Hi kelhy, this is how the back of the TV and the inside of the console looks like. It is rather tidy at the moment as I have yet to get a Blu-ray home theatre system as well as an Intel NUC hooked up to it. For the Intel NUC, I will likely wait for the 5th generation processors (Broadwell) refresh which is widely expected to be available in Q4 this year. For those who have been following this blog for the networking information, the next photo is dedicated to you. Having a NAS stream contents onto your computers, TV, smart phones and other devices is just so convenient. The added cloud feature means I can access the contents from anywhere with an internet connection, which has proven very useful at times when I have forgotten to sync videos onto my phone for my daily commute.

Hello Ann, Guess you've just got the keys to your place, and that you opted for a unit without the default flooring? Same here! You need to get the screeding done first, which is a layer of cement that smoothens out the surface before any form of flooring (HERF, laminates, homogeneous, granite, marble) can be installed. If yours is a HDB BTO, then the screeding can be done for free. You'd need to arrange this with your respective HDB Branch Office. Takes quite awhile to complete though...about 1 - 2 months as there's usually a long list of people waiting for the screed. Can't wait that long or live on private property? The flooring companies, or contractors can do it for you, but it'll set you back about $1,500 though... Happy Renovating!

moved into the new place last sat, one day before the start of ghost festival. very glad that we are able to renovate and move in within such a short period of time. kudos to my contractor for his very fast work. although there are still quite a bit of rectification work to be do but in general he still does a good job. let's see how quickly he can complete all the rectification work. kitchen, the pride of my place, the only place with something to show... the rest of the house is empty Pending a fixed panel on the table top and the delivery of a down sized fridge. will only peel out the protective sheet on my chimney hood after every thing is up.

Went to Giant yesterday and saw these cool Mason jar beverage dispenser (3.3 ltr) at S$7.90. They have other designs like 1 btl (S$22.90) or 2 btl (S$29.90) that comes with a rack. I bought 2 of the S$7.90 ones. It look something like this. Nice to have for parties or house warming.

After that got 'easy to huat'? 28 or 2.8 deg ? https://www.google.com.sg/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&es_th=1&ie=UTF-8#q=tilted+door+images One degree tilting already very 'jialat'. Perhaps residential door design should follow that of air-bridge's, can tilt at any angle till you 'huat huat huat' or 'can't recognise own home'? https://www.google.com.sg/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&es_th=1&ie=UTF-8#q=air%20bridge%20images

Interesting short journey so far! My opinion on your Rinnai inner flame hob. I totally disagree with your ID on tempered glass hobs. It might look just that bit sleeker but there are points to consider. A few considerations on tempered glass: can't take extreme heat and might crack if any boiling hot pot is placed directly onto it.can't take high impact hits too.scratches are permanent.this is only for the Rinnai tempered glass hob. Notice there's a rubber lining between the stainless steel strips and glass at the top and bottom of the hob? Rubber tends to disintegrate over time. It's a natural process but that process gets accelerated with heat, corrosive liquids and also physical impact like rubbing during cleanups. Even if it doesn't disintegrate, there's a fair chance that it could get torn accidentally during cooking/cleaning.Tempered glass hob can be used but you just have to be more careful during usage and maintenance. My opinion is that the stainless steel hob looks far better than tempered glass and the bonus is it's about half the price too. Anyway, the Scandinavian theme is all about simple clean lines (regardless of material) which the stainless steel version exhibits too. Btw I went through these considerations when choosing my hob too. Hope it helps

Am curious to know too. Ive stayed in my current flat in Woodlands for 18 years. Thinking of renovating my whole flat again and avoid the mistakes done during my first renovation. I ever asked a renovation company before and he said it will take at least 1 month to complete the job. A friend of mine done it before. He advised to find a temporary lodging and transfer all the household furniture and necessary items to a rented warehouse storage. He did the whole house renovation after more than 30 years. I don't intend to look for a new flat and renovating my flat again is better option. I just waiting for my kitchen cabinet to break down and then I will consider. It is important to do re-wiring again and replace the toilet bowl. Hope for some input from members here.
