what is the rate? Anyway, thumbs-up for delivery uncle. hehe.. he was very nice about it and still tell me its okie. Before reaching still ask me to come home now.. when i said i need 20 mins, he told me to be careful and dont rush, they will wait for me. When i reached home, uncle was waiting for me at my door and still advise me about my items. It seems that there is one item with a clank clank sound, and concerned that an item was broken, he opened it while waiting for me, to see if there is anything broken. even told me if item is broken, how to tell seller to refund. HAHA.. end up, the item tt had the clank clank sound is actually a metal cage. then he told me got another one with sound inside the box, but coz i arrived, he didnt have time to open. So he asked me to check. I didnt have enough money to pay him, so he say nvm, go to office then pay also okie when i pick up last item. I bought uncle kali-pok and cold drinks as i saw them very sweaty. he stack my things nicely and told me which one is fragile also. even help me to pack properly in my storeroom. Thumbs up for Amcon uncles! =D this weekend we will open and check all our things to see how are the items..

My old refrigerator must have heard me talking about it. So it chose to break down over the weekend. I rushed down to Courts. I only know of one place that sells these American refrigerators, Courts. There is only one brand, Whirlpool and one model! [back to Table of Contents]

So as you guys know I have been busy travelling to HK and being stuck in reservist the past couple of weeks, leaving our ID to handle the renos (which should be the case) without my usual daily supervision. I am pleased to announce that the contractors have finished their work and we are finally at the end of our reno (save for some touch ups)! We have also officially moved in and have been sleeping at our new home since Saturday which is when my wife came back to Singapore. Although there has been a lot of cleaning already done (courtesy of the wife), we have had to clean it again every day because of the residual dust lying on the cabinets or in the air, paint and glue stains left behind etc. Actually, we shouldn't have to clean paint stains right?? Whatever the case, it's such a good feeling to move into a home you can truly call your own. I'll be posting pics of the completed reno in the next couple of posts so bear with me. Let's start with the kitchen shall we: Kitchen Pics So here is our completed kitchen with the quartz top and white glass backsplash finally in. Do ignore the unsightly plastic bag hanging at the window area. The appliances such as stove, oven, washer and dryer have also been installed so we're all set! Citygas is only coming to turn on the gas tomorrow though, so that will complete things. Note to self: take a close up picture of the Rinnai 3CG stove. Loving the reflection of the under cabinet LED strip lights bouncing off the glass backsplash. Adds to the brightness of the kitchen and we can really see what we're cooking. The Samsung fridge we bought is nice and big, not to mention white to fit the look of the kitchen. The shelf next to it will be used to place some crockery and perhaps dry foodstuff, can't wait to bring those over from my parent's place where they still sit. Overall, quite pleased with the look and space of the kitchen. A close up view of the light produced by the LED strip lights. Can't get enough of looking at the AJ replica wall lights - they create a softer mood and provide nice ambient lighting when you don't need to turn on all the kitchen lights. A closer view of our humongous fridge and Commune shelf. View of the 'yard' area of the kitchen which houses our washer, dryer and cleaning tools. Lastly, a close up view of our Sellena sink together with our tap/pull out spray faucet dual combo. The spray faucet comes in very handy when washing stubborn food remains off of plates etc.

Great idea with the 300 pcs! I cannot stand the different colours, sizes, design hangers in the wardrobe. It is so unorganized and look messy, especially if it is a WIW with no doors.

very unique window grilles design. with limited budget, my guess is to only do the following: Flooring overlay with laminate or/and vinyl. Just only hack the skirting and not the entire floor. Overlay is cheaper than hacking the entire floor and lay tiles. Repaint all the walls No L-Box/false ceiling Change all electrical wiring (this is compulsory) Revamp the toilet Revamp the kitchen. No demolishing of walls and/or building up any false walls. No carpentry except the kitchen cabinets. If got budget, then do customized wardrobe, else buy off-the-shelf. Replace with new aircon and/or no aircon but have ceiling fans. No box-up.

Would like to share a purchase here An iRobot roomba 780! It's a bit noisy, but I could schedule it to work before I come home. So far so good. Check out the amount of dog hair it picked up! And I only just swept the floor late last night. This is especially good for people who keep dogs that shed lots, like mine!

The concept for the renovation is modern resort-scandinavian look. The living room floor tiles will be wood tiles and the 2 bedrooms will have laminate flooring. Lightings will be mixture of warm and cool-white with ceiling fans and air-con in all rooms except the kitchen & toilets (of course) The kitchen will be different. It will be industrial-grey-stainless steel look. The floor files will be grey. No kitchen wall tiles but it will be painted glossy-grey. To ensure that the kitchen does not look too dark, the kitchen cabinets will be stainless steel laminate so that it matches the stainless steel look of Samsung/LG refrigerator and also the kitchen sink/mixer. Lightings in the kitchen will be cool-white
