1 pointMy screen doesn't leak. However, I can draw a few possibilities based on the not very clear photo: The leak is through the fixed panel. I had this issue because the silicon wasn't applied properly but it was resolved after re-application. The leak is through the gap between the door and the fixed panel. If this is so, it could be due to the overlap between the door and fixed panel is too short. It could also be the silicon flap fixed at the end of the door is not functioning well. All these are based on the assumption that you did not spray water in the direction of the gap between the door and panel.

1 pointHi Wayne, the quotation clearly stated that we are not allowed to post it on public forums or media without their permission... It's understandable as due to varying scope of works (the devil is in the details), the quotation can be misconstrued... competitors will create fake accounts to come blast the quotation, etc.... But the general figure is in my posting... You can get a feel of its competitiveness.

1 pointSome updates again. Someone asked for our floor plan, so here it is. Hubby and I headed to JB yesterday for a day trip to check out some of the recommended lighting shops mentioned by other kind forummers. So we went to Tampo Lighting Centre first to check out downlights. Indeed they have very cheap downlights at RM45-48 (4inch, 12W, 3colour LED square downlights). Their T5 lights which we needed to get for cove lighting also seemed quite cheap at RM15-18 depending on the length. Unfortunately, the initial model of downlights which we wanted to get at Tampoi was out of stock and we were told to come back again over the weekend. So we decided to just get the T5 lights from them first. We then went next door to check out Star World Lighting... they were selling some made-in-malaysia downlights for RM42 which we initially were keen to get. However, upon closer inspection I realised that the quality was really lousy! The downlights had painted exteriors (white colour) and the paint job was horrible. So it was a no-go. We felt bad because we decided not to proceed with the purchase after inspecting some 10 downlights one by one... so decided to buy some squarish ceiling lights for service yard/toilets/bomb shelter from them. Quite cheap at RM58-68 per light so we decided to buy it. We then checked out Yako Lighting Centre but their downlights were so expensive! RM68... and made in china type. So we left and went to check out Best Light Electrical. However, on the way there we got lost and just couldn't seem to locate the shop lot on GPS... in the end we stumbled upon another small light shop Project Electricial at 65 & 67 Jalan Rosmerah 2/2 Taman Johor Jaya, 81100 Johor Bahru This place was such a wonderful discovery for us! The lady boss Ms Leena Chen is a really warm and friendly lady, with absolutely no hard selling. Her downlights (same as the ones sold at Tampoi) were offered the cheapest at RM38 per downlight. Her T5 lights were also selling slightly cheaper... but too bad hubby and I already bought from Tampoi. They have a nice variety of ceiling and pendant lights too and more designs to come... i couldn't make up my mind about which pendant light i liked (for dining area) so didn't commit to a purchase. Ms Leena told me not to rush into it if I have yet to spot 'THE ONE' and will whatsapp me new designs when they arrive. This is the downlight which we bought. Really happy with it - and at such a price, it's too good a deal to pass up on. Initially hubby and I were thinking if the price difference isn't a lot in JB and Singapore, we will just buy in Singapore... but this is easily more than 50% in cost savings... so we decided to just do it! It's made in taiwan... which is similar to many downlights sold in Singapore too. So hubby and I decided to take the leap of faith and buy it. Ms Leena also gave us 1year warranty on all the downlights. We strongly recommend this small shop to people who are considering heading to JB for lights-shopping! If you are keen to buy better brands (but only 1 light colour, not 3 colour option) like Samsung and LG, this shop sells them too. So do check them out in JB for your lighting needs!

1 pointPayment to Taobao or Tmall Paying to TB and Tmall has always been a pain in the xxx. The more direct approach is buying thru agent but then agent charged a fee that sometimes makes the item no longer attractive. Eg. Peeka charges a 5% or min $5. If the item is low value, it is more contemptible to use such service. Not to forget, Peeka allow only up to 3 orders consolidation. So another way is to use Credit Cards, which personally I avoid at all cost. This, firstly due to the unfavorable exchange rate and the 3% additional surcharge as well. So what can we do then? We can use Alipay. All you have to do is to register an Alipay account, now Alipay can even accept Singapore mobile. This is a safety security function, when paying, Alipay will send a 6 digit pin SMS to you r mobile for payment. To top up to Alipay, we can use AXS machine, to purchase Alipay Purchase Card, choosing from RMB200, 500 and 1000 to. You will have to enter your email and contact. Receipt will be issued and email sent. The email as follow: Please find your Alipay Purchase Card transaction details below. Transaction Date/Time : 2014-02-09 10:51:29 Amount Paid : SGD $218.70 Card Value : RMB 1000 Card Serial No. : 800300xxxxxxxxxx Card PIN : 2xxxxx Email address : abc123@gmail.com Contact No : 9xxxxxxx Also included are the instructions to top up in Alipay. Sounds easy right? But there are dome shortcomings as well too. 1) Unfavourable exchange rate charged. On this part, one has to do your own math, whether to buy thru agent and pay the fees/surcharge or thru this method. 2) Money top up cannot be refunded. So there will always be balance in the account. So it is better to plan and count how much you need before you top up. Personally, I will still use this method. At least I get to control what I spend, know how much I have; TB account will have record what I had bought. If received a super big lemon, I can deal direct with seller. Thru agent, there is no record unless agent able to retrieve for you but this will involve agent details such as payment, accounts etc. Any refund is also back to payee and not you. Long and tedious I feel. Wishing all “Happy Shopping!”.

1 pointI am using an Electrolux 7 kg washer and Electrolux 7 kg dryer. Both are inexpensive and good. No complaints. For the dryer, one notable feature is that it can reverse tumble. My helper says it is good, forgot why it is so. If you have space, buying a separate washer and dryer is better. When you have a heavy load, you can start drying your first load while washing your second load. Otherwise, you have to wait for the first load to dry before you can start to wash your second load. In a combination washer/dryer, sometimes I see the wash load as 7 kg but drying load as 5 kg, so I wonder what you do with the 2 kg? If you don't have space, stacking the dryer on top of the washer is a good idea. But best is if you can wall mount the dryer such that you create a space in between, to put your laundry basket etc. For those who are not aware, when you wall mount the dryer, the dryer is mounted upside down! That is why for the dryer, either the face-plate can be inverted or you are supplied with an inverse face plate.

1 pointI wonder whether built-in cooker hobs are all of the same size so that when one changes from one brand to another, it won't be a problem to fit it in. Thank you.
