  1. WAH the fan looks SLEEK! Expensive right? It's one of the newer models...
  2. I realise that the biggest challenge... is the dining table. at the place I put it now it blocks the hallway to the rooms. The only solution I can think of is a settee in the kitchen or... mm against the wall on the right. but that would block the way to the kitchen... mm *scratch head*
  3. mmm judging from jamie's layout hers can also take 2.9m - 3m.. think 2.9 or 3m not much diff... hehe ok.. back to doodling.. lalla
  4. I think Ivy's idea is good also!! ... I kaypoh, went to plan something already...
  5. HI Jamie!! Welcome and Congrats!! Simply put... OVERHAUL!!! ooo can I play with your floorplan? can I can I can I? *kaypoh*
  6. Actually I feel safer talking to the workers directly. I think I'm part control-freak cos I'm worried if I tell a middle man something, he might convey it to the worker differently and things will turn out different. I agree with ivy on the expectation part. I guess if I pay top dollar, I will expect an ID to do everything and I just move in when it's time.
  7. It's a skill we all learn when we deal with Uncle.
  8. Yup DIY! I'm so lucky I have my dad to put up... cos he's the fussy fussy meticulous sort. But later on when I watched my sis put up her own, it wasn't difficult too. it's really quite easy. The material ah?... very thin vinyl. If you smooth it on well it looks like it's part of the wall.
  9. haha Work more impt la. Next time buy one carton put there for them to drink.... then when you go you can get them nicer ones...
  10. mmm there are different quality ones at different prices.. the ones my bro got at the lowest price weren't very good. But then that's what we paid for. He's not going to be at home often so we decided against getting him very good stuff. hahaha But then I'm still not a good judge of their durability cos I've only lived here for 4 months which isn't very long. And I dun have kids to mistreat the things.... No offence to those with kids.
  11. You chose them from Sin Lek? Why didn't I see these tiles?? so nice..
  12. hahhaha yes yes getting married is an expensive affair and a troublesome one too.
  13. Your kitchen should be fully done up already?
  14. I was reading your situations... then it dawned on me why it didn't happen to me... cos when Uncle was doing my quotations, he still had a fax machine and he had the original chinese quote while I had the faxed copies... heh.
  15. YAAA I also buy the same drinks. But if the weather's hot I'll buy cool ones... if it's raining I'll buy kopi.. but Uncle Soon likes Teh-O. There was once we met up at 10pm, he ordered Teh-O at the coffeeshop also... No wonder he can't sleep.
  16. Welcome Mimi! I agree with Ivy totally. Suss out a few contractors and get a few quotations before deciding. You intend to stay in while the reno is going on?
  17. Ya I think the laminate is ok too. What top are you changing to? *curious*
  18. hi simpleguy! mmm no problems with it so far.. it's been 4 months+.... The open shelf next to it is from Ikea. haha It's a CD tower
  19. mmm Last time mine.. I live for 10 years it never turned yellow too. Don't worry la. My dad wants white powdered coated I also ignored him cos we don't have the budget for it. Since you get it then dun change... hehehhe
  20. same lor. I dropped by every day so every day I bought curry puffs and drinks. type of drinks depend on the kind of weather. *faints*
  21. I love your common toilet tiles!!! Very nice! Looks so spa like!
  22. huh. I do feel a little upset for you... Why don't you try contacting Yeak too? He seems quite reliable and did a nice job for Angel and roamca. Anyway it's always good to have a few quotes to compare.
