Sad to read this real horror story. Not sure why the 'xiao gui' wanted to kill those innocent people, bcos that family occupied its house?

I didn't compare. I simply got my contractor to do all the reno work for me. So, he earned $210 just for subcontracting the work to a plumber. What an easy $$

$120k should have included bonus & 13th AWS, so $10k per month is not accurate. If > $8k, can only go for bank loan.

My contractor charged me $550 for changing to copper. $1K is too expensive liao. Actually PVC is ok lor, don't see the need to change. Is your flat a very old unit?

The criteria goes by monthly combined income, ie. monthly household income not exceeding $8,000.

Help Needed For Wall Tiles!
yokine9a replied to WoodandSand's topic in Ceiling, Walls and Flooring Works
No, it is not a must. In fact, you can do away with skirting, I find it is almost useless. -
But those who are doing L-shape cabinet will most likely have their sinks facing the kitchen entrance, which means when a person is using the sink, his back is facing the entrance. Is this ok?

I engaged a contractor to do the reno of my flat few mths ago. Response from him was reasonably ok. Beforehand I had been warned that this contractor was usually very busy with projects on hand, he didn't give fast response to verbal requests for quotations. However, once you have confirmed engaging him to do the work, he would become pretty on & pushed to get work done within schedule. Contractors are cheaper than IDs bcos lesser overheads needed to run the biz. You got excellent service from IDs could be due to they have little work to do in the office

Yes, Sofix has another product for parquet flooring as well. I personally think that parquet is diff from laminate, so I don't suggest to use the same cleaning agent for these 2 floor types. I don't recommend to use it for cupboard laminates. Kitchen cloth from 3M can do a good job for this. I clean my floor once a week. Follow the instructions on the printed label on recommended proportion to use. But I don't use so much water to mop my laminated flooring, abt 1+ litre each time, I pour abt 1/5 of the Sofix cap.

Didn't know that is a trade secret. Was told by the installer to close my windows when rolling up/down of my blinds. He said that would prevent the blinds from rolling side way. Although I find it very troublesome, I thought that was logical & follow his advice till now. But my bf is a lazy guy, he always forgot to close the windows when rolling it down As for the pom pom noise, was told by another forumer that bumper tag should help. However, I can't find a flat surface on my blinds to stick it, so I am using blue-tag at the edge of the roller. At least not that noisy now. Can't think of other useful tool to stop the noise

I am using Sofix too. It givs my laminated flooring a smooth feel. $12++ is a very good price. NTUC is selling around $8 each, even when having sale, still not lesser than $7. Must share share your lobang when carrefour got sale

Sad to see that you are back again. I thought your problem has been solved. Have you ever tried talking to your MP for help? Sometimes, your MP can help to get things move. Especially you are living in AMK, go & knock on PM's door. I find the policemen here not really helpful & approachable. Their salary is drawn from our tax payment & they are our civil servant leh.

Final Inspection Before 2nd Appointment!
yokine9a replied to skyy's topic in HDB New/Resale Flats, Executive Condominiums
Sounds ok to me, but to be on the safe side, better seek your lawyer's advice on this. -
I read from another article that a woman had a miscarriage previously, since then her house was haunted with a ghost which believes to be her baby’s spirit. No one is going to tell you this if you were to buy over her house

I paid $100 for my granite in March this year.

Well, whether you will see the ghosts or not, it depends on your luck bah I read from newspaper that a family has been renting the unit in TPY where 2 kids were murdered many yrs ago, nothing strange happened to them lor.

Standard is defined by human beings Sellers will definitely want to sell high, but being the buyer, you are free to bargain with them & buy low. The market is not so hot now, don't think they can stay strong in demanding high COV.

I also encountered something strange happened in my flat. I moved into it 5 mths ago. Abt 2 mths after I moved in, I noticed some light grey cement-like powders on the silicon gel of my handwash basin in the kitchen. After I wiped it off, it came back the next day. It happened for 2 days only. Never came back afterthat. I did not drill any holes on top of the basin & there was no reno work in my house during that time, have no idea where on earth these powders came from. This morning, I saw a patch of gel that looks like nose **** on the wall, between my bed & the bedside table. Both my bf & myself are clean persons, we won't stick our nose **** on the wall. And I don't remember I have ever dug my nose while I was laying on my bed. So, where does the **** come from? Other than these 2 incidents, nothing strange happens. I am scared. Should I engage a high monk to bless my house? I didn't do that before I moved in.

Cheapest Way To Do Flooring?

My kitchen cabinet is straight. I have a pretty long kitchen But L-shaped is very common nowadays due to smaller kitchen in newer flats. Great in saving space. -
Cheapest Way To Do Flooring?
yokine9a replied to pinkpetter's topic in Ceiling, Walls and Flooring Works
I used a contractor to handle my reno. His name is Patrick & company name is Ho Bee, pretty famous in this forum. Workmanship wise, based on what I have found out from other forumers who used him previously, frankly speaking, his standard has dropped a bit in my personal view. Maybe I am a perfectionist who want everything to start in a swee sweee condition, especially this is my first flat & I plan to live in it for at least 10 yrs. His office # is 67885841, look for Mrs Quek. One thing good abt Ho Bee is, they won't chop you like a carrot. They are honest guy. I spent $1700 for the rewiring. This excludes the cost for my switches & power sockets. I wanted the big button design from Legrand & paid separately for them. The diff prices could be due to wire tapping. Someone in this forum said some electricians tap wires to cut cost, ie. they don't lay a single wire from the main circuit box all the way to the switch, they can tap here & there. This is no good in the long run, might cause short circuit & overload the electrical power. Being a layman, people like us won't see the diff since wires are consealed in the trunking. So be careful if the price is too good to be true Actually, you can forget abt getting ID from the expo exhibition. They are either too expensive or too free to sit there waiting for big fish. Look around the t-blog in this forum, you can find many good IDs/contractors based on forumers who used them for their flats.
