The safest way is to dismantle your existing locks & bring them with you to the shop. You can never go wrong. My reno contractor did the dismantling work & my bf brought them with him to the shop when he did the buying.
-
I bought all my locks from this shop too. Has many varieties and price very reasonable. Cheaper than those gold plated ones in IMM

Bro MaCe, got a chinese name for this Acetone or not? I ever asked Patrick what to use to wipe off the paint on my aluminium windows frame, he said "Spirit", or in chinese "Fire Water". Is Spirit the same as Acetone?

Enquiry On House Income For New Hdb
yokine9a replied to cony's topic in Housing Rules, Policies and Procedures
From what I know it is at the point of buying the house, no need few mths record. -
You can DIY... Not difficult as most of the new lock packing comes with instruction guide. My bf who is an Accounting auditor & knows nothing abt electronics/mechanics changed them for my house. If you are using a contractor/ID for your house reno, can ask him to do it for you FOC.

It is made of rubber. The same feel when you touch rubber bands Of course with this rubber mat, you won't get to admire the beauty of parquet cos it is being covered by the mat. So, which one do you want? An ugly parquet floor with scratches on it, or a rubber mat with beautiful parquet floor below?
-
You can consider getting a rubber protection mat to place underneath the bench. My bf bought one for my study table & chair. Can find them from DIY or home-fix stores, even some $2 shops sell them too.

Enquiry On House Income For New Hdb
yokine9a replied to cony's topic in Housing Rules, Policies and Procedures
You can submit your application anytime from now. As long as there is no CPF contribution in your wife's CPF account, it proves that she is not working. HDB will do the necessary checking and also get your wife to do a declaration paperwork of income status. -
Experience gained & knowledge learnt from travelling is good, they will add values & colours to our lives. I don't mean shopping hor, buying lots of oversea souvenirs has very little value to our lives. They only create holes in our pockets

No problem, people like us who own a HDB flat will sell ours and buy those surplus private units in 2010 -
I ever asked Ah Keong how much it would cost me to do a 6.5ft build-in wardrobe in my MBR, he quoted me $1.8k for frosted glass door & $1.5k for wooden door. Too exp for me. In the end, I bought a ready-made 6ft wardrobe from S&C at $900. If cheap custom-made wardrobe is available, I think everyone will chiong for their service

S&C Furniture shop in AMK. Bought my wardrobe from them... Better wood quality... Frame is naytoh... Very solid & heavy. Not sure how IKEA's pants holding system is like... But I have around 40 pants & I used the lower compartment to hang them... No problem for me

I am staying in TPY. As for the price of the next DBSS in TPY... really shouldn't be too expensive... because location wise not that fantastic... situated in between TPY & Braddell MRT... neither here or there... at least 15 mins walk to both MRT stations. The only good point about it is, opposite is the wet market + hawker centre. In case some of you are not aware of, a 3-room corner flat in TPY sold for $330 in May. Just a mid-floor unit but facing the bus interchange... sheltered walkpath all the way to HDB Hub. -

Yes, very crazy now... Don't know if I can still afford to upgrade the next time... Maybe no chance liao -
Hi all, just a silly qtn from me Should I air-dry my clothings before I steam them? Or the moment I take them out from the washer, I can start using the steamer on them? Sounds more productive & time-saving if I don't need to air-dry them before hand... anyway they will still get wet by the steamer... but don't know if this is the best way Thank you

Agree with brother MaCe. I don't usually have guests coming to my place often, so getting a sofa doesn't justify the need & cost. In the end, I bought 2 arm chairs from IKEA. With a simple coffee table in between, these 3 pieces of furniture turn my living room into a small cosy corner for TV watching. Feel comfortable while I am at home though none of my furniture & appliance costs > $1k

Sorry, what so special abt year 2010 ah? Sounds like a turning point for property market -

I only spent $10k to get Ho Bee do the basic things, so I guess my house looks the same as everyone else liao. Frankly speaking, how special & diff can a house be? One still has a TV, sofa, dinning set, kitchen cabinet, fridge, w/m, bed, wardrobe etc, how diff can one go? If one wants his/her house to look special & diff, turn it into a cave with none of the above items listed. I am very sure it will be the one & only one in Sgp

I think yours is granite. The underside of it is grey cos it was not polished. If polish, it will look the same like your topside, glossy black. As for the paint, not sure what it is. Maybe you should post a pic of it here. I chose Blue Pearl for my granite worktop, see below for pic. http://www.stone-network.com/italy/granite/blue_pearl.html Initially, I wasn't quite used to it, kept seeing dirts or stains on it but couldn't clean them. After a while, I slowly gotten used to its design & became lazy to wipe liao. Don't worry abt scratching it with your dishes, granite is very hard.

Phew, I don't have any of these in my newly renovated flat From this forum, I get to know that a lot of people go for feature wall, but didn't know that pebbles/sand is the in thing too. People still go for string curtains meh? I thou that was only popular in the 70s or 80s? I didn't even do plastering to the walls. Ho Bee's painter asked me a few times why I didn't want to do that, I told him I am ok to see brick lines on the walls
