  1. according to different type of furniture... then some are for sets only. something like that.
  2. WAH I agree with preciousjam... I get tired easily. You're good!
  3. What kind of vases? Ikea has quite a number of plain ones which you can put nice stuff inside. If you want patterned ones or enamel ones then i think travelling will give you the best options.
  4. yes.. and the speed at which it is spreading at... is quite scary. And I think lots of people are paranoid cos I see long queues at the clinics. haiz I wonder if taking a flu jab will help. mm
  5. EH? oh Maybe uncle worried about the flu thing too.
  6. Thanks girls. I kept crying all day. Cos you know la.... spent so much on reno and I finally decided to give myself a treat by going and paying for the tickets... then suddenly this happens and I don't know if my tickets can be postponed/refunded so I cried thinking that the money went down the drain. Really yearn for a short break somewhere though. but at this rate with the virus travelling around the world.. I really think nowhere's safe enough. Imagine being on a cramp plane with people sneezing and coughing near you...
  7. move in move in!! I like how the house is pretty well matched and there's good space planning involved...
  8. mm Ya it's the first case that caused a mini panic in my work place... mass smses sent out today. So I don't think I can go. BF is asking me to change to 3rd quarter of the year and he will make time to meet me there. so Possibly August/Sept. I'll see what happens. I think a small fee is involved. But it's better than wasting that ticket money. mmm
  9. Was he nice? did he really have a lot of samples? I don't need his number yet. I think the processing of my recess area will take a long time. And when it's done I want to do my recess and my dining area at the same time. So that's when I want to put up wallpaper. In addition to that I want solar film for the balcony windows cos my rabbit's suffering there...
  10. Mine did acid wash after tiling. Then after the reno, they polished the floor and cleaned up the stains. My very very old window frame was polished until it looked much newer. And the Ah neh mopped my floor. But I still had to mop it a lot.
  11. haha don't make the wifey angry ya... it's bad for your stomach. I'm thinking... there really isn't much to do. you can probably do the staining yourself even... I'm sure they sell such things at paint shops and I think even Ikea has. When you say you're going to do the kitchen is it just the cabinets or the wall/floor tiles too?
  12. *Uber sad* just ranting Planned to go to Hongkong next weekend for an event and to visit my best friend over there but with the orange alert up, there's a high possibility I will be put on qurantine when I come back. So I might really have to cancel my plans. Super sad now cos I was really looking forward to it. I'll try to call Jetstar on MOnday about my tickets. Anyone tried to change your tickets in such conditions before? *sigh*
  13. heh mrspiglet didn't see your answer. Lugging your things over in bags will make it much easier for you. haha Lucky him! He now can enjoy the new house fully!!
  14. There's no use sweeping. You can only mop to get rid of it. And I think mopping on all fours is the most effective.
  15. I love the new 3&4 tiles!!! SOOOoOoOo much better than the previous ones! White looks better with the pink but I think grey will be easier to maintain. There are always pros and cons. The pink kitchenware is so nice!! Where did you see all that?
  16. Apples.... You're meeting Robin already? I want to see him too! mrspiglet keeps saying he has so many samples to choose from I'm so gian to put up wallpaper RIGHT NOW... Hope your rectifications will be cleared up asap!
  17. haha my tiler also. drew then asked... and he used a marker. lol
  18. XBB and Adrian, I just went to Smallboy's blog and saw his very good idea of the train track! I think that's great for managing shoes. If you have the train track just ask the ID/Contractor to leave some extra shelves behind so that you can adjust it yourself as and when you need. XBB My house also has this problem. I have a full height shoe cabinet and a mid-height one but the top portion of the full height one is used to hang umbrellas. Cos the shoes cannot be stored at a greater height than the altar we have in the house. L-Box with spotlights and covelights... they cast a different effect in your room. If you think you will need all the different lighting effects then you have a combination of both ba. I doubt you need it to be so bright by having all of them on at the same time. mm? Ah Soon's wardrobe can be customised to your liking... In fact if you provide him with a picture from CD or CR he can replicate it for you but at a higher cost than his normal one...
  19. I would change the door since a dent that big could mean that the inside is also affected. but your train track thing is SOOOO GOOD! mm maybe I should consider that for my shoe cabinet...
  20. Wow I really look forward to the transformation of your house!!
  21. Good for you to have such friendly and nice neighbours! Is she your immediate neighbour? mm I think the flooring really have to change... it's the ceramic sort, much like my old ones too and they cracked and popped so I guess we should take no risks... The main door opens into a very spacious living....
  22. ya.. looks like move-in condo condition!
  23. I like your dining table!! Little accents to the house can be bought slowly. No rush... Whenever you see something nice and within your budget (esp when you travel) you can just purchase.
  24. Eh... ask the agent to absorb the GST... just to show goodwill. BUT since you're not too pissed with them (like I was with mine) then let things be I guess. Make house-buying and renovation a nicer process to deal with. That second issue with OVER-confident ID... haha I had it too. If you can't click with the ID, please do not sign with the ID. There are so many IDs out there... I'm sure you will find a more suitable one who can provide the same designs... Most IDs are a little lost cos they are not trained in design anyway. They are mainly salesmen with a different name. It'll be quite difficult to find one who is really good at designing. As for the signature thing... go to "my controls" at the top. click on "signature" on the left and edit it
  25. Welcome! But it does seem like such an unhappy start. Like you guys, when I first started my reno, I was very worried too. I only had exactly 4 weeks to reno and did not have a single day extra at all. So I was truly worried. Luckily for me the major works, even the carpentry in the kitchen was done. If you see the works that happened after I moved in, it was really messy so really not worth it if you can spare the time ya?
