Hmm...sometimes it's sales tactics, sometimes really no idea one. But most of the case is the former. And I think it's the same everywhere, not just restricted to these 2 places. Bench seat...nice! I like it but my wife don't, maybe she see too much of that everyday (she's the teacher, so maybe it reminds her of the school canteen).. !!

No choice, this reno I am on the tightest budget yet it's a bigger house. Hmm...white timer switch...can consider...kekeke...

I'm also a regular MJ player, play regularly once a year !! Big2 easier to play, one deck of cards and can play anywhere, anytime...hahaha.... Got swimming pool in sembawang? Don't think anytime soon lah, sembawang is simply too small an estate.

Timer switch? Never ask before leh. Maybe when I go there again I ask them, just realise I counted wrongly, short of 2x 1-gang switch (forgot the toilets!). You replacing yourself? The stupid heater switch when I try to change, I follow, N1 (old ABB)-1, L1-L1, N2-2, L2-L2, G-G, than on it, than *pop*. Even the outside main door circuit breaker trip, think muz be big time problem. Wonder if the original wiring got problem. Anyone know how to test? Was thinking of switching the 1s and 2s (no other way liao right) but haven't got the heart to try yet. Still recovering from the previous shock...haha...thank God for circuit breakers. Can show me the pix of the SCV point? Did you buy the power socket also? How much is the SCV point?

The Ceiling Fan Debate
keltong replied to reload72's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
Think a picture speaks a thousand words $150 (exclude installation but include light kits). From Palace of Lights. Happy with the fan so far but the light bulb they give is the non-branded energy saving. Think cheapo one...kekeke... -
Ang mo no good lah...don't laugh at me please

Choo Chiang $18. If you feel rich can buy at Homefix at $30.80 LOL...coz maybe doorbell is consider a very personal things loh (when things not provided got to find excuse like this to make myself feel better )...coz many don't even like doorbell and don't put it altogether. Some like different tone, some like different look. Alert alert...price drop...but before it goes up...alert over...just kidding hor, I have no idea if the price will go up or come down.

ID always tell us can't save much one leh. The last time I also thinking of changing door only but my ID told me only $100-$200 diff, but come to think of it cannot be leh. That time never think problem and change the whole thing. Imagine they need to hack and rebuild the wardrobe, how can be not much difference. All carpentry wood prices are going up because wood prices have gone up quite a bit so just changing door should be much cheaper. But do note to ensure the current wardrobe the inside is in good condition. Call a few ID or just carpentry contractor to compare quotes. Since changing door only don't need to let ID earn as middleman unless you are doing lots of reno and don't want the hassle of con-ordinating yourself.

Pull Door Or Sliding Door Glass Shower Screen

I bought mine FULL leather at Home2B for $1699 during their promo. Original is I think $1999 or $2099. You might want to take a look. The reason I buy full leather is, if dark color, I heard will have 2 colors after some time (how long I don't know). Artificial leather part likely to tear more easily and genuine leather. All these are hearsay so I cannot confirm also. I'm sure if you take care it will still be ok. Also, mine is L-shape so lots of expose area (they always say if the fake leather is against the wall than no problem) so prefer to get full leather.

Living On 2nd Floor
keltong replied to russell's topic in Moving House: Packing, Storing, Moving To Your New House
Hi, I lived in 2nd floor when I bought my 1st flat and stayed for 8yrs there. The problem I face is mosquito problem which my parents opp at 11th floor don't face. But it is convenient as no need to wait for lift, good when in the rush Another problem is when people burn paper, have to close all the windows. I've got 2 big tree in front of my living room, good for privacy but bad coz not much wind and not much light coming in. Cockroach visit you first so you need to have your 'defence' mechanism setup. During long holiday when no one clear the rubbish try not to open your rubbish chute. No problem if yours is central (outside your house). Cordless phone bring downstairs also can use, notebook bring downstairs also can receive your wireless. But the most important thing is (and this is not restricted to low floor) if you have good neighbours, than 2nd floor or 40th floor also not so bad, but if you have lousy neighbours, than 2nd floor or 40th floor also just as bad. -
And I believe the ikea one the leg is adjustable.

Finally got my doorbell picture. Here it is. Put a 50cent coin for you to compare the size. Will post another pix when I fix it up. HDB will not supply doorbell one, the wire is for you to connect to the doorbell. Once connected, should not see the wire liao.

I expect it will not be the best...but better than nothing at all. My worry is too much devices using the 2.4GHz spectrum so don't know got interference boh...
-
Err...it was arranged by my brother, he knows some painters and got them to paint for me. So I just leave it to him.

Was thinking of getting overseas but the power voltage will be diff and will need transformer, which makes it more ley chey. I would prefer cables if it can be laid easily and nicely. I no ID leh, reno on a budget. I know, but just nice got a power pt just behind my sofa, so that's why I tot of this.

Good for you!

Cool, I like the writer's simple explanation.

Today never go new house leh...paisei...but if you happen to walk past homefix, you should be able to see it. It's the Legrand series, size is as big as the light switch.

Anyone know where in Singapore can find this?

They are cheap if you use the emulsion paint. If you use any of those you can find in the normal paint catalog, the price shoots up. The paint is ok lah, the most basic one and with limited colors, so if the colors happen to be those you like, than it is ok. My colleague got them to paint his 4NG flat at I think around $450 or $500. Paint use is either Nippon Matex or ICI Super Maxlite. My colleague choose Matex. He seems quite satisfied with their work and recommended to us. FYI normal Nippon/ICI paint (those you see in the catalog) cost about $50-$60 per 5 litre, Matex/SuperMaxlite cost about $50 for 20 (TWENTY) litre. Thus they can charge you cheaper. My EA there quote me $1400 for normal (they call good paint) and $1100 (or $1000, cannot remember) for the cheaper paint (they call normal paint). In the end because they take like forever to get back to me (ok, the boss is an extremely bz guy as I think he got other biz) so I didn't use them.
