, and we use the study quite often, hot weather is coming up, so finally decided to go for it. For your case, can't really tell you what is the best, but for me, another decision is if we decide to do aircon later, the trunking work will be enormous. Unlike when my mum install her 2 rooms recently, easy job with min trunking, our 4 rooms no joke, with piping starting from common toilet, and all through the 4 rooms. Need to have water pipe back to bathrooms (either one). When I saw them doing it, I was glad I decided to do it now. But whether to go invertor or not, thats a tough decision. My masterbedroom re-using my existing bed. Or coz ideally is to customise the bed to fit perfectly, but that will blow my budget. So re-using our existing (slightly oversize) bed is a must. We also have a side table and a 4-chest of drawer that we are re-using. So have to make sure everything fit and customise the wardrobe accordingly. So far so good. Still waiting to mount my TV, looking for someone to do it. So far Sony quoted me $90 (before GST I presume) and another company quoted me $53.50 (incl GST). So where did you buy in the end?
  4. Err...I am referring to the accumulation of dust. So far the wooden blade the wind is also as strong (at least that is how I feel). Usually on no.2, at night sleep on no.1 only. Hardly on no.3 unless I am doing physical work on a hot day.
  5. How's the reno coming along? Completed? Half way done? Almost done?
  6. Haha...ya...didn't see you for some time liao.
  7. Finally, after I have started to move in, that I begin to find bits of time to start a Reno T-blog. Will take my time to slowly post some pictures here. Background Place: Admiralty Drive, Sembawang Type: Executive Apartment Size: 131sqm No. of rooms: 3 BR + 1 STUDY Floor Plan (Think this has been posted before just showing how I intend to use the space) As we are on a tight budget, we plan to do up everything we need with a 20K budget (including any reno + appliances and furnitures). No hacking of any sort to cut cost. We do have quite a bit of existing furnitures/appliances we can reuse. Reno Plan Kitchen Cabinet Master Wardrobe Painting Wallpaper Roller blind/Curtains Feature to hide bomb shelter door Master Toilet Shower Screen Window Grilles + 2 sliding window Some plumbing work (min) Some electrical work (min) Appliances Ceiling Fans Instant Water Heater Lights Washing Machine Hood Hob Oven Aircon Light switch/Heater Switch TV Furnitures TV console Sofa Storeroom racks Desk Bathroom accessories Kitchen accessories CD Tower rack Wardrobe for guest room Side table for guest room That's all for now.
  8. My tutu experience, always bring you to places you don't want to go. We wanted to go MBK, took us to 3 or 4 other location (the usual jewelry place, tailor, etc..) before finally bring us to MBK. Super cheap though. My prefer mode of transport is taxi.
  9. Hmm...my previous ones are the metal type, this time is the wooden type. My feel is not as fast as those standing fan. That is how my wife feel too.
  10. Just checking, how much is it? Don't think got many (if any) people using it. Induction hob still very new to most people, and most still prefer real fire. I use vitroceramic and would have gone for induction if not for the price. Note you need the right pots and pans to using induction hob.
  11. Hope you like it. We simply love the idea of having ceiling fans. There are many people who installed ventilation fan in toilet, some with HDB approval, and some didn't ask for approval. I think it should be approved since some of them got approval letter from HDB.
  12. Great! Looking forward to seeing the pix. Very incline to get it fixed. BTW do you use timer? So you have to run a wiring from the switch point to inside the bathroom? Can tap from existing W/H point?
  13. You can try checking out alumix.com
  14. Not that difficult, I installed my own light switches. Water heater switches are a bit more confusing.
  15. NICE! But not cheap, about S$37.50 to ship it from overseas. Anyone interested maybe see if buy more can save on shipping. I am very interested.
  16. As mentioned, I read in CNET that they also use HDMI cables from monoprice, so I bought them since they are cheap. If you buy 2 6ft HDMI cables, before shipping is <US$5. Even add shipping should not be expensive. If you go through MO in xtremeplace, the guy charge $10 shipping per cable. I did my own shipping as I bought HDMI cables, component, rca, audio, speaker cables, monitor cable, etc...and it work out on avg (based on my order) or 84% of the item price for shipping, which I find very reasonable. If there is enough demand for cables/items from monoprice.com, we may do our own MO and share the shipping cost. As for whether they are good, hard to say. I read from reports that expensive HDMI cables are not necessary, off coz for my case it is ok as I may not be able to tell the difference, but CNET people seems to think that it is good enough for them, and they review some very high end system.
  17. Monoprice.com? Over at xtremeplace.com they have a mass order going through, you might wanna ask if HDMI switch is ok. I actually did my own direct ordering, including shipping charges still quite good price. Read on CNET that they use cables from monoprice.com too and find them to be quite good. I may be getting some more items from them soon maybe we want to share the shipping cost?
  18. REALLY! Some more like got 1 year warranty if any breakage or crack can change right? Or I read wrongly. But at least not as easily broken right? Still trying to decide if to get it. My wife say the design is too 'sweet' looking. Hahaha...but if it is like not so easily broken/crack/chip then its a good consideration coz got kids at home.
  19. Anyone know where else you can get Corelle dinnerware at a good price? Usually places like Robinson, Tangs, Metro, Taka, all got a 'premium' price. Anywhere to get this brand at a cheaper price? Like it as it is (as claimed) break-proof, crack-proof, chip-proof but NOT bullet-proof.
  20. As mentioned, Choo Chiang marketing is the place! Main Office: No. 10 Woodlands Loop. Cheers!
  21. I received my sofa from them 2 Sat ago, they called 1week+ before the delivery date to confirm, call again the day before delivery, and arrived early on actual day. So far so good.
  22. I am officially moved it! Just move it last Sat, but due to some last min changes, my kitchen is not up yet...hahaha...so much so for self co-ordination. So now we are living without a kitchen, which hopefully will complete by this week. Me and my big mouth that throw the whole schedule apart. But am I glad I moved, kinda cramp at the old place, now so much better. Kekeke....
  23. Choo Chiang Marketing No.10 Woodlands Loop If you have the HDB door bell (switch), there will be some wiring inside your house, some is in kitchen, for mine is in living room. Wherever the wire is expose, you most likely got to install there. Take note the wire is basically a connection to your door chime that gives a short circuit to sound the bell when the door bell (switch) is depressed. The door chime itself will still need to put battery.
  24. I was there recently, they don't have stock for it (no demand) so it's on order basis. Didn't ask for the price since I don't intend to get it. It is digital.
