Oh dear... I really hate dust and lazy to clean it so often... and the worst thing is I'll be placing it beside my balcony sliding door! :bangwall:

Guess I might have to switch to another table..

Anyway thanks for your useful advise! :D

Looking for good contractors? Click here for your request

don't change the table because of this reason , cuz let say if u get a white one is still going to be as dusty as the black one the difference is that is not so obvious and it might be very dusty and u still think is clean so might be bad too , so choose what u really like the most important dont let all this little factor affect your buying and when u hv a beautiful place u will clean it more often than you ever think you will

congrats cs! i am so envious of your sofa. if I had a sofa as big as that, i'd probably name it - like Willy the sofa or something. unfortunately i don't think furniture that size can even fit inside my door much less my living room.

hope you are enjoying your place!

Updates! (25 Jul 2011)

Woah! been a long time since i've last updated...

We have shifted in to our new place abt 2-3 weeks back...

and here are some pics of after the shift-in...

let's start with the home-cooked dinner...

Dinner 1

01%20Dinner%201.JPG

First home-cooked dinner at our new place! Fried luncheon meat + xiao bai cai with oyster sauce + fried eggs with onions. A commendable effort, considering the fact that both of us never really cook previously and the dishes were actually edible. :P

Dinner 2

02%20Dinner%202.JPG

2nd homecooked dinner. Baked beans with luncheon meat (the half-can left over from the first dinner), and soup (anchovies, fishballs, Chinese cabbage?, enoki mushrooms, chinese tofu). Bloated.

Dinner 3

03%20Dinner%203.JPG

3rd homecooked dinner with some leftovers from the lunch. Fried rice with eggs, sausages, carrot bits. Slightly on the salty side. Need to have better understanding of the condiments used. Some pan-fried salmon and roasted duck leftovers.

Baked potato wedges

04%20Baked%20potato%20wedges.JPG

Wife trying out the new Bosch oven... Baked potato wedges with some spice powder and herb flakes on it. Not too bad. :)

Projector + HTS

05%20Projector%201.JPG

06%20Projector%202.JPG

finally arranged for KEC guy to come down to install the projector (EPSON TW3600) + HTS (Q Acoustics 1000 series) + Onkyo 708 AVR...

changed the rear surround speakers to white in-ceiling speakers instead for less clutter...

"woody" speakers and tv console...

now i just need a blu-ray player and lots of discs... LOL... :D

Arco Lamp Replica

07%20Arco%20Lamp%201.JPG

08%20Arco%20Lamp%202.JPG

The monster-sized Arco Lamp replica is up! It's too big and "crowded" for the living room. So it's now the centerpiece for the dining room. Not too bad. :)

Housewarming party (cont)

13%20Housewarming%205.JPG

The projector works much better with the curtains down... or at night... in the day... its performance is ermmm... not very gd, esp in ECO-mode...

14%20Housewarming%206.JPG

Playing "Just Dance 2!" on the Wii... the kids love it... i think it's a gd work-out game... really can sweat quite a bit... now maybe i need a Kinect too. :D

Garden at the balcony

15%20Garden.JPG

Our balcony is "bustling" with green, after much unwanted "donations" from parents from both sides...

but at least, there's some green ard now... :D

MBR table

16%20MBR%20table.JPG

went to IKEA last weekend to get a table for the MBR, as we can't stand having all our stuff lying ard & no proper tv console...

The stupid IKEA table which almost took me the whole of last night to fix. My back is aching now. Wife doesn't want a full-size work desk in the MBR. Will get another proper working table for the guestroom/study. For now, I'll work at the dining area (with no aircon). :(

My temp work area

17%20Temp%20work%20area.JPG

My temp work area for now. Bleahz. :bleah:

Your projector stuff looks cool bro, yeah probably much better with the blockout curtains.

I did blockout rollerblinds at the balcony. When pulled down, whole house becomes super dark even in the day!

Congrats and enjoy your house!! Post more pics of attempted home-cooked meals.. haha

IMHO

You are not maximizing your HT setup... Your front speakers are jammed into a corner, near the side and rear wall... Bare floors give a lot of reflection of sound and so do the walls.. I guess you need to have a balance of acoustics and aesthetics, otherwise there are cheaper options than those Q Acoustic speakers... And their subwoofer isn't the tightest. Better to move it out slightly and place it on an isolation platform...

The centre speaker should come to the edge of your console and use rubber door stoppers to dampen vibrations and allow it to point at your ear level when you are seated..

Cheers.

I like your concept of the kitchen having a extension of the table for dining purpose...
